Chapter 31: Chapter 31

Olivia's pov:

A huge enthusiastic man dressed in a crisp suit came out and we shook hands.

I asked him about the particular ring, and I was shocked at his response.

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"Yes ma'am. A couple who I heard were of a very high status bought the last pieces of those rings. It sold out now!" he clarified.

"Can you describe the couple's faces?"

"No sorry, I'm not the best at describing."

"Can you please let me have a look at the security footage?"

"I'm sorry but in order to protect our customers privacy, I cannot do that."

I was disappointed that I approached a dead end that I just stormed out of the store.

All this ended up for nothing. Now what shall I do? I didn't have any other lead apart from that the couple was of a high status. But what?

Were they politicians? or anyone from the government?

But if that were true, what could they possibly want from me or my family? We were just regular normal people.

My head was blasting from all this thinking. The lead was so vague that they could be anyone. I didn't even know what according that that guy, higher status meant!

I walked into a coffee shop "Jimmy" and ordered a plain black coffee as I was desperate to clear my mind.

As I was sipping my coffee, I whipped out my phone from my pocket and searched for "high status" positions.

I finally was able to hunt a list which stated the following:

1. Politicians

2. Lawyers

3. Policemen

4. CEOs

5. Celebrities

So, it could be anyone from one category. But I was so lost that I couldn't pinpoint a category that I could suspect the killer to be a part of.

When I drank all the coffee from my white ceramic cup, I placed it on the wooden table and started thinking of some possibilities.

I also had to take into consideration that the killer either lived in India or traveled to India to find my family.

I placed my head on the table in between my folded hands. It literally could be anyone.

Being a YouTuber, I knew many police for security reasons, many CEOs from different businesses knew me for brand deals, many celebrities were my friends, and I knew some lawyers too.

I didn't have any tie with any politicians as things get very messy if you get involved with one, so I had to chalk that one out.

I rolled up the sleeve on my right hand and took a look at the time from my wristwatch and realize it was past 10.

After getting up from my seat, I ran towards the road to get a ride back to the hotel. The other customers had a puzzled look on their faces when they saw me run like a maniac.

I called an Uber and gave him the hotel's address and requested him to be a little quick about it as I couldn't miss the first Vidcon session at 12.

As I was running across the lobby to get into my room, I bumped into someone and felt a sting in my head when the collision took place.

"Ow!!" The other person screamed in a high-pitched voice.

I was massaging the area of pain in my forehead when I looked up to see Nikita's face.

"I'm so sorry Nikita but I am in a hurry" I said before running past her and into the elevator.

Judging from her facial expressions, I could tell she was not very happy with me. I knew I had to apologize later at Vidcon.

As I busted the door of my room open after inserting the electronic key card, I started scavenging through my suitcase for a decent outfit.

I didn't want thousands of fans to see me as a mess of a person.

Then again, that was the exact thing people saw in my videos, so I didn't know why I bothered but I still did.

I stood in front of the mirror, posing for an Instagram post that I was due to post in days.

I looked pretty decent in the outfit that I picked which was a pair of blue jeans, a white sleeveless top covered with a denim jacket. I was so glad Vidcon wasn't a formal thing.

I reached the lobby when Nikita did too. I guess she was still pretty upset from earlier.

But she did look beautiful in her purple skirt and crop top. She was a lot bolder than I could ever be.

Anyways as all the influencers gathered showing their diverse backgrounds with their outfits which really showed the wonderful community we really had.

The buses arrived and took us to the Vidcon location which was a huge convention center in LA that could fit thousands of people.

As I got off from the bus, the sun's rays which were shining on my face, caused my eyes to squint as I saw the trio- Sam, Jack and Jessica parking their car nearby.

The previous times when I would meet or even just see them from a far, I would always feel immense sorrow only but this time, it was different.

I was filled with curiosity! I wanted to know more. The three of them were definitely hiding something extremely vital from me.

I was also curious to know if they knew what happened to my family.

Since I never bought the topic up to them before in Australia, they never did the same.

But I knew I had to know at any cost! I couldn't afford to waste any more time and energy.

After clearing security, which was pretty tight, we entered into the large convention center.

The first thing that caught my eye was the huge ad banner in the middle of the ceiling! It featured many creators including me and the Vidcon logo.

I was so blessed that I could see myself twice as large on an ad banner. Dreams do come true!

There were rows of creator booths around the center. Each one had a creator name on it and that particular creator would get to host giveaways and fan meet n greets at that booth.

At the center of the building, a large studio was present where creators could give speeches or just host a QnA with their fans.

Towards the back, I noticed a large room which had black curtains behind a wall of glass windows and doors. There was a thumbprint machine that only allowed creators into the room. I learnt that it was the creator lounge.

I was so happy that I could barely contain my excitement.

I came across a booth that had Nikita's face zoomed in and I got quite surprised for a moment.

I turned around and saw Nikita witnessed my surprised reaction at her face and she did not look quite happy about it.

I wondered why she was always this upset...
