Chapter 36: Chapter 36

Ingrid's POV

After my conversation with Indigo, I went home to Nueva Ecija. I don’t want to have sinned. I don't want to give in to myself because I know it's wrong. I know very well what effect that can have on a person. Every single time you'll ask about your worth. Every day you ask yourself what is really wrong with you. I don't want anyone to experience that.

"Nanay, let's go," Raya said to me. I smiled and nodded at her.

"You're staring at something again, Nanay," she said, pouting at me. I still can't help but think of Indigo. I still like him and I'm aware of what I feel.

"Wow, my angel is beautiful," I said when I saw her hair braided by her Aunt Jolie. She just snorted before whispering.

"I told Tita Jolie that I like to curl my hair," she said, still routes. I laughed because she also liked what Jolie was doing on her own hair.

"When you're old," I said so she nodded and smiled. I called my siblings for them to go to school. Raya was just sitting next to me while looking out the window. She's the type of person that even though she sees things over and over again, still doesn't get tired as long as it's beautiful. My daughter always likes looking around. She likes nature so much.

"Bye, Ma'am!" she said, kissing me on the cheek when I took her to the elem department. I laughed because that's really what she's used to.

"Good morning, Ma'am," some students greeted me as I passed by. I just greeted them back as well.

I was in the middle of walking when I stopped because there was a group of students in the middle of the field.

“Psst. What is that? It's already time! Why aren't you still coming to your classroom?” I asked the students there.

"Hey, it's Ma'am Ingrid, let's go in!" they shout. The expression on my face remained serious. I even managed to raise an eyebrow at them so they ran towards their room.

I stopped when I saw the production team right here at the school. I was even more stunned when I saw Indigo looking at me right now. My lips parted because of that. What is he doing here?

Why is there a celebrity here today? Why wasn't I informed that there was a shoot here?

I just avoided looking at him. Fate is really fuck up. When I'm avoiding him, he's showing up.

"Good morning, Ma'am," some of his team greeted me.

"Good morning," I greeted back. I even smiled when I said goodbye and left. I simply looked at Indigo who still didn't take his eyes off me. He was as if watching my whole being.

Before I entered my class, I first went to Ma'am Santillan to ask questions.

"Oh, you're already here, Ma'am," she said, smiling at me.

“I would just call you. There was a sudden shoot here. I didn't want to give in but Mr. Cornel made the request. They will only use the school for two days. I can't really refuse either,” Ma'am Santillan said with a smile. My lips parted because of that.

"Can you guide them when you have a vacant time?" she asked me. I just nodded there. I only have a few hours vacant so it's okay with me. What's wrong is to see Indigo here. It's like my heart will explode with nervousness because he's here again.

I just sighed before going to my class. I just busied myself. All morning I just focused my brain on teaching even though I was already thinking about the guy outside. If I won't stop myself, I will not stop thinking.

"Ma'am, it's time," they said when the bell rang and I was still teaching. I pouted before I looked at the watch.

"Fine, take your break. Don't forget your assignment," I told them before taking the books to my desk. I just stop when I was already outside. I saw Indigo leaning against the side of the door while looking at me. I almost choked on my own saliva because of the way he looked.

The student couldn't pass because I was blocking the door. I just let them out first. Maybe Indigo has already left too. I could feel my heartbeat acting not normal again but I just tried to calm it down.

"Ingrid," he called to me as I was about to pass him. I furrowed my forehead and looked at him. I tried to act normal as if he was not affecting me.

"I bought you food," he said, lifting the food he was carrying. I just looked at it. I tried to act professional because the students were looking at us. The high school student was really thrilled while looking at us.

"Hope all, Ma'am!"

"Ma'am is really beautiful! He has a lineup of suitors!"

I can't help but blush because of that. I also felt ashamed of their teasing. I pulled Indigo away from there.

"What?" I asked him angrily. He looked at me in surprise because of the annoyance I was showing.

“This is a school ground. We should be the model for the students, you shouldn't do that,” I said.

“What? Are you not allowed to eat?” he wondered. I looked at him.

"Apart from the fact that it's not a good example to kids in school. You did something wrong," I said.

“How wrong? You said someone would get angry but you don't have a boyfriend,” he told me.

"But someone will still be angry," I said.

"So, you don't really have a boyfriend?" he asked me.

“I don't have? Wait, why do you care?” I asked, frowning at him. I heard his weak murmur.

"Are you cursing me?" I ask. He immediately shook his head at my question.

"Fuck, I wasted another year just because of a misunderstanding," he whispered so I just looked at him.

"Who will be angry at us?" he asked me. I stopped there. Don’t know if I should say we have a child or what.

"Why do you care? You already have a girlfriend, you don't have to know about other people's whereabouts. Don't tell me you were like that when we were together?” I asked, raising an eyebrow at him.

“Girlfriend? Are we together again? One more thing, you were the only one I wanted then until now. How else can I like someone else? How can I flirt with someone if you are the only one who I want to be with?” My lips parted because of that. I also felt the heat on my cheek but in the end, I just glared at him.

"Liar!" I said.

“Which part do you not believe? I can even make a PowerPoint to explain to you,” he said so I looked at him.

"You're flirting, your girlfriend Andra, you can still—" He didn't even finish what I was going to say.

"You are my first and last girlfriend, Ingrid," he told me.

“Is it hard to understand the word that you are the only thing I want from then until now? I will not have a relationship with anyone unless it's you,” he said. I just kept staring at him. Who would admit that they want to flirt with others, right? But Indigo is not like that, Ingrid. Who knows? Man changes over time.

"I'll call Andra, talk to her," he said. I didn't object and let him contact Andra's number. It was only a matter of time before she answer the call. He didn't even talk to her. He immediately handed me the cell phone. I looked at him with his phone in my ear.

“Hello? Damn you I'm still making out with my boy toy. Why the fuck are calling? What is that again? I told you that I talked to her brother, she doesn't have a boyfriend. ” She spoke one after the other so I looked at Indigo with a raised eyebrow. He looked at me with wonder because of that.

"Andra," I called so there was silence between the two of us. I was almost deaf when she shouted. I took the phone away from my ear because she was still screaming.

“OMG! Are you back together?!” she screams while asking a question.

"Ah, no, I just want to ask if you are together," I said. She immediately burst out laughing because of that.

“Nah. I don't like Indigo at all. That was just back then. ” She laughs at me because of that. We also talked for a while. She said that they were just watching my reaction.

“So? Do you believe me now?” Indigo asked, still smiling at me. Should I pierce his dimple? I just handed him his phone.

"I still have work to do," I said as I was about to pass him.

"Okay, Ma'am," he said with a smile before touching my wrist to hand over the paper bag he was carrying.

"Don't forget to eat," he smiled widely as he watched me. I just stared at him so I heard his laughter.

“See you later, Ma’am,” he said. I don’t know why my heart seems to jump just because of him calling me 'Ma'am'. I just calmed down and get the paper bag before walking straight ahead.

I almost jumped in shock when I saw Gracia. Her grin is too wide.

"I saw that, Mare," she said, almost stabbing my side.

"All right, I'll leave him to you," she said, laughing so I couldn't stop shaking my head.

"Stop saying nonsense, Ma'am Gracia," I said so she smiled even more just to annoy me.

"You know what we should change the name, it's you who receives a lot of grace," she laughed.

"Your hair is so long," she said. Gracia is actually pretty. In fact, there are a lot of people waiting for her, she just doesn't like anyone from them. Single but afraid of commitment. She also stopped teasing us when we were on the faculty.

It was as if I were floating on a cloud. He doesn't have a girlfriend and he still likes me. I'm already making up a scenario in my brain of how I can tell him that he has an instant child.

Before I went back to my class I approached his team.

“Mr. Cornel,” I called him. He immediately looked at me and the smile that had been curved earlier widened even more.

"Hi, you miss me right away?" he asked me, so I just narrowed my eyes at him.

"Are you busy? Can I take you to dinner later?” I asked him. He immediately smiled there.

"Of course, I'm yours to take," he said. I was just stuck there.

"Okay, see you later," I said, nodding.

All afternoon I was in class, making my own script in my brain on how to introduce Raya to Indigo, my ex-boyfriend, and how to explain that we have a child. I don't even know what I'll say.

"Where are they now?" I asked Gracia as we walked towards the office. The faculty members have a meeting. Indigo's team isn’t there so I just can’t help but think they packed up early.

"They are in the garden," Gracia said, so I immediately looked at her.

"What?" I asked, feeling the pounding of my chest.

I always want to look formal when I'm at school but I can't stop running towards the garden because I know Raya will be there, my daughter likes plants.

I wasn’t even mistaken when I saw her holding gloves while speaking in front of the camera, where Indigo's team is staying. She's explaining about the plants that are there. The videographers were ecstatic as they watched her. Almost all of them are amazed by how talkative she is.

I also saw someone smiling while looking at Raya. They also asked my daughter some questions, which she answered confidently.

"Nay!" Raya shouted when she saw me. The smile widened immediately from her lips but I couldn't reciprocate her smile with the nervousness I'm feeling right now. She removed the gloves she was holding before she ran to hug me.
