Chapter 25: Chapter 25
Ingrid's POV
Safe place:
Love! Where are u? I'm here
I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw Indigo’s text to me. I just shook my head before typing a message to him.
Me:
I'm going out, Love.
In less than a second, he was calling me. My lips parted before I slowly bit it.
"Why?" I asked him.
"Call me to love again," he said so I just shook my head.
"Stop bothering me," I said. So that’s how I think about it a lot before texting him. I'm never really the showy type so he's always surprised when I called him love or whatever. He won’t stop until he gets what he wants too.
“Come on. Just call me love,” he complained so I couldn't help but shake my head.
"Love," I called. He did not speak. He just let out deep breaths until he broke it.
"I didn't know I needed to hear that until it came from your mouth," he said so I couldn't help but be embarrassed.
"You are overacting!" I laughed out loud.
"I'll end the call, I'm going out now," I said so he agreed. There was another 'I love you' message before the call finally died down.
When I came out, I saw Steffanie raising an eyebrow at me.
“You look happy. The question is how long will you be happy?” she asked me with a smile. I don’t know if she's allergic when she sees me smiling or what. I just didn't talk to her. I don’t have time for that. I don’t want to waste time with some unimportant people.
"Hi." Indigo smiled broadly when he greeted me.
"Kwek kwek or isaw?" he asked me.
"Isaw!" I said excitedly so he nodded at me. He even tried to take my belongings but he had too much to carry so I was the one carrying it and I even helped him.
As we walked to the street food store, I saw his Mom calling him. I turned to him because of that. He pouted when he answered this. He just said that he'll answer it for a moment to me before talking to his Mom. They talked quickly before he approached me again.
"Did you already visit your mom?" I asked him. He pouted before shaking his head at me. I narrowed my eyes to him because of that.
“Visit your house, you idiot. You are always at home and your friends are chatting me that you always refuse their invites,” I said. I don’t want his world to just revolve around me. I don't want to be the only one he pays attention to. Although I really need his presence now and then I wouldn't want him to see him just focusing on me.
“I will. Are you coming with me?” he asked, still smiling at me.
"No, I can't go there. Irah and Sandro won't have someone with them," I said.
"Take them with you then," he said with a wide smile.
"Please, I've been wanting to introduce you for a long time," he insisted so I just smiled at him. Well, it's not bad to give in, especially since he always tries his best to ask me to meet his family.
"Alright," I said so his lips immediately parted. He also immediately hugged me because of that.
“Really? I can't wait to go home,” he said with a wide smile on his face.
We just talked about it while we were on our way home. He also immediately set a date on when he will take me to their house. I couldn't stop smiling because of that because it seemed like he really wanted me to be a part of his life.
"Are we really going, Big Sister?" my siblings asked. I nodded and smiled at them. I could see the excitement on their faces.
"Hmm, yes," I said, so they jumped in joy. Sandro immediately asked Indigo about their house. While Irah was excited about meeting Atlas, he was already a celebrity now.
“Can I meet Kuya Atlas, Kuya? Seriously, he's really handsome!” Irah said so I immediately turned to her and narrowed my eyes.
"Irah, you're still young for that!" I said so she immediately pouted.
"It's just a crush," she said. Atlas is even more famous because of the number of his projects right now. Surprisingly, he chose to be an actor while when I saw him in Chora's salon, he seemed to prefer a peaceful life.
Indigo and Atlas did not lose communication. They were still casual with each other. It's just that Indigo was angry at first with Atlas because Chora was hurt.
“I'll call him. I'm not sure if he will come home though. He is too busy with his shoots,” Indigo said so Irah nodded. He was really spoiling the brothers at will.
"What about my autograph, don't you like it?" Indigo asked Irah so we both shook our heads. Very accustomed to his mischief. We just rolled our eyes at him.
And the day came. It's been a few weeks and I'm really going to Indigo's house. We just plan to commute. I was next to Irah while Indigo was next to Sandro. He already likes him more than me.
"Do you think it's okay for you to take us, Ate?" Irah asked me. This question has been asked many times. Meet the parents that's why she keeps on saying that it should just be Indigo and me.
“Yes, your big brother said so. They can't wait to see you,” I said.
I just didn't expect the opposite to happen.
When we got to Indigo's house. A housemaids greeted us.
"Sir, Ma'am just picked up your Dad," she said. I saw Indigo frown but he later smiled at Manang who said the news. I just kept quiet while looking at their house.
It's really big. I tried not to be surprised either because I'm sure that Indigo is really rich and based on their gate when we got here years ago, I already knew about it.
I saw their housemaids sneak a peek at my siblings. I just averted my eyes because I was also ashamed of the way they looked.
"Manang, my girlfriend Ingrid, and then Sandro and Irah, her sister," Indigo introduced me to their housemaids. He was smiling from ear to ear when he introduce me to them. I can't help but smile because of it.
"You're so beautiful, Hija," they told me. I don't even know how to thank them because I'm not used to being praise.
"Oh, you're here," someone said. I almost froze when I heard his Mother's voice. I feel like I'll be out of breath anytime. It feels like I just want to go back to Manila because of how nervous I am right now
When I looked there, I immediately saw an elderly woman but she still looked young. Her moves are so elegant. Next to her was a man who looked exactly like Indigo. It looks like his Mom and Dad.
"Good morning," his mother greeted us. I straighten my back when his mother's eyes went to me.
"Good morning po," I greeted her but she just kept on looking at me. She was even able to look at me from head to toe. I bit my lip because of that.
“Mommy, Daddy, this is Ingrid, my girlfriend. Hier siblings are Sandro and Irah. Ingrid, that's my Mom and Dad,” Indigo casually introduced me to them. The heavy atmosphere didn't even bother him. My siblings greeted me with a smile. I just kept looking at the couple. I can’t see them smile so I just bit my lips even more. That's why I can't help but wonder where did Indigo inherit her smiley ass? He always had a smile on his face while his Mama and Papa looked intimidating.
"Let's eat, Manang is already ready the food," his Mommy said. My brothers and sisters fell silent. They also look scared of them.
When I was at the table, I didn't even know how to calm down because I couldn't see a smile on their lips. Indigo held my hand before smiling at me.
"Relax, Mommy won't bite," he whispered to me. Trying to lighten the atmosphere but I really like to watch someone’s expression to find out if they like me or not. And the expression on her Mommy and Daddy's face? They don’t seem to want us here.
"So, what's your parent's job?" his Mommy asked me. I bit my lip because of her question. Actually, I'm not comfortable talking about my parents.
“Mom, just ask another question. What the heck? Why does it seem like a job interview? We are here to eat,” Indigo said laughing as he put the food on my plate. So are in my siblings. We are used to swapping food on each other's plates so it seems out of habit as well.
I saw her Mommy's eyebrow rise so I just signaled to Indigo that I'll do that but he didn't stop.
“What else do you want? Just eat a lot,” he said to my siblings with a smile. I can't stop smiling because of that.
"So you're just really wasting your life in Manila, huh?" We both looked at his Daddy when he spoke. He just spoke and I seemed to be horrified by the extreme coldness of his voice.
“No, Dad. I'm chasing after my dream,” Indigo said. The playfulness from his voice disappeared.
“Chasing after your dream or are you just looking for a weight? You're already a burden in this house, you're adding some burden more!” he shouted angrily. Sometimes I would like to be stupid so I won't get it when other people talk bad about me but the world just really wants to show me that not all people will like me.
“Until now, you are still really stubborn. Instead of making sure that you'll have a great life, you even engage yourself with people who don't have class,” he said while looking at my brothers and sisters who were enjoying the food. They just stopped because of the sudden rise of his voice.
"If you're just going to insult the people who made me feel useful, it would be better if we cut our relationship with each other forever. That's what you've always wanted," Indigo said so my eyes widened.
"Indigo!" His Mommy's loud voice conquers the dinner table. So did his Daddy who didn’t seem to like what his son said. I immediately grabbed Indigo's hand and shook my head at him. I don't want him to do that just because it's useless.
"You're really something, huh?" Her Daddy jumped up from the table. His Mommy followed him to calm him down.
“No, Indigo. You can't do this. Talk to them. Fix it because I know how heavy it is planting hate and anger on someone there,” I said pointing at his chest. He stared at me because of this. He did not speak and eventually just sighed.
"Sorry, It should be a happy day for both of us," he said. I know he expected this breakfast to be good but not everything we expect will happen.
"It's fine, go ahead, we'll be fine here," I said so finally nodded.
"Come on, don't make it worse," I said pushing him softly just so he could get up and go there. He finally let out a deep sigh before standing up and going after his Mommy and Daddy. He gave me one more glance so I just smiled at him. I could see the guilt in his eyes but I just shook my head. As long as he still likes me. Nothing really matters.
