Chapter 21: Chapter 21
Ingrid's POV
“You look like a fool! Get yourself together! ” I complained to Indigo when he put the ice cream he bought next to me. He knew I had my period now so he was teasing me even more. When I have my period, I really can't eat cold foods because at the end of the day I'll be the miserable one all day.
"You're an animal!" I laughed when he shake his head while eating in front of me, obviously making me jealous. I rolled my eyes at him.
Ever since he started courting me, he often tweets random things so I'm embarrassed to all of his followers. I just don’t pay attention that much because I feel like I'll be eaten by the earth because of that. He keeps on flirting with me.
“What will we do about this? It's difficult to find a grab. We have a lot of orders right now!” I said when I got back on what I'm doing. I pointed at those orders from Cavite. It's a bulk order and the owner has been waiting for us for a while. I don't really know what should I prioritize right now.
"Should I just deliver it?" he asked. He brought a new motor that he hardly use either because he was still commuting with me when we go home. We are also more used to walking.
"That much, can you do it all?" I asked him. He turned to me because of that.
"Did I say I'm the only one going?" he asked.
"Who else?" I asked him.
"You," he said to me.
"Stupid, Irah and Sandro are alone here," I said.
“It's okay, Ate, you'll be fast, right? Sometimes you even spend more time at a convenience store so we are fine,” Irah said who also eats ice cream on one side. Sandro also turned to look at us for a moment. Compared to the previous days. My brother is healthier. Indigo was always been the one who spoiled them. Always bringing food and whatnot.
“And that customer of yours keep on asking about that, didn't she? I'll take care of Sandro and Mama,” Irah said who even smiled at me as if she could do it. She told me a few more times than she could really do it so in the end I also agreed especially when I saw the call from the client again.
"Yes, Ma'am, I'm on my way," I said.
“Please hurry, Miss. We really need that today,” she told me.
“Why did they say that it will be held tomorrow—” I stop Indigo when he tried to complain. It's also a shame if we won't be able to sell it. It's too much if it's suddenly canceled.
I just talked to nicely the woman.
Indigo and I also decided to leave. We also had a fast trip. We stop at the client's café.
"I can do that," he whispered to me because I was going to lift some of our products. I couldn't help but look at him because of that.
“What do you think of me? Disabled? ” I asked him.
"No, my research says it's forbidden to lift heavy things when you're in your period," he said so I couldn't help but frown. Is there such a thing?
"Good evening. I'm really sorry, Miss, if it took so long," I said to the woman I was talking to. She wasn't looking at me. She was looking at Indigo who was organizing the orders.
"It's okay, Sis, especially if this handsome is the one who's here!" She smilingly said.
"Thank you, Miss. I hope you can order again next time," I said with a smile.
"There's definitely more to come, especially if the handsome man will be the one to deliver," she said with a sweet smile to Indigo who was already looking at our side before he approach us.
"Let's go?" he asked me. I nodded there.
“Water first, Handsome. Your name is Indigo, right? We see you at your live. You are more handsome in person,” she said. He smiled and talked to the woman for a while before he turned around to me. He's friendly and I know that. It's just like that but I'm aware that he likes me even though many still like him.
"Let's go," he said to me.
"You're the only one I'm waiting for here?" I said before I walked out first.
"Hey, are you angry?"
"Why would I get mad?" I asked back.
"Why do you seem angry?"
"No, let's go," I said.
"You're really angry," he said so I looked at him. This one is too decisive for me. I didn't know if I would laugh or what because of him.
"I'm not, you look crazy." Eventually I just really laughed at him.
“Do you want to visit our house?” he asked me so my eyes immediately widened. I can't avoid shaking my head because of that.
"No, I don't want to," I said looking nervous in case he introduced me to his parents. He just estimated the expression on my face until he just shrugged and did nothing.
"Fine then," he said while pouting.
"What about my friends?" he asked me. He still seemed to be thinking when he asked that so I couldn't help but laugh softly.
"Don't, we're easy, aren't we?" I asked him. I know that once I enter his life, it might be hard for me to leave and this guy seems like he really wants me to enter his life. I will give in if that will happen.
“What about Chora?” he asked me.
"Your girlfriend?" I ask.
“Until now you're thinking about that, Ingrid? I told you, she was just my best friend. Our relationship is all shit and human,” he said.
“You're shit, and she's human. Is that the thing? ” I laughed jokingly so he glared at me. Eventually, I just tease him. Melchora's mother's salon is just also on our way, so I agreed.
When we got there I couldn't help but stare at Indigo who was interacting with the three transwomen who were really beautiful. Their daughter Chora actually inherit her face to them, huh.
Indigo seems to be their son too. It's like they adopted him here too.
Melchora came out for a while because her boyfriend called. After that, they entered with the same wide smile. Indigo and I looked at them. I looked at Indigo's face because maybe he has a one-sided love for his best friend but he looks at her like how I look at my sibling. I looked back at Melchora and her boyfriend.
"Hey, why are you looking at Atlas like that?" Indigo asked me in a whisper.
“Huh? You are talking nonsense,” I said, unable to avoid shaking my head at him. I can see how he glared at the man who was with Melchora now.
"But her boyfriend is also handsome, isn't he?" I asked Indigo so he turned to me. Well, I mean Melchora is beautiful so her boyfriend is handsome too.
"I'm even more handsome than him!" he said as he flex his biceps in front of me.
"Stupid, what does that have to do with beauty?" I ask. He pouted before rolling his eyes.
“Why are you here, Atlas? Cover your face,” he added.
“My girlfriend is here naturally. Stupid, why don't you cover your eyes?” the man asked her.
"Stupid, why would I cover her eyes and bear with the consequence that she won't see me forever?" Indigo even pointed at me so I frowned at him and slightly nudge him. He’s really embarrassing sometimes. I looked at Melchora when she suddenly smile teasingly at Indigo.
“Finally! Let him wait, Ingrid. 10x more than how I waited,” Melchora laughed and she even let go of her boyfriend's grip before clinging to me.
I laughed a little because I heard Indigo muttering some things.
Melchora and Atlas just looked at him with a teasing grin so I laughed even more. I can't help but laugh softly but still feel bad for him.
“Hey, I saw how you look, ah. It seems even more insulting than how they trade,” Indigo told me so I just raised an eyebrow at him before averting my eyes.
I can see the smiles on Melchora and Atlas's faces while looking at the two of us. Indigo just introduced me to Atlas.
“Hey, tell me how this idiot woos you. What, Beh? Is he stingy?” Melchora asked me.
“Girl, if I'm with you, don't answer him! That one is too stingy. You may starve to death,” she said with a laugh.
“Don't give her an idea, Chora. You're crazy, Atlas shouldn't have answered you,” Indigo said and they both made faces at each other. I can't help but smile as I watch them.
"He's actually not," I said because he almost always wanted to spend his money for us.
“Oh? Really?! When we were younger he was even asking me to buy him some street food!” Chora's complaint. We just talked and just teased Indigo who is looking at us. I couldn't help but laugh because he was obviously frowning when Chora was telling me some stories about him in high school. He's really popular.
They were also able to introduce me to Chora’s Mima and eventually a ton of people even rushed to the salon. I immediately felt embarrassed when I found out that they were Indigo's friends. It was like I just wanted to leave the salon and go home now.
“Wow! Just like what I thought she doesn't just have a beautiful voice, she's so pretty too!” a man said while looking at me.
"I'm going to tell Bette, Bren!" Chora said so he immediately fell silent before pouting.
"You're unlucky, Ingrid," a man named Carver said while looking at me and Indigo.
"For the first time in my life, l will agree with you, Carver," Bren said, so Indigo immediately glared at them so they both kept their mouths shut. I'm playing with my fingers because I don't know what to say and I'm not used to seeing a lot of people talking to me.
I’m also afraid that maybe just like Jayvee’s friend, they are also like that. Don't get me wrong. Their vibes are completely different but the thing is I'm so carried away by what happened back then that it's scary to trust people now. I just don’t want to be disappointed again.
“Damn you, Guys. It's already vague that she'll answer me. You even scared her more. Go away!” He even shooed them like a dog.
"Who told you to come here?" Indigo even complained while blocking his friends to going near me. Apparently, he noticed how uncomfortable I am so I couldn't help but smile secretly as he read the situation.
Chora whistled, the reason why Indigo's friends are all here right now. She seems to be the one who told them.
"Cho, let's forget about each other, you idiot," Indigo said to her while pouting.
“I just posted our selfie because your crush is so pretty. I will just be supposed to let them be jealous but they are here immediately,” she explained. I can't help but be flutter because of her praise.
"Hey, hello, we won't bite, promise," they told me so I just smiled.
“So, how does he court? Addicted to games? Tell him to just flirt with his cellphone,” they said, just teasing Indigo who wanted to drag me home because of his friends.
We didn't stay there so long either because we really had to go home. My siblings are still waiting. Just before we finally went home, I asked him to visit his home first but of course, I didn't go in.
That night I realize that we are different. He just came home, you knew immediately that many people wanted to take care of him.
