Her heart rate increased, she knew it was a sign of her heartbreaking over him. Every ounce of love she had for him must have been shattered.

Still, she wanted to know what her punishment was excluding the obvious makeup she just saw. It was nothing new.

" Where are my things? It's getting late. I want to sleep" she tried to be positive. She was certain there was no room for argument since he included his household. It's a relief they were used to his cruel ways.

" The maid's quarters. You'll assist them in running the house chores. Make sure you serve me coffee in bed or in the study every day. You'll make breakfast and dinner when I'm home. And Kate, you just got fired" he told her . She flinched pulling out of Colt's hold standing in front of him then he spoke" don't you dare stand before me. We're not equals" she knelt before him begging

" Alvin I'm sorry. I swear I haven't done anything with it. I installed it a few days ago. Please believe me. I can't lose my job. How would I make a living" she pleaded which amused Cynthia who reached for a kiss but he pushed her off when Kate wasn't looking.

" You're so dumb. How did you become a personnel manager? Anyways, when I say you just lost your job, I meant literally like no company is going to employ you for a long time. As usual, you're free to roam the City for a try " he stated which eventually earned a whimper from her but she didn't cry no matter how hard she tried.

" And one more thing. What did you intend to do with the live stream?

She opened her mouth to speak but nothing came out. Cynthia chuckled at her pathetic state.

" Are you dum? Can't you speak? Have you turned mute? He snapped as she flinched fiddling with the hem of her shirt in fright

' you're pathetic. Having a camera in your room. You're a gold digger. It's obvious you did it to ask for divorce" Cynthia spoke as Alvin nods in agreement. It stirred More anger in him that she was planning such a thing behind his back but again she couldn't have. He knew who did it: Dante Lorenzo.

Kate held his hand " please Alvin, I didn't mean to hurt you. It won't happen again. Please don't do this to me. Please. I need that job. I will cook and clean, serve you coffee. I'll do whatever you want but don't take my job away. I'm begging you please please" she groveled before him tugging on his trousers while he watched then stood up.

" My mind is made up. Don't you see me as a monster? I hope this helps. Add it to your list. I'm sure I've done plenty" he said profoundly yanking her hands off him then walked away from her. She kept begging, pleading, calling out to him but he ignored it still it didn't stop her till she couldn't see his back anymore.

She bit her lips deciding to follow him but Cynthia stopped her " don't you get it? He doesn't want you anymore. Beat it" she said as a matter of fact walking majestically to his wing.

The drama was over so everyone left including Colt who was contented with her punishment.

Lisa and Annette went to her aide though they were surprised she did such a thing.

" Your room is next to mine. I hope you don't snore banished princess' Miranda cackled walking out on them.

" I didn't mean to do it, Lisa. He treats me like a sub. Alvin hates me to the core. I don't know what I did to him. I want to be free. Why won't he let me go? I want to go home to my mom. I want to go home" she said repeatedly as they hugged her. They didn't have the right words to express how much they wished they could help.

" Kate, Cynthia's days are numbered. She left here before and she'll leave sooner or later. Stop worrying" she consoled but Kate shook her head. " That's not my problem. I need a job to sustain myself. I can't remain like this. Alvin is a devil" she cussed as Annette agreed to help her up

" Let's go inside. It's late. You need some sleep. Forget about them and who knows you might land a better job" she stated. She took it as a yes. Kate stood up and followed them to the maid's quarters. The problem wasn't the room but the job. She'd know her place now.

" Do you need anything? You can tell me if it's not to your taste. We could make adjustments" Lisa stated. Annette was hanging her clothes though the closet couldn't contain them. She squeezed it in.

" It's fine. Thanks, guys. I'm comfortable. It reminds me of my room back home. Thanks for the help" she said. They respected her decision and left while she hugged herself to bed then ran to the bathroom to retch.

There was a bathtub at the side of the bathroom and a hand shower. It was like a deluxe suite in a hotel and they said it was the maid's quarters. She brushed her teeth and soaked herself in the bathtub recalling his horrific face while speaking to her and their kiss.

It's Dante's fault. Has he been watching her all this while? It's a relief to know it didn't take long before it was discovered. He invaded her privacy with lies. Why isn't there a good man out there? She questioned herself shutting her eyes.

Heavy footsteps echoed in the walkway as employees moved out of the way. then the door to the CEO's office was pushed open forcefully.

" Carla Lorenzo, what did you do? Carla raised her head eyes meeting his angry ones and gestured for him to have a seat.

" Good morning to you too Dante. What's eating you up " she asked in Italian waiting for it

" Why did you fire her? She's the best we have. What did she do this time? He demanded staring dead at her

" I did what's best for this company. Put your feelings aside and act like a man for once. She's always absent. I need loyal employees. She's not stable. I had to let her go. Her life is messed up already. I advise you to do the same. " She implored but he didn't seem to be satisfied with the answer. He slammed his hands on the desk in anger.

' you're lying Carla. She just put her best in preparing the biggest event in history. You and I know she's indispensable. She has a passion for working. You can't do this to her "

" There's nothing I can do. If I said she's fired she's fired. Naomi will take her place before I find another person. My decision is final. You better accept it" she snapped also

' she needs this job. Carla Alvin can't dictate what happens in our company. It's not done' he reasoned with her but her mind was already set.

' yes, he does. He controls more than you can possibly comprehend. He rules this country. You've no idea who you're dealing with. She's not Worth it. Dante, I'm done having this conversation with you. I've work to do" she stated engrossed in her work.

" That's not happening. She's not going to end up unemployed because of me" he muttered which Carla ignored.

" I think she must have pissed him off. Stay away from that lady. She's trouble. There are millions of unmarried girls out there ready to give anything to have you. Why waste it on a taken woman? For God's sake Dante she's married to two times billionaire. Someone beyond us. I can't help you further especially when it comes to him. My hands are tied" she tried to be rational after all it wasn't his fault he fell for a married woman.

" Believe me I've tried. Carla, I can't get her out of my head. She needs my help. I'll not rest until I fulfill my promise to her. She's counting on me. She has no one else. Pity her. She's not from here either. She's in a strange land suffering at the hands of a monster. Carla, I'm begging you" he changed routine pleading instead.

" I feel sorry for her but there's nothing we can do for her. She's blacklisted already. Alvin has taken action against her. Let this go. I don't want to lose this company because of some puppy love. Something that has no future. It's obvious he's sending a message to you. believe me, you won't like his next move. Mom worked hard for this company. Will you jeopardize her effort on your so-called love? Think about it" she knew how much he loved their mother so she used it as her last bargain.

Dante retreated storming out in anger. He did that in a period of two days? He wondered dialing her number again but she didn't pick either. She wasn't returning his calls or messages. He feared for her life. He'd received her message which stated that he knew about the cameras. So he took preventive measures to keep the footage safe but was she safe? He was dying to know then he saw Naomi, he had a way ' he thought approaching her.

" Hello Naomi, have you heard from Kate? He went straight to the point.

" Not yet. She's not picking my calls. I was planning to visit her later in the day after work" she tells him " do you want to come? She intentionally asked aware of his response

" No. I wanted to talk to her. My sister fired her. That's something I'll like to apologize for. Can I've your number so that I can call you when you get there" he asked as she nods giving him her phone then he dialed the number realizing it was already there. He looked at her then at the phone wondering how she got it.

" You've it already"

" Really? Maybe Kate used it to call you. I didn't know it was saved" she said in pretense. He shrugged handing her the phone

" I'll just take yours then" he stated as she dialed her number for him.

" Thanks" with that said he left while she heaved a sigh of relief that was close' she muttered dusting her suit. She was the new personnel manager how cool was that.
