For some reason, Kate slept the whole day while Dante and Naomi went ahead to check the resort out.
" I'm sorry if I was rude earlier Sir Lorenzo" came Naomi's voice
" It's okay. I overreacted. I wasn't in a good mood. Sorry for yelling at you" she smiled shaking her head in disagreement. " I think I deserve it" they both laughed. The rest of the walk was quiet and peaceful. Naomi didn't know how to seduce him. He didn't show interest in her.
They returned to the hotel and met Kate speaking with the event planner making adjustments to their original plans. Naomi looked at Dante stare at her like she's the only girl in the world then Kate saw them.
" Hey guys, why didn't you wake me up? It's a good thing someone called. What have you found so far? She asked a dazed Dante
" We've checked the main hall and their culinary skill. It'll do. You can make adjustments too. My job is to provide the money" he stated with a smile.
" I was hoping we could chill out. You know get to know how things are done here and Kate you've to change that outfit" Naomi suggested but Dante refused " not today. I'm pretty tired from the flight. Tomorrow is another day" he stated leaving.
" Kate c'mon, let's have a party. Alvin isn't here to stop you. Be yourself while You're still young" she urged dragging her to the clubhouse
" The music is too loud and I know it's a crazy party. Maybe tomorrow Naomi. I'm here to work" with that said she left. Naomi whined and followed her watching her access the auditorium and the high table.
" Aren't you taking this too personal, it's the work of the event planner, not you. You're just a supervisor" she stated which Kate agreed to resume her job
" Maybe you're trying to get your mind off things like the idea of having Alvin in bed with someone who isn't you " she stated startling Kate who dropped her cellphone then picked it.
" He could be in bed with someone else you know? I mean let's say he is what would you do? Kate just shrugged and continued recording then replied" nothing. I'm getting used to it perhaps she's helping me. Even if I caught him red-handed. Well,. Nothing actually. It's his body not mine"
" And if it's the other way round. Maybe he was the one that caught you in bed with someone else. What do you think he'll do? The thought alone had her stiffening " cripple me perhaps kill me. Whatever he chooses to do it won't be something good. I don't have the intentions of cheating on him again" she sputtered looking at the windows and the roof
" You better. He's scary and damn hot" Naomi chimed to conceal her disappointment " and the one-night stand dude? Do you wish to see him again? One second two seconds three seconds four seconds and there was no words from Kate. She took it as a yes " girl, was he that good? Just how many rounds did you get? She asked playfully but Kate remained silent.
' I'm done here. Let's go to sleep now" she suggested leading the way while Naomi followed.
Kate wanted to tell Naomi that Dante was the guy but she was ashamed of herself. She didn't want Naomi to read meaning to everything he says to her so she kept it to herself.
After getting ready for the night, she picked her phone to call Alvin and saw a photo of him and Cynthia together in the living room. It seems they were kissing. She tossed it away to get her beauty sleep.
Cynthia tried her best to make Alvin accept her back but he wouldn't touch her without Kate's presence so she settled for the photos. She would take photos at random and send them to Kate.
As a personnel manager, she sat at the end of the hall to watch them do their thing. The chef will bring different cuisine for her to taste. She Would give him a high five if it's okay and would add something new to it to savor the taste. So she spent the whole day tasting different cuisine that she feared for her taste bud though the chefs would advise her to inhale the aroma she preferred tasting for safety precautions.
There she was sitting beside Naomi on the beach watching waves.
" Good evening ladies. Here" said Dante handing Kate a cup of ice cream and a latte for Naomi
" Ooh thanks," they said in unison. Kate was excited licking the ice cream
" Let me have a taste" Naomi chimed scooping a spoonful of ice cream " hmm . Let's share " she suggested as Kate scoffed
" Kate, want to get more ice cream? She nods then he dragged her up handing the cup of ice cream to Naomi who was glad.
" There it is. How did you know I love ice cream?
" I just know. Basic instinct. You look lovely" he commented as she blushed looking at her casual jumpsuit. It hugs her figure perfectly.
" C'mon let's join the queue" he dragged her to the ice cream stand holding her hands. She looked at his hands then at his joyous face then focused on the people buying ice cream
" It's our turn c'mon. " They strolled beside the sea hand in hand.
" How was today?
" Fine. Nothing too difficult for me. You seem happy, Do you have a new case?
" Not really. I'm a DA at some point. Just happy to be here with you. You smile a lot now. Beautiful as always. Just like the first day I met you. " He said as she smiled
" Seeing you happy makes me happy. Do I make you happy? He halts putting a hand around her waist drawing her closer. She didn't know if she would ever be happy again. She thought been away from Alvin was the happiness she sought but it turns out she wasn't happy either. Just free from his canal desires and hurtful remarks.
" I don't know what happiness means anymore. C'mon let's win something" she called out to him wriggling out of his hold. He smiled and joined her
" Your ice cream is melting. Here try mine" he offered to feed her his. She chuckled having had too much from him " I'm going to puke if you don't stop. Put it away" but he insisted pointing it to her mouth. She moved away from him but he kept chasing around with it.
Naomi stood a mile away watching them run around the beach like newly Weds. She walked closer and saw Kate laughing like she own the world and she didn't miss the way Dante stared at her like it was his duty to make her smile. Her jaw dropped as Dante caught her scooping the ice cream in her mouth then licked the cream at the corner of her lips, she burst into a burst of loud laughter. ' has she lost her mind?.
She ignored it and made her presence known. Kate stopped smiling the moment she saw a pissed Naomi. " Let's win some gift then" she ran off to try while Dante and Naomi were having a staring contest.
" Naomi, we were just having fun" Kate defended
" You're married, Kate. Don't you know what that means" she snapped
" I don't feel like I'm married. Okay ok, I'm sorry. i want the black teddy bear. Please" she cooed but Naomi was too upset to grant her wish
" Tell him to get it for you' she reproached. She had to watch Dante and Kate scream whenever they win and Dante did win the teddy bear for Kate.
Kate was petting the fluffy bear when Naomi suggested something" the night isn't complete without clubbing. Kate, you love dancing" Dante agreed because Kate asked him beside Naomi wanted to see if she was that smitten with him and they fell into her trap.
" Wanna relive our moments together? Dante asked as Kate chuckled waving hands as a no
" Don't be shy. You're a good dancer" he coaxed leading her to the dancefloor
" This is so crazy. It's our fourth day here so we better get to it " she exclaimed dancing off the beat that had Dante and Naomi laughing at her outrageous dance steps
" You're embarrassing us, Kate," Naomi tells her but she didn't caretake a drink from a boy " thanks" then gulped it down calling Dante with her index finger
" Wanna really dance? She asked using him as a dancing pole for her moves: twirling, caressing, stroking, and straddling not that he minded. Everyone applauded her by the time she was done. She had her legs around him with her hands in the air smiling uncontrollably.
" You're perfect. That was hot" he tells her as she giggled dropping her legs which he stopped halfway down caressing it. Kate's panting decreased sensing she must have aroused him.
' Dante, it wasn't what I meant "
" Then what do you mean? Kate, you don't know what you're doing to me. It's not fair. How can you stay faithful to someone who isn't. ' he was yelling. Some people looked their way which had Kate leaving in embarrassment.
Dante ran a hand through his hair in frustration then ran after her.
Kate was too embarrassed that she didn't see the familiar face staring at her from the corner of the VIP box.
