Chapter 15: Chapter 15

Naina's POV

Finally, five days were finished and during these five days Ranveer always made sure that I was fine.

I was so moved by his gentleness and care because nobody had taken such care of me.

As I had no Mom, Kamla aunty explained me about it but for the first time someone was taking such a great care of me.

"Thank you for everything,” I said as he came out of the bathroom.

His hair was wet and he was only wrapped up in a towel and water was dripping around his chest and lost under his towel.

I don’t know why my throat became dry as he came and sat beside me.

"Naina, you have become a very important part of my life. After my Mom you are the only person with whom I am close," he said as he put a strand of my hair behind my ear.

"You are so beautiful," he caressed my cheek.

"I can’t wait for the day you will finally become mine," he sighed.

"Ranveer, give me some more time. Please."

I can't be with Ranveer when I have someone else in my heart.

It will be unfair to Ranveer.

What?

Why am I thinking about Ranveer's feeling?

I should think about Sameer, not Ranveer.

"Why are you sitting? Go and get ready then I will drop you to Mom's house."

On the way to Mom’s house Ranveer called Daya uncle and asked him not to come today.

We reached Mom’s house in about twenty minutes.

We rang the doorbell and after few minutes his Mom opened the door.

"Wow! What a pleasant surprise," Mom exclaimed excitedly.

"Mom where is my hug?" Ranveer asked and we both laughed and then she hugged Ranveer.

"Come inside," she said and I went inside.

"No Mom, I have an important meeting to attend," he said and left after bidding us goodbye.

"You have a beautiful house," I said as I roamed around her house.

It was a small house consisting of one bedroom and a hall but it was beautiful.

"Thank you,” she said and we both sat together.

"So how is married life going?" she asked.

"We are trying to understand each other," I told her.

Was that a lie?

No, that is not lie.

"That's good. Wait, I will show you some childhood pictures of Ranveer,” she said and left and after few minutes came with an album and kept it on the table.

"Wow.. He was so cute," I said as I was going through the album.

"Yes. He was a calm child but when he is angry, then no one can control him,” she said.

I know Mom.

I have seen his angry side too.

"How was his childhood?" I asked.

Curious much?

My heart mocked me.

If I say I am not curious it will be a lie.

I want to know more about him.

"He never used to mix with someone and live in his own shell due to me and his father's relationship. For him I got a divorce and moved here when he was ten years old," she said.

"Ranveer's father..I mean..?" I wanted to ask about their relation but I don’t know if I have the right to ask about them or not.

"I will tell you some other day," she said.

"Okay Mom," I said and once again went back to look at the album.

He was always handsome.

Shut up Naina! Why are you having such thoughts about Ranveer?

"After you finish seeing the album I will take you to our NGO. It's a ten minute walk from the house."

She said and after I finished seeing all the pictures of Ranveer and Mom we decided to go to NGO .

I noticed that there was not a single picture of his Dad.

She locked the house and we both started walking towards the NGO.

"What does your NGO deals with?" I asked.

"Women with physical and mental abuse," she replied.

"There are many women who are suffering with abuse but cannot leave the house due to various reason but one of the main reason is they are not financially dependent so anyone who is suffering and wants to get out of the suffering are welcome here. Then we found that many women have different qualities like designing, tailoring, painting,

dancing and many other talents but most of the women were good at tailoring. So we taught the others tailoring and decided to start a clothing business and the amount is distributed in everyone,” she explained.

"You are doing a wonderful job, Mom. I always thought that women would not dare to leave the house even if she is suffering." I said.

"You are right, now also there are few women who does not leave the house due to some beliefs but I always think one thing."

"What?" I asked.

"Someone had to start then others will automatically follow, so I started it," she said as we arrived at the NGO named 'Powerful Peace."

"Wow! I love the name,” I exclaimed happily and she smiled.

We went inside and everyone stopped their work and surrounded us.

"Who is she?" everyone asked.

"She is Naina, Ranveer's wife," Mom introduced and everybody was shocked.

"We wanted to attend his wedding so badly as he is like our brother but he married in such a haste that we knew about the wedding after he got married,” one of them said and another aunty got a chair for me to sit down and all of them surrounded me.

“She is so beautiful."

"Yes, and she looks so cute."

"Naina is such a beautiful name."

"He is a perfect match for our Ranveer bhai."

They were talking among each other.

"Everybody, go and show her the place," I got up to leave and they were excited like a child to show me everything.

I saw some rooms with beds and some room with the tailoring machine.

"We like you," they said in unison.

"I like all of you," I told them and we did a group hug and went towards Mom.

"Madam, we decided to organize a party here for our Ranveer bhai and Naina bhabi on Saturday," one of them said.

"When did you decided?" Mom asked.

"Just now," they all said in unison and they were pleading Mom to give them permission to organize the party.

"Okay. Okay. I give you the permission,” she said and they all started screaming excitedly.

"Bhabhi, please come here with Ranveer bhai by 6 p.m.” they said and I agreed.

I bid goodbye to everyone.

"I will take a leave as I want to spend some time with my daughter-in-law,” Mom said and then we both left the place.

"I love them. You have done a great job Mom," I said.

"Can you believe if I say I have seen some of the women in worst condition. Swollen face ,mark of belts on their body."

"Oh my god! No. They are so nice. Why would anyone harm them?" I asked.

"We will never know the answer of 'why?' " she said.

"Anyways, they are very excited for both of you. They will leave all the work and start organizing for the party," she said as we both laughed thinking about their excitement.

After almost ten minutes we reached her house.

During lunch Mom made rice and chola curry.

I tried to help her but she refused.

We had our lunch and we were talking as the doorbell rang and I saw Ranveer and there was a small smile on my face as I saw a bouquet of white roses in his hand.

I realized one thing.

I am growing attached to Ranveer and Mom.

And it is frightening me.
