Chapter 545: Chapter 545

Ling Chuxia caught up with Shi Che just as he was entering the elevator. She squeezed in quickly before the doors closed.

Shi Che, feeling a bit heavy in the head, leaned lightly against the steel wall of the elevator. His dark eyes lifted slightly and flickered when he caught sight of Ling Chuxia, but in less than a second, they returned to their deep darkness.

His voice was nearly devoid of warmth when he spoke, "You can get off work now."

Ling Chuxia clenched her fists tightly and then curved her lips into a smile, looking over at Shi Che, "I know, but as I’ve mentioned before, I’m your secretary. I need to take good care of you. You’re drunk now and also have a headache. I have to ensure you get back to your room safely."

Listening to Ling Chuxia calling herself a secretary over and over, Shi Che just felt an intensifying headache. He frowned irritably and said, "No need, I can walk back on my own!"

Just then, the elevator door opened and Shi Che stepped out. But it was unclear if it was out of annoyance or drunkenness, Shi Che stumbled, his body lurching forward.

Ling Chuxia acted quickly, reaching out to support him. Shi Che steadied himself with her help. However, the moment he was stable, his expression grew even more unsightly. He fiercely shook off Ling Chuxia’s hand and strode towards his room.

This was the first time Ling Chuxia had seen Shi Che in such a flustered rage. She couldn’t help but let out a snort of laughter, which was a bit louder than intended. Shi Che, walking ahead, seemed to hear it, and his steps abruptly paused before he resumed striding away.

Seeing this, Ling Chuxia smiled with curved eyes and brows, the tension smoothing away.

As Shi Che was about to walk further away, Ling Chuxia quickly composed herself and chased after him again. Yet Shi Che radiated an icy aura, giving off a vibe that he was rejecting anyone who approached. Ling Chuxia didn’t dare to rashly reach out for him, but she still followed closely behind, always vigilant in case he fell and she couldn’t react promptly.

This time, however, Shi Che made it to the door of the suite without issue. As he reached to open the door, he hesitated for a moment, then sidled his face sideways, his dark, now slightly drunken eyes scanning Ling Chuxia. His voice was still as cold as before, "You can leave now."

After pausing, his lips curled with a hint of sarcasm, "There’s only so much a secretary can do."

Ling Chuxia felt a chill in her heart; she indeed wanted... to go in to take care of him. But she knew that following him here was already the most she could do as a diligent secretary. If she were to go in and take care of him, that would exceed the boundaries of her job.

Although she was genuinely worried about him, at that moment, all she could do was slowly nod, her voice somewhat low, "I’ll watch you go in, then I’ll leave."

Shi Che scoffed coldly, withdrew his gaze, took out the key card, swiped it, turned the handle forcibly, and stepped into the room.

Ling Chuxia watched the room door slowly close in front of her, her gaze gradually filling with a touch of loss. She sighed and was about to turn away when, suddenly, she heard a loud thud in her ears, like something had fallen to the ground.

Ling Chuxia was startled and then her heart sank. Could it be...that Shi Che had fallen because he hadn’t stabilized himself?
