"What! You say what?" Khloe needed to be double sure that she heard correctly.

"Yes Khloe I am in Korea.."

"No, that is not what I find shocking." Khloe cut her off. "I am more surprised that he took you to see his parents. "Wow! Lucky you and not to mention, so soon too?"

Catherine chuckled. "Yes Khloe and do you want to hear something funny?"

"Yeah girl spill it out."

"Adam actually lied to me at first." Catherine paused a little, letting Khloe digest the information before continuing. "But he apologized later on for his mistake."

"Okay, so what did he lie about?"

"At first, he pretended we were actually coming for a business trip not knowing it was to meet his grandma who has been pestering him to bring home a woman.

"Oh, I see," Khloe chuckled.

"You see what?" I furrowed my brow questioningly trying to understand what she was driving at.

"You know, the whole family thing."

"Okay so what about it?" To me it felt like Khloe was giving only half information and leaving the juicy part to herself.

"It is clear to me now why your boss took you to his family. It is because he was being forced to bring home a woman and nothing more. Not because he finds you special or something." Her words stung me because it is the truth.

For a moment there, I was left to believe I meant something more to him although we just met but things like that happen but most especially in movies. I was starting to believe it was actually starting to happen to me in real life but again, I was wrong.

I became angry at myself for believing his sweet words in the car when he said I was special to him. It was all a lie and nothing more.

I wanted to cry but the tears weren't coming out. I can't believe it was only an instrument to get in my pants.

"Ah" I gasped as realization dawned on me. This explains why he was upset when I told him we can't share the bed, he found out that his evil plan won't work if that happened.

"Cathy, is everything okay?"

"Y..Yes I am fine."

"Are you sure?" Khloe was starting to get scared that something bad had happen to me.

"Yes, I was just thinking. And you know what"

"What?"

"You are right. There is sense in what you said."

"You think so?" Khloe sounded surprised.

"Yes. Please tell me more, what do you make of this whole situation?" I wanted to know more because I was starting to think my whole judgement has become faulty because of Adam.

"I really don't know for now, it is still too early for me to be sure. I am still trying to understand the whole situation with your boss."

"Okay, so what do you think Khloe? Please tell me, don't hesitate."

"I think," she stutters a little. "I think your boss is using you Cathy."

What! Now what is left of my heart was shattered. I don't know why I was so surprised. I guess hearing the words and feeling it are a whole ball game.

"Cathy, are you still there?" Khloe became worried when I went silent.

"Yes, I am here just thinking and spanking myself for being so stupid you know."

"Cathy please don't assume anything yet, I am still not sure. I am only assuming based on what you told me that is all." She tried to reason with me but I was beyond reasoning.

My mind has already been made up because I felt I had seen it all.

"No babe you are right. I am happy for your words of wisdom, you have made me see clearer." I thanked her from the bottom of my heart. I feel so blessed to have such an amazing friend.

"When we see I would like us to talk more then, you can tell me everything again from scratch. Okay?"

"Okay." I smiled at her although she couldn't see me. I wish she was here then I would have given her a big hug for stopping me from making a big mistake thinking Adam actually feels something for me when he doesn't.

"Have to go now babe, my baby boo is here." She said before hanging up.

Catherine was about to ask her what her new lover's name was since she never got the chance to ask her but Khloe was in such a hurry to be with her lover that she didn't wait to hear her.

"Great, I will just call her some other time." I said to myself before trying to unpack then I remembered I haven't spoken to mom yet.

Picking back my phone, I dialed mom's number. At the first ring she answered.

"Hello sweetheart, I have been expecting your call." Mom's calm voice came from the receiving end.

"I am so sorry I was just so busy with things that it kind of slipped my mind."

"Are you okay? You sound sad." I could hear the panic in her voice.

"Yes mom, I am fine, just very tired." It wasn't a complete lie. I was actually tired but from Adam constant lies.

"Alright dear. So tell me, how was your trip?"

'My trip?' I said to myself as bittersweet memories of what happened in the plane came back to my subconscious. I wanted to scream it was bad, in fact terrible but I couldn't tell mother that.

"It was fine mom, in fact super good. You know." I pause a little to make my breath even again before continuing. "We rode his private jet."

Mother chuckled upon hearing the excitement in my voice. "Well I am not surprised. I am happy you enjoyed your trip. What of Adam, is he there I would like to speak to him."

"Ohm no, he kind of stepped out not too long ago. But when he returns I will tell him to give you a call." 'That is if he would listen to me since I have ruined his amazing plan,' I said to myself feeling so sad at how unlucky I am in love.

"Alright dear, that is fine." She said before coughing but not too seriously.

"Mother, are you okay?" I don't like the way she was coughing. Mother never coughs like that.

"Yes sweetheart, I am fine." She responded before coughing again.

"No mom, I don't think you're fine. You need to visit the doctor or call him over to check on you now."

"Sweetheart relax, it is just a cough

Don't worry too much over it, okay?"

"Why won't I worry?" Without warning the tears started falling but i don't know if it was as a result of the cough or Adam.

But maybe it was both.

"Hey baby, don't cry."

"You are my mother, so tell me mom why won't I worry? I love you."

"It is alright, don't cry anymore please it breaks my heart. I love you too baby. I will make sure I visit the doctor okay"

"Promise?" I needed my mother to promise me only then will my heart be at rest.

"Yes sweetheart, I promise."

That brought a smile to my face. "Thank you. So how is Dad doing?" The whole trip thing and meeting Adam family has made me forget about my own family's welfare, the only people that truly cares about me.

"He is fine, don't worry about him too. He is resting right now."

"Alright mom, I love you both. Take care of yourselves, bye!" I blew a kiss over the phone before hanging up.

"Now it is time to unpack and then freshen up." I said to myself before setting off to get my task done and promising myself not to think of Adam as I do it.
