Chapter 75: Chapter 75
AMAR
June 05 2018
"Amar.." I look up from the man that is tied to a chair bleeding and my gaze clashes with Vankos.
He is scowling with his phone in his hand. "What is it?" I flick my wrists.
Blood splatters across the floor, staining the white carpet and I pick up the rag on the table using it to wipe my grazed knuckles.
I look over my shoulder to one of my soldiers standing in the corner of the room. He has his gun pointed at the unlucky son of a bitch I was just giving a face beating to.
"Take him back to his room, clean his face and give him something hot to eat," I demand. "I don't want the bastard dying on me before he gives up any information."
"Yes, Lord Amar."
His voice travels down the corridors with me as I follow Vanko out of the room.
"What's wrong?" I ask him, continuing to clean the blood from my knuckles.
"It's Mal." He says with a sigh and the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
I glare at him through narrowed eyes, "What do you mean, it's Mal?" I ask through gritted teeth.
He takes a deep breath and rubs the back of his neck. "She's been arrested for the murder of your pappoùs." (Grandfather)
I turn my back to him, pinching the bridge of my nose as I concentrate on my breathing. I gave her the space she required and within less than 28hrs of my departure, the corrupt policemen have arrested her.
I turn back around and face Vanko. "Fuel the Jet," I order as I run my hands through my hair.
He nods his head. "I've already informed the flight crew and we should be ready to fly out within the next hour."
"Good." I brush past him to pack a bag.
"Amar,"
I stop with my back still facing him.
"I'm sorry." He says with his voice full of remorse.
I nod my head and proceed to walk away.
I walk away for his safety.
I want nothing more than to turn around and beat the shit out of him. We both know she has been targeted because of Aces disappearance. First, they tried to go through Caddie to get to us and Vanko eliminated that notion.
Now the bastards are trying to go through my wife and it's the most uneducated decision on their behalf. You see, I don't have to walk into the station flashing my 'I'm a lawyer' ID. I go to their superiors and give them one look that will get me whatever the fuck I want.
And today, I want their badges and their home addresses. Mother fuckers are going to wish they never laid a hand on my wife.
>>> 30 hrs later..
I enter the police station, trailed by a few of my men. I stroll past the slob with a disgusted expression on my face as he sits at the front desk drinking a can of Pepsi. He looks at us with wide eyes, reaching for the croissant in front of him.
"Oh, no brother. Please don't get up." Vanko barks sarcastically as he shakes his head.
We take a left, then a right and I walk into Detective Evie's office. She has her phone pressed against her ear and she doesn't even look surprised to see me. Instead of ending the call, she holds her hand up.
I look at Nico and he walks to her side and snatches the phone out of her grasp, crushing it with his hand.
"Was that necessary?" She asks as she glares at Nico before she returns her attention to me.
(Yes.) "Nai, you arrested my wife. Give me one good reason why I shouldn't shoot your fucking brains out." I snarl as I lean over her shitty desk and get in her face.
"It was either me or the corrupt fuckers in this building." She hisses. "Where... She would have been raped, beaten and left for dead."
A violent growl escapes between my lips when I think about another man laying his filthy paws on my wife.
"Should I be thanking you?" I scoff.
She rolls her eyes and pushes back in her chair. "You're apologies don't mean shit to me." She reaches into the top draw of her desk and pulls out a set of keys, slamming them down on top of her desk. "She's being held in cell 22." She steps back, crossing her arms across her chest.
"I don't need your help." I chuckle, "I just need to make one phone call and she'll be released along with you all losing your badges."
"Maybe, but the van is here to pick her up. They're just waiting for my authorization and I can guarantee you that these goons won't know they're being pursued by Ace's angry mob of men who are seeking revenge on his behalf."
"What do you want in return?"
I am obliged to ask because everyone is always looking for something in return. No act of kindness is overlooked.
"I want you to leave the country as quick as you can. Get her out of here and give her the good life that she deserves." Her hands curl into tight balls at her side. "You're the last person I would call upon, but, you're here and you've murdered the bastard that ruined her life. It shows that you do care-"
"Love. I love her." I growl with irritation. "There's something about the Diamandis men that no one knows about."
"Which is?"
"Once we fall in love, we fall hard and there is no escaping us." I openly declare.
She shakes her head, "Doesn't sound creepy at all." She leans forward and slides the keys towards me once again.
"What's in this for you?" I ask her full of curiosity.
"I want you to get the fuck out of my country so I can try and clean up the filth from the streets that you helped to create." She appoints her focus towards Vanko.
I snatch the keys from her desk and storm out of the room, passing the keys to Vanko. The more time I stand there arguing the more time my precious and impulsive wife remains behind bars.
"Go get her, I'll be waiting in the car just in case she refuses to come when she sees me. Besides, I'm about a breathe away from shooting this place up." I mutter as I motion for two men to follow me. "Don't hesitate to put a bullet in anyone who gets in your way."
>>>
The car door opens and Mal slides in with her arms wrapped around her body as she shivers. A lick of vengeance stains my skin.
(Little one.) "Mikros." I breathe out.
Her head snaps to the side and when her gorgeous brown eyes collide with mine, I swear my heart misses two beats or three.
"Amar?" She chokes out with tears stinging her eyes. "You came back for me?"
I hold my arms wide open, "Of course I did." I grumble.
How can she think otherwise!!
Have I not made my feelings for her clear?
She scoots over, resting her trembling body against mine and laying her head on my chest.
She starts to cry, "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry about everything." She rubs her face against my chest.
Wrapping my arms around her trembling body, I kiss her on the head. "You have no choice but to accompany me back to Greece," I say as I run my fingers through her hair.
She looks up at me with watery eyes and sniffles. "I will follow you to the ends of the world knowing that you'll do the same for me." She pulls back, with a faint smile on her face. "I missed you." She says sadly. "Even when I was with you, I missed you and I don't want to feel that way anymore."
I start to panic, "What are you trying to say?"
(I love you ) "Se agapò, Amar. I love you so much I find it hard to breathe when you're not around." Her voice cracks with the amount of emotion she is exuding from her heart and it's beautiful.
I stare at her, speechlessly memorised by her bravery.
"I hope I pronounced the words right." She says sheepishly.
She's so fucking marvellous I don't deserve her. But I could never give her up and I'm thankful that she's finally come to her goddamn senses. I wrap my hands around her face and I gaze into her glassy eyes.
"You said it perfectly. Ki ego se agapò." (I love you too.) I say roughly, crushing my lips against hers as I seal our testimony of love with a passionate kiss.
