Chapter 379: Chapter 379

Gu Moqian raised a hand to rub his temple, his expression serious as he looked at Zimei: "Are you sure you want to get out of the car?"

Zimei nodded without hesitation.

A mocking smile suddenly curved at the corner of Gu Moqian’s lips: "Boss Zi, don’t overestimate yourself. You’re pale as a sheet right now, the wind could knock you over. Are you sure you’re not just coming to be a burden?"

Zimei’s face stiffened. She stared at Gu Moqian for a long moment before snorting defiantly: "Mr. Gu, same to you! You’ve been shot in the abdomen—you’re just adding to the trouble."

"I’m a man; Boss Zi, you really think you can compare to me?" Gu Moqian’s brows furrowed tightly, a clear sign he was angry.

"Except in front of A Cheng, I’ve never considered myself a woman!" Zimei shot back, unwilling to back down.

"Alright, alright! That’s enough! Stop fighting!"

Xi Nanfeng suddenly interrupted their argument with a loud voice, his expression uncommonly stern: "This isn’t a joke! We’re going to save someone, and we can’t afford to lose more people in the process. I’ve already decided—I’ll take the lead and scout the situation. I seldom get a chance to play the hero, so don’t even think about arguing with me! Anyone who argues, I’ll fight them!"

"Brother Nanfeng, you—"

Xi Nanfeng abruptly cut Qin Sixue off, scolding firmly with a fierce expression: "Stop crying! I can’t stand women who cry. Sit tight in the car and wait for me to come back! Got it?"

Qin Sixue was stunned by his serious tone, momentarily unable to react.

Xi Nanfeng pulled out his pistol and motioned for the other two men inside the car to get out with him.

"Old Xi, stop right there!" Gu Moqian suddenly shouted.

Xi Nanfeng knew what he was going to say, but given the current situation, his departure was the most logical move. Without wasting any time, he shot a quick glance at Ji Wei.

One force counters another, and only Ji Wei could rein Gu Moqian in.

Ji Wei was genuinely concerned for Xi Nanfeng. As she prepared to speak, she noticed Gu Moqian about to rise in protest and quickly grabbed him by the sleeve: "Mo Qian, if you’re really going to go, I’ll go with you."

Gu Moqian turned to look at her, hesitating.

In the brief moment of hesitation, Xi Nanfeng had already jumped out and slammed the car door shut.

Qin Sixue leaned out the window and shouted at him: "Brother Nanfeng, you must come back safely! I’ll be waiting for you!" Tears streamed down her face.

Xi Nanfeng’s back stiffened, but he didn’t turn around. He simply waved his hand coolly behind him.

Tears blurred her vision instantly. Qin Sixue covered her mouth, her shoulders trembling uncontrollably.

The off-road vehicle was parked in a concealed spot two blocks away from Yamamoto Yu’s villa.

Inside the car, everyone’s hearts were on edge.

Could Second Young Master Xi, who couldn’t even hit a rabbit, really bring Ye Cheng back?

As the minutes ticked by, everyone grew more anxious.

"Weiwei, keep an eye on them. I’m going down to check things out," Gu Moqian said, hunching as he stepped out of the car.

Zimei tried to follow, but Ji Wei stopped her: "Boss Zi, now’s not the time to act on impulse."

Zimei glanced at her but ultimately lay back down silently, slamming her hand hard against the car window. The overwhelming frustration made her face pale even further.

Ji Wei felt uncomfortable watching her but didn’t know how to offer comfort.

Just as Gu Moqian had taken only a few steps away from the car, suddenly an explosion erupted near Yamamoto Yu’s villa, sending a towering fireball into the sky!

Everyone was instantly shaken!

Ji Wei glanced at Gu Moqian, who had stopped dead in his tracks, and quickly opened the car door.

Zimei and Qin Sixue followed closely behind.

"What the hell just happened?" Ji Wei asked, staring at the billowing black smoke and flames, her voice trembling.

Qin Sixue was shaking uncontrollably, mumbling to herself in despair: "No, it can’t be... Brother Nanfeng promised me he’d come back safely..."
