Chapter 369: Chapter 369

Ji Chuyang thought Ji Wei would leave as soon as she got the phone, but to his surprise, she walked straight to the sofa nearby and sat down. Her clear black eyes surged with intense hatred, staring at Ji Chuyang so hard that he felt his skin crawl.

"W-What else do you want?" Ji Chuyang asked nervously.

Ji Wei toyed with the fruit knife in her hand, speaking seemingly nonchalantly, "I told you last time, I have a way to get you out of here. Want to hear it?"

Recalling the kick that had sent him brutally into the swimming pool last time, Ji Chuyang’s head still throbbed at the memory.

He didn’t believe for a second that Ji Wei would kindly help him and couldn’t help but sneer, "You and Gu Moqian hate me to the core. You helping me out of goodwill? Only an idiot would believe that!"

Though he truly loathed this place that robbed him of his freedom, it was still better than going outside only to be snuffed out by the two of them.

"Don’t believe me? Fine, forget it then."

Ji Wei didn’t push further. She stood up and strode toward the door.

As Ji Chuyang saw her really leaving, a sudden panic rose in his heart, and he quickly called out, "Wait! What’s your idea? At least tell me first!"

If he missed this opportunity, who knew how long he’d be stuck in Yamamoto Yu’s grasp.

Old Master Ji had promised to visit him when he had time, but it had already been over a month since he came to Tokyo, and he hadn’t seen even a shadow of him. He hadn’t been able to contact anyone else in the Ji Family either. It felt as if he’d been marooned on a deserted island, utterly isolated. This torment was worse than death for him.

Ji Chuyang’s inner world seethed with unease and despair, leaving him to squander time in a daze, wrecking himself internally.

Ji Wei knew he’d taken the bait. A barely perceptible smirk curled the corners of her lips as she turned back and walked toward him again.

Ji Wei pulled out her phone, typed a message onto it, and then handed it over to Ji Chuyang.

When Ji Chuyang finished reading, his eyes widened in shock.

"This will get someone killed! No way am I doing this!" Ji Chuyang refused without hesitation.

Ji Wei glanced toward the door, ensuring no black-clad guards had followed them. She raised an eyebrow, "Fine, don’t cooperate. Just rot here under Yamamoto Yu’s watch until you die of old age. You seem to be living the high life here, after all."

With that, she turned and started to leave.

Ji Chuyang stared at her retreating figure, turmoil raging inside him. At last, he gritted his teeth and blurted, "Fine! I’ll do what you say! But you have to promise that after we escape from here, you’ll let me go."

Ji Wei raised her eyebrows, but an icy glint lingered in her eyes.

Gu Moqian was searching for Ye Cheng’s whereabouts with his team when they ran into a squad of black-clad men led by Dongye, who were relentlessly chasing after Ye Cheng’s car. Follow current novels on nοvelfire.net

Gu Moqian’s sudden appearance turned the tide just in time. After shaking off Dongye’s men, the group raced back to their hideout without pause.

However, the moment they stepped into the front yard, Gu Moqian noticed something was off.

The entire residence was eerily quiet, without a hint of sound.

The group cautiously made their way into the living room, when suddenly, someone lunged out from behind the door!

That person raised a thick wooden staff, just about to smash it onto Gu Moqian’s head, but as soon as they saw who it was, they froze instantly.

Xi Nanfeng stared in shock at the group of people before him.

"Old Xi, what’s going on?" Gu Moqian asked, his face dark and grim.

Xi Nanfeng heaved a sigh of relief and lowered the wooden staff. "I thought Yamamoto Yu’s men had come back."

Gu Moqian’s eyes narrowed. "Yamamoto Yu’s men have been here?"

Xi Nanfeng nodded with a sullen expression. "Yes, they came. They took Ji Xiaowei away."

"What did you just say?!"

Gu Moqian’s face turned icy cold in an instant as he grabbed Xi Nanfeng by the collar with a swift motion.
