Chapter 47: Chapter 47

Krystal POV

My heart raced as I tried to break free from his grip. I would never allow any of them take me.

I know that I am in trouble and I need to find a way out quickly. But my attempts to escape only made the men laugh louder and close in on me.

“You are Madison’s friend, aren’t you?” one of them asked but I remained quiet. Another grabbed my jaw as he dived his nails on my cheeks, I tighten my eyes in pain but still, I said nothing.

“You don’t want to talk right?”

“You think you are doing her any good? well you would be coming with us then.”

“Did you check if Madison’s home?” one of them asked and another nods his head, “Yes, but she isn’t.” he replied

What if Madison never left?

Suddenly, a tall figure appeared out of nowhere, standing before us with his bent low.

“Who is that over there?” the one holding me asked. I stare deeply at the figure then realized who it is.

It was Adrian, a handsome man I know to be another member of the Mafia but different from the rest. He had always seemed kinder and more gentle, and I know deep down that he has a soft spot for me.

"Let her go," Adrian growled. The four men exchanged a look before circling him, fists raised.

I fell to the ground immediately they let go of me, breathing heavily.

I raised my head up and my heart sank as I realized that Adrian was about to fight them all off for me.

What if he gets hurt?

No, he would eventually get hurt in my place.

The scene before me was a blur as Adrian took on all four men at once. Despite being outnumbered, he held his own, landing swift and brutal blows with a grace and ferocity that left me reeling.

“How could he be this hot even when fighting.” I thought.

I watched in breathless awe as Adrian took down each of the men with expert precision, his movements breathtaking in their fluidity and lightning-fast reflexes. I have never seen anyone fight like this before, Even Kingsley that used to be very popular then in school cannot fight like this. The spectacle left me speechless.

I watched the scene carefully and saw Adrian get punched on his face, it seems like a heavy punch to me but I don’t think it feels so to him, he remained on his feet even when I thought he would fall to the ground.

Adrian scoffed in a moment like this, how amusing!

My heart is still beating so fast like it would jump out of my chest in less than a minute.

God!

I looked down at my hands and can see them shaking seriously.

Finally, after a few long minutes that seemed like forever to me, Adrian stood up, dusting off his coat. He looked shaken but unscathed. "Are you okay?" he asked, turning to me.

My lips parted slowly; he was bleeding from the side of his lips.

I nodded, still in shock at what had just happened. I had never been in a situation like that before and had never seen anyone fight like that before. "Thank you," I whispered, looking at him with a newfound respect.

Adrian smiled at me as he took slow steps to me, a glimmer of something else in his dark eyes. "I had to help you," he said, gently touching my arm. "I couldn't leave you in danger like that."

I felt a flutter in her chest at his touch. I know that he is dangerous and has a dark side, but I also know that he had just risked his life to save mine.

I wonder what it would be like to get to know him better. Yes, I would love to.

I look behind him and saw the men on the ground groaning in pain, Adrian looked slightly behind and said, “Are you going to remain there or I come get you again?” he questions and they scurried away.

I blinked rapidly and turned to him, “Uh, thank you, again.”

“They mentioned Madison.” I said lowly to him and he rubbed his hands on my shoulder.

“Don’t worry about her, she is in safe hands. You just go home” he replied and I nod my head.

“I am driving you home.”

That’s what I need, I don’t think I can walk home alone anymore.

I tagged behind Adrian to his car and stepped in before he could open the doors for me to get in, “I know you are a gentleman already.’ I giggled and he shrug as he walked into the driver seat.

“Yeah, I could be, at time.” He replied with a side smirk.

As he drove me home, I couldn't help but wonder what my future held. Yes, I know that I have to be careful, but I also know that Adrian was going to be a big part of it.

Few minutes after the long drive, the car pulled to a halt before my house and I step out of the car with my head low.

“Thanks for the ride, I-I-I’d go to bed now.” I stutter as I walk away into my house through the gate.

Why do I feel nervous all of a sudden, I didn’t wait for what Adrian would have to say before I stepped into my house and ran to the couch falling on it like a lifeless being.

My heart has never stopped racing, I need pills to calm my nerves. I got up from the couch and ran to the kitchen to get a cup of water so I could take some pills.

I step out and sat in my small living room, wondering if Adrian would come.

I left him outside, He had fought for me, risking his own life to save me from Greg's men.

I took a sip of my water and couldn't stop thinking about him and the way he had looked at me after the fight. It was as if he was seeing me for the very first time.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. My heart raced as I got up to answer it. When I opened the door, I saw Adrian standing there, looking at me with a mix of desire and tenderness.

"May I come in?" he asked, his voice low and husky.

I gulp down heavily, “I-I-I've been waiting for you.”

I nodded, stepping aside to let him through. Adrian walked to the center of the room and turned to face me with a side smile on his face, his eyes locking onto mine. "I couldn't stop thinking about you," he said, his voice trembling slightly. "I had to come see you."

I felt a surge of emotion in my chest as I looked at him. I've always known that there was something between us, something that went beyond our shared connection to the Mafia. I had always sensed his tenderness beneath his rough exterior.

My cup was still shaking in my hands and Adrian noticed it, I walk to the table and kept it down before turning to him.

As I looked at Adrian, I know that I wanted him - more than anything I had ever wanted before. It was as if a switch had been flipped, and I was suddenly overcome with desire.

Without a word, I crossed the room and took Adrian's face in my hands. I pressed my lips to his, feeling the heat of his mouth against mine. The kiss is electrifying, the kind of kiss that left me breathless and dizzy.
