Chapter 63: Chapter 63
- Maive's POV -
After I finished taking a half bath, I changed into my pajamas and went to my bed.
Looking at the ceiling I couldn't help but think about what happened earlier in the afternoon. I held my lips reminiscing the kiss that Daxton and zi shared, he is a real good kisser. I wonder if he had kissed his fiancee like that too, suddenly, thinking about it an unexplainable anger filled my heart.
I shook my head, what am I thinking? I should avoid thinking about them, it feels like a part of me is willing to be his mistress just to have him. Damn, this is getting worse.
I sighed and decided to go to sleep because tomorrow night is the Gala Night. That is why I have to sleep a lot for a lot of energy tomorrow.
Will Daxton show up tonight? Agh! I should stop thinking of him. He must be busy with his fiancee to waste his time coming here.
I should really have to sleep now.
The next morning, I woke up feeling a bit disappointed but a bit relieved as well. Daxton didn't show up, however, it's a good thing though or I won't let him go again once I see him.
Suddenly, my attention was caught when I heard my phone ringing. I took my phone above the table and looked at the caller ID to see that it was Tobias.
'Don't... you dare talk to other guys, Maiveline.'
All of a sudden, Daxton's words popped in my head but I shook it off. Why would he prohibit me in doing such things when in fact, he has a fiancee? Tch.
And so I decided to answer the call.
"Maive, how are you?" Tobias asked.
"I'm doing good, why do you ask?"
"Nothing, by the way, what is the color of your dress for tonight's Gala?" He asked, which made me confused.
I find it very rare for him to ask such a thing. He never cared about clothes or anything that I wear. He was just simply happy with me by his side.
I raised my brows at him even though he didn't see me, "That's new, Tobias." I said, speaking what's in my mind. "But it's red," I added.
"Why did you ask?"
"Nothing. Oh by the way, good morning you should get up from bed now and prepare for tonight. I'll fetch you up at 7 in the evening," He stated and ended the call without waiting for my response.
I sighed, thinking. There's something about Tobias and I couldn't help but wonder what it is. I just dismissed the thought of it though and got up from bed.
The day had passed that fast, it was already night time, and I had called my friends, Anne and Gabriella earlier. They said they would come and attend the Gala so I think it would be fun because they were there. They have someone who would fetch them from home to the University so we'll just see each other in the event then.
I changed into my clothes as I looked at the mirror and was surprised to see myself.
I actually did not expect that my grandmother would design a revealing dress like this. It was a bloody red long dress exposing my collarbone and even a glimpse of my sternum. Some parts of my back were also revealed. There is also a slit on my right side, exposing my right legs which is also easy for me to move with this dress.
Oh, I forgot to add that my grandmother has also instructed the hairstylist she hired to arrange my braided hair in one bun with some curly strands on the side of my face. I have actually no problem with the hairstyle, except the fact that it is revealing my neck and the bite mark right here.
The stylist was for sure shocked too with the bite mark on my neck. She was actually more than shocked but my grandmother shook her head for disapproval, probably stopping her to react exaggeratedly and I wonder why. Well, probably because my grandmother knows that it is one of my insecurities. I have told her how I acquired it and she did not bother to ask more things about it.
I don't know if she has any idea of what insect or animal did this but she preferred being silent about my bite mark.
However, these past few days, I actually got to accept it. Probably, when I get a little older, I will have a tattoo there to cover that memory from the most dreadful night of my life.
"You look so gorgeous, Maive." I heard Grandma behind me which made me turn to face her.
Her eyes were puffy red as if she was about to cry. I smiled weakly and walked towards her to give her a hug. "Oh Grandma, thank you so much."
She faced me with a smile, "You're welcome my grandchild, now go. That lovely handsome boy is waiting for you outside."
My forehead turned confused, "Who?" I asked.
"What was his name again, Tobias?" She tried to remember the name, and then she looked at me teasingly, "Are you waiting for someone else?"
I immediately shook my head, "No Grandma. By the way, I am going now or I'll be late for the event."
"Okay, take care." She said and waved her hand with a smile.
I smiled back at her before turning my back and walked out of the mansion.
I only realized the reason why Tobias asked about the color of my dress when he appeared in front of me. He was wearing a tuxedo with long red sleeves inside, matching the color of my dress.
I smiled, it's cute. I found us cute because of it.
When he saw me, I saw his eyes hold, surprised that he didn't move on his spot, staring at me.
"Tobias!" I called, taking his attention.
He blinked his eyes and walked quickly towards me as he offered his hand for me to take.
"You're stunningly beautiful, Maive." He softly said when I put my hand on his.
"Thank you, you look handsome tonight."
Well, he always looks handsome whatever he wears.
I sighed, wondering if Daxton would be happy to see me.
