Chapter 23

“Dr. Roberts came here and told us everything. It's alright. Everything will be fine.” She said between her sobs.

“We won't hit or scold you, honey. It was not your fault.” Dad said to me. He looked somewhat relieved to see me. I was gone for so long. It was almost 6 pm.

We decided to leave early in the morning. I packed all the important stuff. The doctor said he would arrange the cab for us. He decided to come and arrange a place for us. He still had some business remaining in this city. He would deal with all so that he would come live with us. I paced through my room thinking about whether I must tell Mike about it. But I finally decided to drop the idea.

I wrote a letter for Nancy. I asked my neighbor lady to give it to her. I don't want to hurt her. If she knew I was going to leave then she definitely wouldn't let me go.

We started our journey through the quiet road. It was almost 6 am and the morning mist made me hug myself. My mom offered me a sweater. I was freezing. My mother instinct kicked me which made me rub my stomach. I wanted to love my baby. He hadn't done anything wrong. It's not his fault that his father doesn't like me as his mate. It was one of the other tricks under his sleeve. He wanted Amanda this all time. A single drop of tear fell from my eyes.

I looked outside the windows. I smelled the trees. It was slowly warming my heart. I fell asleep midway and woke up from my dad's voice calling me.

I blinked my eyes several times and finally opened them. The view in front of me was amazing. A beautiful village scenery. Calm and quiet. The houses were old-fashioned but still were heartwarming for me. The house we were staying in was 3 times bigger than our old one. Wooden walls with French curtains, vintage furniture, and beautiful greenery transformed the house into heaven.

My room was on the first floor. I never thought I would get a bigger room. I got a great view of the Mayflower river through my balcony. After all these days I could smile warmly without any worries.

My baby bump got bigger and bigger as the months passed by. I got my pregnancy nausea and backaches. Doctor appointment two maids to look after me. Night time had always been beautiful. I looked at the moon opposite me. I felt happy but deep inside I was always sad.

I wasn't able to sleep that night. I kept turning around. The dream I used to have come back. This time I saw his face. His blue eyes sparkled. It had always been him. Mike. He even conquered me in my dreams. He never left me alone.

Then, suddenly I was lost in darkness. Pitch black darkness everywhere I looked. But suddenly a beautiful woman came near me. She was dressed in white. Her hair was white as well.

She hugged me. She comforted me. "Don't be afraid my child. I am the moon goddess. You are never alone. He is your world." she spoke. A knock on the door woke me up. It was my mom who came to wake me up.

I vomited whenever I had a certain type of food. But I craved mangoes and ice creams. Blueberry ice cream was my favorite.

I waited patiently for my baby to be born. I wouldn't care whether it was a boy or a girl. I wanted to give my baby all my love. I smiled thinking about it.

I wondered about my friends, Nancy and Aaron. I wanted to see them so badly. I destroyed my sim card on the way here. I thought of cutting all my toes with everyone.

Then suddenly he came to my mind.

“Mike, I hope you are happy with her.” I wiped my tears. Suddenly my baby kicked me in my stomach.

"You don't need a daddy. Mommy will look after you. " I rubbed my stomach. I felt a little hurt. My heart was in pain.

I spent my days in the garden. There was a beautiful pond in the middle of the garden which gained my attention. I usually spent my days near that pond while watching the swans play in the pond.

My second favorite spot was the huge library opposite my room. It seems like Dr. Robert was a fan of books.

The maids made me all varieties of dishes. I was a fan of spicy food so they made sure I got plenty of them. But the smell of fish always made me the tendency to vomit.

“Honey, it's time to go to bed.” My mom said to me. I was sitting on the balcony looking at the stars.

I nodded and headed to get some sleep.

Around noon I started having intense pain in my stomach. I was worried because the delivery would be in few days. So I have to be careful about it. I grabbed the lamp table and tried to get up. The pain was started to get intense so I called my parents. They rushed towards my room while the maids called the doctor.

They soon took me to the hospital. On my way to the hospital my water broke.

I screamed from intense pain. I never experienced such pain in my life. They took me to the labor room. My mom inside with me. I hold onto her hands. After going through such time I was able to deliver a beautiful baby boy.

I held him in my hands. He was so tiny and cute. He opened his eyes and looked at me. His blue eyes sparkled and he smiled. He got his dad's features. My eyes started to get teary thinking about him. He might even don't know I was pregnant with his son.

My parents cried from tears of joy. Dr. Robert looked pleased with himself. He gave me a warm smile.

“Congratulations Maria” he wished me.

I had to spend one more spend in the hospital bed. The hospital food was really good as the home food. So it wasn't a problem for me to spend my time here.
