Chapter 56: Chapter 56
---
I dialed Dwyne's number right away.
“Have you heard the news, Dwyne?” As he took my call, I asked Dwyne a question.
[Yeah, Andrew informed me.]
“So, how's it going? What are we going to tell them?” I enquired.
[We'll be honest and say that we're now in a relationship.] We'll have an interview tomorrow, but for now, let's rest and sleep.]
“A-all right,” I said. I then hung up the phone.
I walked straight up to my room and took a half bath, as well as removing my make-up.
I then changed into jammies and combed my hair. After that, I retire to my bed for a good night's sleep. There were so many things that happened today. I'm completely spent.
My phone rang again just as I was ready to close my eyes.
I turned to see who was on the other end of the line. It's Agatha!
I picked up the phone right away.
[Hey there, Xy! What is this news about you and Dwyne that I'm hearing?!]
How did she get through to me at this hour? Isn't there no signal flowing from that place?
"How did you manage to phone me when you said you couldn't get a signal there?"
[Clay and I are right here on the mountain, so I took use of the opportunity to check the internet, where I discovered the news! So, what exactly is going on here?! [Are you...in a relationship of some sort?]
"Well, yeah, we're already in a-"
[ I'm correct! It was obvious to me! Dwyne will melt the ice that surrounds your heart, I knew it from the beginning. That Dwyne is the person with whom you'll be spending your time.]
I yanked my phone from my ear. She's so loud!
“Wait a minute, Aga!” “Be honest with me, are you and Ken already together?” I asked.
The other line abruptly went silent. Agatha was deafeningly quiet.
“Cat got your tongue?”
[As it happens, Ken and I are already dating.]
“Hmm, that's fine; I just hope he doesn't decieve or cheat on you as he did my twin. So, when are you going to be back?”
[Soon, Xy. Just hold your breath]
“OK, OK. “All right, I'm going to bed, bye,” I said as I hung up the phone.

Today, Dwyne and I will be interviewed by the media. The reporters were wielding a plethora of microphones. The cameras are also constantly flashing.
One of the reporters questioned, “Are you two dating?”
“Yes,” we said.
“Since when?”
Dwyne said to a reporter, “Actually, just yesterday.”
“If it was just yesterday, why were you seen together three months ago at one of the Harrison family's resorts?”
“At the time, we were simply buddies. By the way, we were a group. We were a group of ten, so you can't really say we go there just the two of us. We were on vacation at their resort” I responded.
They asked a lot of questions, and we did our best to answer them. Until the very last moment.
Dwyne brought me to my home.
It's 2:28 p.m. already.
It's a good thing we ate before going in front of the camera.
“Xy, by the way. Mom and Dad called. They also say they'd like to meet you” Dwyne said.
I became nervous all of a sudden. What if they aren't fond of me?
“W-When?”
“They indicated they'd want to meet you right away because their schedule is free.”
What!? Holy-moly! I'm not prepared for this.
'You can do it, Xy!'
I try to calm myself and I did. I gave the best smile I could to convey that I'm fine with it. “Now? As in, right now?” I asked.
“Come to dine with us later. Don't worry, I'm sure my parents will love you. So, I'll just pick you up at six o'clock this afternoon, okay?” he stated I gave a nod.

I simply wore blue slacks and a v-neck top. I made a ponytail with my hair. If you think I'm like other women who try to impress their boyfriend's parents by dressing up in nice clothes, you're wrong. Simplicity is the essence of beauty.
In front of your boyfriend's parents, it's even better if you just be yourself. It's possible that they'll like you more.
I wouldn't have dressed up and put on make-up on our first date if Xiera hadn't forced me to. She came to see me here yesterday; she isn't working on any cases right now, so she is free to come see me. That's when I told her Dwyne and I were going out on our first date.
I replied I'd just wear a t-shirt and sweatpants because I know Dwyne will accept me for who I am if he truly loves me. Xiera, on the other hand, insists on me wearing a dress and applying make-up.
It's already 5:57 p.m. when I look at the clock.
I went down to my room after hearing a horn, locked the door before exiting, and there I saw Dwyne.
And the moment saw him, I was like 'What the actual, fuck?!'. Because, he was likewise dressed in blue slacks a v-neck top!
Coincidence!
After some time...
“Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Harrison!” when I spotted Dwyne's parents, I said hello.
Dwyne's mother gave me a full-body stare.
She stared at me first, then at Dwyne. She then returned her gaze to me.
'I'm a dead meat! It appears that his mother does not approve of me!'
“Don't be like that, Mom! You're making my girlfriend nervous.”
That was removed from my mind as she smiled and hugged me unexpectedly.
“You and my son are an excellent match! Xyna, welcome to the family.” Her mother stated.
Don't judge a book by its cover, okay?
“Ah, thank you, Mrs. Harrison,” I responded, surprised by her embrace.
She drew back from the hug.
“Xyna, don't be too formal. Simply address me as mother and him as father. It's difficult when our son's girlfriend, who will soon become his wife, addresses us as Mister and Missus Harrison.” She stated her case.
“Ah, all right, m-mom.” When I called her mom, I stammered. This is something I'm not used to. It's quite humiliating for me.
“Let's eat, let's eat! You know I made something special today!” Mrs.-err mum exclaimed gleefully.
She led us to a table in the dining room.
Then I noticed Hilary in the dining room. She's smiling and staring at me.
“Hello, Naddy!”
“Hello, Hilary!” I returned her greeting.
We took a seat in the chair.
“Don't be timid, my daughter-in-law, eat as much food as you like,” she remarked, smiling. When she called me her daughter-in-law, I blushed, but I managed to smile back.
I was taken aback when she giggled like a teenager. “You all see that? Xyna, smiled! She's already stunning, but she's even more stunning when she smiles!” Then I reddened for the second time.
“Hon, you're embarrassing Xyna. Put a stop to it.” Mrs-mom pouted.
'Aww, it's so sweet!'
“I'm just being truthful! Xy is just stunning!” she remarked, her gaze falling on me.
“Thank you, mum,” I said with a sincere smile.
“All right, mom! Let's eat first, because my girlfriend is already hungry,” Dwyne stated.
“You're absolutely correct! I'm sorry for allowing my emotions to take control of me. All well, then, let's eat.”
Then we begin to eat. Mom interrogates us about ourselves, while Dad remains silent. He even appears to be embarrassed by what mom is saying, haha!
