Chapter 92: Chapter 92

Tears started rolling down my cheeks despite me wiping them over and over. I pulled my car door opened and closed it. For one last time, I looked at the building before starting the engine.

When I got home, I didn’t see my daughter everywhere. She was taken to the mall by my mom for a little entertainment. I have this creeping nervousness that someone might tell Daevon about our daughter but I trust my parents. My mom won’t let anyone get passed through and will make me the first to tell my husband.

I threw myself on my bed, the moment I got home. I stared at the ceiling with the same forced smile in my face.

I closed my eyes.

He never said I love you before and that only shows that he has been playing with me ever since I came back. I guess he’ll finally stop doing his supposed revenge right?

I just let my thoughts travelled wherever she wanted until I fell asleep.

The feeling of someone kissing me gently on my face was the only thing that woke me up afain to which a smile crept into my face. I immediately pulled her into a hug.

“Mommy!” she giggled and hugged me back.

I slowly opened my eyes again and saw how serious she looked at my eyes.

“Did you cry, mommy?” she asked with a worried tone.

I only gave her a thin smile and kissed her on the forehead.

“Mommy’s eyes just stings, honey,” I calmly said.

She only nodded and continued to look at me while on the other hand, I caressed her face. “Mommy, grandma said to wake you up.” I heard my baby speaking again. “We’re going to eat now!” she added, giggling innocently at me.

A smile crept into my lips and broke from our hug.

Ever since Daeshaia came in our house, my mom and dad never went back to work. They want their attention to be focused more on their grandchild instead of those countless paper works they always had to handle.

My daughter and I fixed ourselves on the mirror before going downstairs. When we were now at the living room, I could tell that my mom has been waiting for us; especially by the way she smiled.

Daeshaia went running towards her grandmother and reached out her hand to be carried. She then gestured towards one of the seats in the dining area and everyone including me sat on the table.

We were eating happily when my mom looked at me for a second.

Azaia is right. Whatever happens, they will stay by my side.

I grabbed a spoonful of food from across my plate and let it enter my mouth. My mom then started talking to me with countless random topics until I heard a small gasp.

I turned to look at my daughter and how her eyes glimmered in excitement and longing.

“D-Daddy!” she exclaimed to which I glanced where she was looking at.

As my eyes landed towards him, my lips parted; I didn’t expect him to come here! A creeping feeling of nervousness slowly engulfed my chest as my utensils clattered onto the table.

Daevon was standing there from across the room with a white bouquet of flowers in his hand; his forehead was creasing, looking at the seemingly small child who was so happy to see him.

The room was filled with silence. II know even my mom was surprised by his sudden appearance that she didn’t know what to do.

While we were still baffled in our places, I noticed the chair making a sound. My child immediately got off from the chair as her eyes never left her dad. “Daddy!” she exclaimed as she closed the distance between the two of them with an excited look on her face.

Daevon then looked at his own child with such an odd look on his face. I could see his hands trembling when he saw the little being reaching out her hands towards him. His hands gripped onto the flowers loosely and carried our daughter in his hands.

In an instant, his cold eyes became warm as he felt his daughter hugging him on his neck while she started crying.

“Y-You’re not busy anymore!” my baby exclaimed. “Y…You came, finally. My daddy came!” she mumbled against her sob.

Daevon then carefully put his hand at the back of his daughter and caressed it gently before embracing her.

“I’m here, honey,” he said as he tried to calm down his child. “I’m sorry. I’m really sorry for making you wait for me,” he weakly said and kissed Daeshaia on her head.

I bit my lower lip from the scene I’m looking at. Tears started forming onto my eyes again when I saw how happy my baby is.

“I love you, daddy! I love you!” my daughter said, tears started dripping from her cheeks as well. She had always been longing for a father figure and now, she was able to see him in person.

Daevon carefully broke from their hug for a moment and wiped off the tears in her eyes before giving her a kiss on the forehead.

“I love you too,” he said, full of emotions. “I love you so much,” he whispered and embraced her again.

After a while, his red eyes from crying now darted towards me. His jaw was tightening as a grim expression loomed his face. I averted my gaze, gulping.

“Don’t worry, honey. You can always seem me now,” he reassured our daughter. “I’ll stay with you and mommy from now on,” he said that made my world stop for a moment.

No.

He'll ruin me for the third time.
