Chapter 2: Chapter 2
A few days ago…
At a small flower shop located in the middle of a busy road, Caroline, a girl was crouching down to check the newly imported flower pots. Miranda, the little proprietor of this flower business, is that person.
Miranda was about the age of twenty. She has a tiny frame, dark complexion, and huge wide eyes that are quite appealing. Miranda has always enjoyed caring for and arranging flowers since she was a youngster. So, after graduating from high school, Miranda enrolled in a class on bonsai care and how to arrange fresh flowers. She later started a modest business on Caroline Street. Miranda's life is constantly full with laughter and excitement since she is able to accomplish a profession she enjoys. She is always pleased of the praises and joy she receives from people who order flowers or buy beautiful plants from her business. These great things have enabled Miranda to enjoy and stick with her profession even more, despite the fact that she needs to stay up late many nights to inspect the items or study new ways to enhance the customer's choice.
Miranda had a lovely day that morning as well. She awoke with a lot of vigor. Miranda excitedly took her motorcycle to the store after breakfast and played the song "Me!" from Taylor Swift's Lover album. The lovely sounds sounded as if they were reawakening her enthusiasm. Miranda worked while dancing to her favorite singer's great melodies.
"Good morning, can you assist me?" a pleasant feminine voice shouted out from behind her.
Miranda immediately stopped working and turned to face the source of the noise. A stunning young lady stood at the doorway, beaming in her direction. Miranda enthusiastically strolled over.
"Of course," she answered with a warm grin to the girl. “Come here, please. Can you tell me what you need my assistance with?"
The girl entered the store with care. Miranda was only able to get a better look at the female after that. She has long, gleaming blonde hair, keen eyes, heart-shaped lips, and a gorgeous figure. Her walk was as elegant as that of a cat. She appears to be really lovely!
"What can I do to help you?"
Miranda respectfully inquired of the girl once again. But she did not respond right away. She took her time walking around the shop, admiring the lovely flowers that were blooming in the early morning light. Then she turned to Miranda and sweetly said,
"Are there lilies here?"
"Yes!"
Miranda said as she proceeded to the left side of the store, behind a shelf with rose baskets, and took out an album. Then she returned it to the girl, saying,
"We sell these flowers. You can look over them before making your decision."
The girl reached out to take the album from Miranda's grasp and began to open it carefully. She flipped over the pages, paying close attention to what she saw. She handed the album to Miranda after a long time and stated,
"I need this flower."
Miranda turned her gaze to the girl's finger and screamed,
"That's Double Lily, by the way. Today's colors are yellow and pink. Which one do you prefer?"
"Please give me a bouquet of brilliant pink flowers."
"Would you like to mix it with any other flowers? Perhaps a rose, hydrangea, or sunflower?" Miranda gladly added a few more recommendations.
"It's just the lily."
"OK. Is there anything unique you want to mention about this bouquet?"
Miranda questioned the visitor as she dug into her pocket for a notebook and a pen. Those objects were constantly on her person, as they usually were. As a result, she is always prepared to remember and fulfill any particular requirements of consumers.
"I just want them to seem new and lively. My fiancé's birthday is today. Despite the fact that everyone is planning a large party for him, I still want to surprise him. A floral arrangement with a unique present."
"With lily?" Miranda inquired, astonished.
"Why not?"
Miranda was met with a disgruntled frown from the girl. Noticing the girl's dissatisfaction, Miranda quickly smiled sincerely:
"Please excuse my unpleasant comments just now. Actually, I find it weird because couples commonly present red flowers to each other, don't they?"
When she heard Miranda say that, the girl nodded, as if she agreed with her.
"Yes. People usually exchange red flowers as a gesture of affection. But lilies are also lovely. My fiancee adored it. According to him, its name in the East is based on an abbreviation of the phrase "perennial harmony," which implies "hundred years of enjoyment. I believe it would be wonderful if I offered him lities today."
Miranda was captivated as she listened to the girl's explanation.
"You have a point," she said cheerfully. Then I'll create a lovely flower arrangement for you."
"It's wonderful to hear you say that." The girl grinned cheerfully. "I have faith in you. Please deliver it to this address."
The girl placed a piece of paper into Miranda's hand, on which was written an inscription. That may have been the girl's home address.
"Okay, I'll see you shortly. I look forward to your results."
"You can be confident. Have a wonderful day. Goodbye!"
Miranda smiled as she greeted her visitor. Miranda's day became more interesting as she watched the girl leave the store. Perhaps as a result of the other girl's story.
Miranda got right to work once the odd girl left the store. She chooses the flowers that are the freshest, biggest, and most colorful, then prunes them and begins to create the bouquet. The bouquet was finished after more than an hour. Miranda took another look at the lovely arrangement, smiled contentedly, and picked up the phone to contact Jane.
"Good day, Jane."
"Good morning, Miranda," murmured a groggy female voice on the other end of the telephone. "What prompted you to phone me at this hour?"
Miranda deduced from Jane's lethargic voice that she was still sleeping. As a result, she softened her tone:
"Sorry for troubling you at this hour, Jane. Are you able to come to the store right now?"
"What's the matter, Miranda? Today is not a working day for me."
"I have to go make a delivery right now. This was a rare request, but Jack was unable to fulfill it. I can't rely on anyone other than you." Miranda responded with sincerity.
When she saw Miranda say that, Jane grudgingly consented, saying,
"OK, Miranda. Wait a few moments. At the very least, I need to clean my hair, brush my teeth, shower, and change my clothes."
"As long as you come here, everything will be OK."
“But you have to prepare breakfast for me. I can't let my stomach go hungry nyah." - Jane makes conditions with Miranda.
"Sure. Black bread with egg butter.”
"It is OK."
“Thank you, Jane. You are so nice."
Miranda was overjoyed when she received Jane's approval. She sang as she walked into the little kitchen behind the store to make breakfast for Jane.
Jane appeared a few moments later. As soon as she went in, there was a lovely platter of rye bread with egg butter on the table.
"Miranda, these look wonderful!"
Jane pouted in adoration, then buttered a slice of bread and placed it in her lips. While eating her breakfast, she swiftly asked Miranda.
"Is that a special order?"
"Extremely unique!"
Miranda instantly nodded and placed the flower in the car before walking over to the closest to the right of the entrance and pulled out a helmet.
"A bouquet of flowers provided by a girl for her fiance's birthday," she added, fastening her cap.
"A girl sends flowers to her fiancé?" Jane was taken aback.
"Right."
"How lovely and intriguing."
"Do you feel the same way I do? This morning, knowing their love made me glad. And I had to bring her this bouquet right now."
"All right, Miranda. Let's go. I'm confident she'll like this bouquet."
Miranda was hailed enthusiastically by Jane. Miranda was even pleased by her remarks. She eagerly departs towards Andrea's home.
Andrea's residence is situated in the heart of the city, making it easy for Miranda to find. Outside the gate, there are two rows of lush trees with neoclassical architecture. Miranda stepped cautiously over to the doorbell and gently rang it. Andrea emerged a moment later, a bright smile on her lips. Her skin tone was highlighted by the blue dress with a daring slit.
Andrea is overjoyed when she receives the bouquet from Miranda. She even stated that they look fantastic and that her fiance will adore them. Miranda vividly recalls Andrea's expression at the time. It gleamed brightly and beautifully, like the sun that had just risen in the East.
Miranda had no idea the bouquet would land her in such a predicament. What's the deal with the cyanide in that bouquet? What is Brian's name? Miranda was perplexed and concerned. What does she need to do to establish her innocence?
