Chapter 4: Chapter 4
John's POV
Celina and Jefferson's wedding was announced, and everyone in the company knew about it as they were all invited. They wanted to know who Mrs. Scott was and how she was.
They thought she had been chosen by me. They expected her to come from a prominent family. I offered marriage to Noris at first, and I was shocked that he had refused my offer. He said he had someone he liked already and he chose her. Though I didn't offer him the entire company, unlike Jefferson, a share from me was not something anyone could ever ignore.
I knew Jefferson would never agree to this idea, so I used the company to threaten him. He really worked hard; the company was big already. But under Jefferson's management, it became bigger.
Ever since he was a child, his mother told him that he owned the company and that it was his. He had been told not to let Noris's hands touch it, so he really guarded the company well.
But, as far as I looked at Noris, I couldn't seem to see him eyeing the company. He never mentioned to me anything about having a position there. What I had offered him to marry Celina was already rightfully his, but as I've said, he refused it.
Jefferson may be wondering why I was so adamant about marrying Celina to either of them. It was because her father helped me. Without my son's knowledge, I underwent an operation. Celina's father, who was on the brink of death, was an organ donor whose heart was somehow compatible with mine. Yes, when he was still alive, he enlisted himself to be an organ donor just in case he died. The same goes for her mother.
I tried to find her after I recovered from my surgery, but I failed. Until recently, when I found out how Nicholson had treated her and how much she wanted to leave them. I used the marriage and paid Nicholson a large sum of money so they would agree.
I did some investigation into Celina, and I found out that she was a very smart girl, so I didn't think twice and continued my plan, thinking Jefferson or Noris would be lucky to have her. Without Nicholson's knowledge, Celina graduated with honors. Those two didn't bother checking her out when Celina showed them her fake grades and credentials. She was wise enough to hide her true self from the couple, and I knew that she was planning to leave them sooner or later.
I had a feeling that Celina agreed to this marriage so she could get out of the couple's house. She thought marrying Jefferson would be the best thing for her, so she wouldn't need to hide from them in the future anymore.
As for Jefferson, I knew how his girlfriend treated him. Even if she was seeing someone else, I was aware of her plan to obtain my son. That's my i**** son. He had been cuckolded for a long time, but he didn't know. And he said he loved her? I wouldn't force him if I knew Wendy loved him. I could help Celina in different ways as well. But this idea is the best. Either Jefferson or Noris could marry her, and any of them would be lucky.
The conversation I had with Celina was promising. Now I know that Jefferson would never hurt her because she would never let him. She was smart and tough as well.
I started suspecting Wendy when Jefferson told me that Wendy was a very understanding woman and that they didn't fight. Is he kidding me? I love his mom so much. That's why I didn't get married to Noris's mother, even if I had him first. Despite my love for her, we still fight over a very small problem. Women, I believe, wanted to be pursued even if they were already with their husband. It was in their nature. That's why my wife and I had a little fight so I could woo her and she would forgive me. That is what made me love her more.
Now, Jefferson here is trying to tell me they were a perfect couple. That's totally unbelievable. So I had Wendy investigate and follow up. Even though I had already received solid proof of her cheating, I didn't stop. The investigators followed her for 6 months. They even said that I was already wasting money on the continuous investigation when I already had their reports, but I insisted. She won't have any escape if she makes a scene and will only humiliate herself.
Celina didn't want a grand wedding, but I insisted. I told the Nicholson's couple not to attend anymore, as I knew it wouldn't do any good. They can try, but if they were smart enough, they would know not to defy me.
I told Jefferson to stay with Celina as they prepared for their wedding. He had no choice but to follow. They managed to choose a very beautiful wedding gown for Celina.
The wedding was held at the Clandestine Hotel and Restaurant that my friend owns. Celina was very beautiful. If I was her father, I would be very proud of her.
We invited only the company employees and all directors, as well as some of my trusted friends. Noris was there as well, and I felt like he was hurting. When I told him that his younger brother, Jefferson, was getting married, he didn't say anything besides that he was going to attend the wedding if he was invited.
I remember our conversation back then:
"Noris, your younger brother is going to get married in the next couple of weeks." I told him. He smiled and said,
"OK, dad. I will attend the wedding, that is if he wants or if I'm invited. " He answered.
Of course you are invited; you're his brother. "His wedding is a very special occasion for our family, so you should be there as well."
"OK dad, I will attend then. Tell Jefferson not to worry because I am not going to cause a scene there." Noris replied.
"Thank you, son. Don't worry about him either. " I told him.
We had a very good and pleasant conversation. I wonder why he looked gloomy today.
The wedding had started, and I was the one who sent her to the altar to meet my son Jefferson.
When I handed Celina to Jefferson, I noticed his jaw hardened. I know he finds Celina beautiful as well. Who wouldn't like Celina? She was smart and beautiful. She may be feisty, but she also has a heart of gold.
When it was time for them to say each other's vow, I was anticipating a very simple one from Jefferson. But to my surprise, it was very beautiful and sincere, and the same goes for Celina.
"Celina, I am not a perfect man. I have flaws that you may have to deal with in the future. I cannot promise you heaven because I am not God. I cannot promise you paradise because I already feel like I am there with you. I cannot promise you happiness because I was happy when I was with you. I cannot promise you the world because you are the world to me.
Jefferson, I am a very difficult person. So I know I can deal with you in the future. I don't need to be in heaven if you weren't there. I don't want to be in paradise if you weren't Adam. I don't want to be happy if it means your tears, and I don't need the world when you're not there.
Everyone was touched as well. I'm sure that they thought they loved each other too. I roamed my eyes around and found everyone was happy like me.
I didn't think Jefferson would kiss Celina as the priest announced for the groom to kiss the bride, but he did.
And I thought that their marriage would be fruitful in the future, not now but in the future.
