Chapter 51: Chapter 51

As Flora wondered, Nancy had already come up to her, laughing coldly, "Miss Chiyoko is the future mistress, you better serve her well."

After speaking, she walked past Flora. In Nancy's subconscious, she never regarded Chiyoko as the future mistress. She always looked down on promiscuous women like her. And since Maxwell locked her up on the third floor, he no longer cared, giving Nancy the perfect opportunity to bully her.

Flora was even more frightened by her cold words, rubbing her arms and walking into the house.

In the afternoon, while Flora was tidying up Oliver's room, she sat on the wool carpet to rest. Inadvertently, her hand touched the broken half of a necklace as she reached into her pocket for a tissue. She took it out and examined it carefully in her palm.

This half of a necklace was worthless to her, but Maxwell had always wanted it. Flora didn't give him this half of the necklace for two reasons. On one hand, she was afraid he would think she was deceiving him, which would anger him. On the other hand, she was unwilling, thinking about how he had caused her such misery. She didn't want to give him anything.

"You're asking for death! You damn bastard!" Flora muttered under her breath, feeling a sense of satisfaction from her revenge.

In her moment of triumph, the door was suddenly pushed open from outside, and Flora instinctively jumped up from the floor, startled, and stared at the doorway in disbelief. Upon recognizing the person, she quickly hid the necklace behind her back.

"How...how did you come to Young Master Oliver's room?" Flora stared at Maxwell, cautiously asking. She wasn't foolish enough to mistake him for Oliver because Oliver was currently in England!

"What are you hiding behind your back?" Maxwell took a few steps closer to her, casting a shadow over her in the setting sun, intensifying the pressure on her and making her heart race in panic.

"Nothing...nothing," Flora shook her head, taking a step back, tightly clutching the necklace in her palm. She stared at him with utmost vigilance, as if afraid he might suddenly attack her.

Although Maxwell asked, he had no interest in what she was hiding behind her back. He said to her, "Help me find Young Master Oliver's office key and bring it to my room immediately!"

"Yes," Flora let out a sigh of relief and hurriedly tucked the necklace into her pocket, starting to search through the cabinet.

Maxwell stood in place for three seconds before turning and walking away.

Flora was curious. Why would Maxwell need Oliver's office key? Could he be involved in something secretive that he didn't want others to know? Hmm, it was quite likely for someone like him.

After finding the key, Flora headed towards Maxwell's room. When Robin, who was writing in Maxwell's room, saw her entering, he slid down from his chair as if he had seen a savior.

Politely, Robin said, "Big Brother, you guys carry on. I'll go back to my room to continue writing." After speaking, he quickly ran off, making a funny face at Flora as he passed by, causing her to secretly chuckle.

Once Robin left, Flora approached Maxwell and handed him the key, saying, "Big Young Master, here is the key."

"Put it on the table," Maxwell said indifferently while flipping through the things in his hands.

Flora placed the key on the desktop and discreetly glanced at Maxwell, hesitating for a while without leaving.

Sensing her lingering presence, Maxwell looked up slightly, glancing at her, and said, "If you have something to say, say it quickly. I can't stand people beating around the bush."

Taking a step towards the door, Flora gathered her courage and said, "You told me to speak my mind, so don't blame me...." After swallowing some saliva, she cautiously continued, "Miss Chiyoko on the third floor asked me to deliver a message to you...she wants to see you...during the day, it's important..." As she reached the end of her sentence, her teeth started to chatter.

Staring at Maxwell Smith with a gradually turning angry face, Flora White retreated step by step towards the door, stammering, "Um... I'm just a messenger, I... oh... please don't come closer!"

Seeing Maxwell's body sway towards her, Flora quickly dodged to the side and stood behind the sofa, looking at him in fear. She was only here to fulfill her promise to Miss Chiyoko, she didn't genuinely want to mention the name 'Chiyoko'!

Maxwell saw her evading him and tried to grab her by circling from the left, but Flora quickly avoided him from the right. They started spinning around the sofa.

Maxwell stared angrily at her and said, "You saw her again?!"

Flora dodged him and exclaimed, "It's not my own choice! Mrs. Smith asked me to serve Miss Chiyoko, so I had no choice but to go! You can't blame me!"

Mrs. Smith? It's Mrs. Smith again. Maxwell frowned momentarily but quickly regained his composure. He stopped all movements and stared at her with a wicked smile, saying, "Why don't you just move up there and live with her? Haven't you always been fascinated by the third floor?"

"No! No, thank you!" Flora shook her head in haste. "I have no interest in it at all. I have lost interest a long time ago! If you don't want me to go up there, you can talk to Mrs. Smith and ask her to withdraw the order. I'll be forever grateful to you! Please!"

She didn't want to go to that eerie place and see that eerie woman.

Seeing her terrified expression, a mischievous delight surged within Maxwell, and he evilly laughed, "Since you are so interested in that woman, then serve her well. Leave!"

"You..." Flora stared at him in astonishment. How did he change so quickly? Just a moment ago, he was furious, and now he looked like he was just waiting for a show.

"Well, will you... go up to see her?" Flora asked reluctantly, she had to deliver the message to Miss Chiyoko!
