Chapter 41: Chapter 41
Mrs. White was shocked when she saw her come in. She rushed over and grabbed Flora's collar, pushing and shouting at her, "Why did you come back? Where is Henry? Where is he?!"
Flora didn't know if it was because Mrs. White hurt her or she was saddened, but with tears in her eyes, she shook her head, "I don't know, I really don't know!"
"How can you not know? Henry has been looking for you everywhere and hasn't come home for a long time! You made him search everywhere for you, and you come back by yourself?" Mrs. White yelled, then pushed her towards the door, "Get out! Go find Henry for me! Otherwise, don't ever step into this house again!"
"Mom... Mom," Flora quickly grabbed the doorknob and pleaded with Mrs. White, "Mom, let me go back to my room first. I'll go find Brother Henry immediately, okay?"
"No! You go right now!" Mrs. White stubbornly yelled.
Flora couldn't care about that anymore. She had to find the necklace. So, when Mrs. White wasn't paying attention, she slipped quickly into the house and rushed upstairs to her bedroom.
Behind her was the furious voice of Mrs. White shouting, "You little brat! Stop right there!"
Flora didn't stop her steps and slammed the bedroom door shut with a loud bang. Leaning against the door, she listened to the banging on the door and Mrs. White's angry shouts.
Flora closed her eyes as if she didn't hear anything, and looked around the large bedroom that she hadn't lived in for a long time, yet still felt familiar. This was her boudoir, the bedroom she had lived in for over ten years. Every corner was filled with memories of happiness and sadness. When she was happy, she would play video games and chess with Henry. When she was unhappy, it was usually Mrs. White chasing her around the house, hitting her, and insulting her as a little bitch!
There wasn't much time for her to waste. Flora quickly began searching through every corner where the necklace might have been thrown. She searched through jewelry boxes, and makeup bags, but couldn't find a trace of the platinum necklace. She started to panic, beads of sweat forming on her forehead. Had she looked in all the most likely places? Could it be somewhere else?
After turning the bedroom upside down and still not finding it, Flora took a deep breath and sat on the bed, starting to recall every little detail of that period. She had taken off the necklace at home.
With no other options, Flora reluctantly opened the bedroom door and looked at Mrs. White, who had been continuously berating her, "Mom, have you seen the platinum necklace I put in the room?"
Mrs. White paused for a moment and then cursed loudly, "How would I know where your necklace is?" After relentlessly pestering Flora, Mrs. White turned around and walked away.
Flora sensed something was off and suddenly rushed forward, blocking Mrs. White's path, saying, "Mom, please return the necklace to me. I need it urgently!"
"You..."
Mrs. White tried to make excuses, but Flora noticed something sharp on her neck - it was undoubtedly the platinum necklace she had been desperately searching for!
Overjoyed, Flora couldn't wait any longer and reached out to grab the necklace from Mrs. White's neck. Because she was certain that Mrs. White would dodge and knowing her dominant personality wouldn't easily give it back, she chose to take the initiative!
Mrs. White was shocked and screamed as she dodged. It wasn't because she loved this necklace, but because of her stubborn and dominant personality, she felt that she shouldn't have to admit defeat in front of Flora so easily. However, this time she couldn't dodge Flora's attack.
With a quick move of Flora's small hand, the necklace was in her palm. Successfully taking the necklace, she turned around and rushed towards the main door, shouting, "Mom, the necklace was originally mine. I'm just taking back what's rightfully mine!"
"You stop right there!" Mrs. White yelled in anger, moving her slightly short and chubby body to chase after Flora. "Flora! Take one more step and see what happens! Someone, catch this wretched girl for me!"
Several security personnel from the White Family came out and Flora was shocked. She screamed at the entrance, "Help! Help!"
Upon hearing Flora's call for help, four men waiting in the car pushed the door open and quickly rushed into the White Family estate. With ease, they took down the security personnel. Flora stood frozen in place, staring at their impressive skills. They were indeed well-trained assassins!
The four men didn't intend to linger. They grabbed the dazed Flora and headed towards the car, stuffing her inside. Then, they coolly started the car and drove away, leaving Mrs. White in disbelief!
"Guys, you're all so skilled," Flora complimented with a smile, trying to establish a good relationship so that this day wouldn't be so meaningless!
The four handsome men didn't respond, or rather, they did no react at all.
Flora leaned back on the chair in boredom and stayed quiet for five seconds before speaking again, "Guys, Big Young Master said he would give me a day. So, could you take me to the city area? I want to go shopping."
The men hesitated for a moment, unable to refuse because Maxwell did promise her a day. They drove towards the busiest area in town, W City.
Flora took out the temporary phone given to her by Maxwell and dialed Lily's number, arranging to meet her at a café. She wanted to find out about the origins of the necklace. Ever since Oliver and Maxwell fought over it, she had become very curious about its secrets!
With that in mind, Flora reached into her pocket and took out the necklace she had just risked her life to snatch back. Holding the necklace vertically, she suddenly widened her eyes, dumbfounded!
Why didn't she realize earlier that she only managed to reclaim half of the necklace??
