Chapter 173: Chapter 173

Betty dragged Flora downstairs, looking disappointed.

In the first-floor living room, Chiyoko was leisurely flipping through a newspaper, a few strands of hair hanging gracefully to cover her forehead wound. When she saw Flora, she greeted politely, "Flora, good morning."

Chiyoko was well aware of how many pairs of eyes within the Smith Family mansion were watching her. Therefore, she would never engage in any improper behavior so blatantly. She always put on a gentle and kind facade, deceiving everyone from beginning to end.

Flora glanced at her, feeling repulsed by her acting, and didn't bother to say a word. She walked past her, and behind her, Chiyoko still wore a sweet smile, though with a hint of coldness.

Flora didn't see it, but she could feel it. She walked quickly because she was in a hurry, not paying attention to the road ahead, and bumped into something. No, not something—how could an object have warmth?

Raising her head, Flora saw Oliver, soaked and looking at her. He had just come out of the swimming pool and collided with her. Apologizing instinctively, she said, "I'm sorry, truly sorry."

The image of Oliver's furious and icy demeanor from the previous day was still vivid in Flora's mind. She was cautious not to offend him, remembering the fright she experienced yesterday.

"Good morning, Flora," Oliver said nonchalantly, not seeming to care about the fact that she had just run into him. His face exuded the usual gentle smile as if nothing had happened the night before.

Flora was momentarily stunned. Did he forget the scene of his outburst last night? How could everything seem like nothing had happened overnight? Indeed... quite fickle!

Nevertheless, Flora felt that she should apologize to him. She was genuinely sorry for her rudeness yesterday; after all, peeping was very impolite, and it was understandable that he got angry.

But before she could express her apology, Oliver spoke first, "Flora, I'm sorry if I scared you last night." A visible expression of remorse appeared on his face.

Surprised, Flora wondered why he was apologizing. Wasn't she the one who should apologize? Oliver's apology made her feel uneasy. Awkwardly, she chuckled and said, "It's okay... I was the one at fault."

"All right, let's not mention last night. Let it go," Oliver said with a smile.

As soon as Oliver finished speaking, Nancy, who had approached unnoticed, cautiously spoke up, "Second Young Master, are you planning to go out? I'd like to hitch a ride with you to W City to deliver a nutritious meal to Young Master Joshua."

Despite having several drivers available, Nancy dared to make such a request to Oliver, indicating her admiration not only for Big Young Master but also for Second Young Master! Well, who could blame her when the two brothers were so outstanding and charming?

Oliver looked at her in confusion and asked, "Didn't Mrs. Smith already go to the hospital? Why would she ask you to go?"

Shaking her head, Nancy, nervously, explained, "I don't know. Originally, Mrs. Smith was planning to go herself, but after receiving a call, she hurriedly left and instructed me to deliver the meal to Young Master Joshua."

Oliver's expression turned serious, "What did you say?" he asked, instinctively concerned about Mrs. Smith's abrupt departure.

Seeing his tense reaction, Nancy thought she might have said something wrong. Startled, she opened her mouth but couldn't come up with an answer.

After contemplating for a moment, Oliver muttered something under his breath and rushed toward the main house with long strides.

"What happened?" Flora asked Oliver's retreating figure.

Without time to respond, Oliver's silhouette vanished into the main house. In a short while, he reappeared on the first floor, dressed in different attire, and opened the door to his distinctive Ferrari. He swiftly got in, and the car roared out of the Smith Family mansion like a gust of wind!

The astonishing speed left Flora and Nancy stunned, unable to react for a while. What could have made him so urgent? Flora wondered anxiously, gazing in the direction where the car disappeared.

Inside the international airport, Mrs. Davis stood joyfully in the waiting hall, feeling relieved that she could finally leave W City and escape the nerve-wracking days.

To avoid any unforeseen complications, she had urged Kevin to arrive at the airport two hours early, indicating her eagerness to depart. Back to Germany, back to her old life – even if there were grudges, she would deal with them on her own!

"Mom, why don't you sit on the chair for a moment?" Kevin, noticing her uneasy demeanor, smiled reassuringly.

"Uh, no need." Mrs. Davis chuckled, tiptoeing to peer towards the security checkpoint, unable to resist asking again, "Why haven't we reached security yet? Do they have to wait until the last minute to check?"

For some reason, she had a constant uneasy feeling, as if something unusual was about to happen. Even she couldn't understand why she felt this way—perhaps she was just too anxious? Shaking her head, she forced herself to calm down.

"Mom, we still have ten minutes before it's our turn; don't worry," Kevin comforted with a smile. Unable to resist turning back, he gazed at the beautiful weather near the airport entrance. Who knew that he didn't want to leave at all? It felt like his heart was left somewhere, somewhat reluctant, but he couldn't understand why he felt that way. Wherever he went, there were women around him. He could have as many women as he wanted.

"Oh, so slow!" Mrs. Davis sighed softly, her urgent heart not allowing her to sense Kevin's feelings. All she knew was that she had to take him away, take him back to Germany, just like 25 years ago. And never to return!

Finally, the announcement for their flight's boarding came over the loudspeaker, and Mrs. Davis eagerly walked toward it. After just a few steps, she heard a calm but shocking voice behind her say, "Stop!"

Startled, Mrs. Davis turned around abruptly. Staring at the figure that had suddenly appeared before her, her face turned instantly pale. She finally believed that a woman's intuition was the most sensitive; her unease stemmed from this!

Standing a few meters away, Mrs. Smith stared at Kevin, who had also turned around, in astonishment. Astonishment was her only emotion at this moment. Looking at Kevin's face, identical to Maxwell's, she felt her legs go weak and almost collapsed.

But she managed to stand firm, gripping her handbag tightly, trembling hands and a shaking body. With difficulty, she stepped forward, standing in front of Kevin. Her eyes opened widely and almost popped out. What on earth was happening? Could someone tell her?!

"Mrs. Smith, hello," of the three people, only Kevin remained composed, even managing to smile charmingly. It was as if nothing had happened, looking at Mrs. Smith's stunned face with a smiling gaze.

Mrs. Smith turned away, staring at Mrs. Davis, "Mrs. Davis, what's going on?" Even though she had come prepared after listening to Robin and Chiyoko's words, she was still shocked when she saw Kevin. Why did he look exactly like Maxwell and Oliver? Why?

Mrs. Davis forced a smile as she approached, patting Mrs. Smith's hand. "Mrs. Smith, we're about to board. I'll call you as soon as I get back to Germany. We can talk on the phone, okay?"

"No—!" Mrs. Smith screamed uncontrollably, shouting, "You can't leave! Don't even think about leaving until you explain everything!"
