Chapter 171: Chapter 171
Flora suddenly woke up, screaming and pushing her to the ground. "Chiyoko! You did it on purpose! Why did you do this? You owe me for my piano!"
Chiyoko was pushed to the ground by her, and her forehead accidentally hit the piano stand. She felt a lot of pain. But being able to spill milk on her piano left her very satisfied and happy! She covered her forehead, struggling to get up from the ground.
Flora, however, rushed at her without venting her anger, grabbing her hair and scolding loudly, "If you have any grievances, target me! Why tarnish this innocent lifeless thing?" Tears overflowed from her eyes; she was truly heartbroken!
An evil thought arose in Chiyoko's mind. If she could seize this opportunity to harm the child in her belly, then she would have no reason to stay! She forcefully grabbed Flora's arm, intending to push her into the piano stand. However, the corner of her eye caught a figure at the door.
Chiyoko quickly changed her tone, holding onto her arm and pleading tearfully, "Please let me go, I really didn't mean it. I swear I accidentally knocked over the cup!"
"You wretch! Is swearing useful? Who can't see that you did it on purpose?" As Flora raised her palm to strike her, she was suddenly pulled back.
Mrs. Smith's angry reprimand echoed in her ears, "Stop it right now!"
Then, her steps faltered, and unexpectedly, she felt her body leaning backward. Rather than falling to the ground, she found herself falling into a broad embrace. Merely by sensing the breath emanating from behind, she knew it was Oliver!
Struggling, Flora still wanted to hit Chiyoko again, but her body was tightly held by Oliver. He whispered in her ear, "Flora! Calm down! Stop it!"
"I don't want to calm down! I want to kill this heartless woman!" Flora shouted, squirming and struggling.
"That's enough!" Mrs. Smith, who had entered with them, roared. She went over to lift Chiyoko from the ground, asking with concern, "What happened? Look at how she bruised your forehead!"
Chiyoko, covering the bruise on her forehead with one hand, tearfully explained, "I was just teaching Flora to play the piano, and the milk cup somehow spilled. But it really isn't my fault..."
"You..." Flora was furious, almost spitting blood. She had never seen such a despicable and shameless person. Trapped in Oliver's embrace, she was too angry to utter a word!
Mrs. Smith, who already disliked Flora, scolded angrily, "Is it just because the piano got dirty? Let someone check it, clean it up, and that'll be it. Look at how you've beaten Chiyoko." As she spoke, she tidied Chiyoko's hair, which had been disheveled by Flora!
"It's all my fault. I shouldn't have put the milk on the piano keys," Chiyoko choked guiltily.
Every word she spoke pushed Flora's anger to the highest level. But secretly, she chuckled to herself, thinking it would be even more perfect if she could make her miscarry. Unfortunately, why wouldn't Oliver let her go? It would be so satisfying to see her go crazy!
"Enough, Chiyoko. Stop talking and go out to get some medicine," Oliver urged, afraid that Flora might be driven to death from anger.
Mrs. Smith also comforted her, "It's spilled. As long as it didn't scald anyone, let's go. I will help you with the medicine."
After saying that, Mrs. Smith walked towards the door with Chiyoko, while Flora shouted at her back, "Chiyoko, don't leave! If you have the guts, don't leave! Stop pretending to be pitiful!"
"Enough! Haven't you already taken revenge?" Oliver held her close, but Flora remained uncalm, forcefully trying to pry his arms wrapped around her, yelling, "Oliver, let go of me! Why are you all protecting her? Why are you all falling for her tricks?"
"I am not protecting her!" Oliver explained.
Flora immediately burst into tears, continuing to struggle and curse loudly, "You heartless people! All of you are helping her!" After shouting, she lowered her head and bit down on Oliver's arm, attempting to make him let go!
With a muffled groan, anger surged through Oliver, and he freed one hand to grab her chin, lowering his lips onto hers fiercely.
This move worked, as Flora finally quieted down, and stiffened. Her eyes, filled with rage, were replaced with a stunned expression, staring at this handsome face so close to hers! Oliver kissed her?? Was he insane?
Or maybe she was insane too, as she didn't feel repulsed by his kiss at all. Instead, she even felt a hint of familiarity.
Yes, it was Maxwell's breath, very much like him! Was she missing Maxwell so much after being bullied? Did she long for him to stand up for her, which made her feel his presence in Oliver's breath?
After a daze, Flora woke up from her astonishment, placing her hands on Oliver's chest and pushing forcefully. How could she let Oliver kiss her? He was Maxwell's younger brother!
Oliver did not trouble her, reluctantly releasing her lips but still holding her in his arms. He gazed at her quietly and said, "You can buy another piano if it's broken, but be careful of the baby in your belly. Once it's gone, it won't come back."
Flora was shocked, looking up at him, her mouth slightly open, unsure of what to say. Was she too agitated just now? She didn't consider her special identity at all.
The tenderness on Oliver's face moved her to tears. He cared for her!
Oliver raised his hand to wipe away the tears on her face and comforted her, "Don't worry. I'll call someone from the piano store to clean it up. Pianos are not as susceptible to water as electronic products; there won't be any problems, you know?"
"Okay," Flora replied absentmindedly, lowering her head. She felt uncultured, going crazy over such a trivial matter. But she still wanted everyone to know that she was innocent, and Chiyoko's guilt was just an act!
Looking up, she gazed at Oliver and asked softly, "Second Young Master, do you believe what I said? Chiyoko did it on purpose. She claimed to teach me to play a piece, but she took the opportunity to spill milk on the piano keys. I saw it very clearly."
Oliver slightly curled his lips, giving her a faint smile. "Do you think this issue still holds any meaning? Let's just let it go; it's a minor incident."
Flora wryly smiled. Oliver remained neutral, but she couldn't blame him because there was no evidence, and Chiyoko's remorse was too convincingly acted. Anyone who saw it wouldn't believe her words!
"I understand," Flora nodded, stepping out of his embrace.
"Then rest well; I'll go out first and call someone to clean the piano." Oliver patted her shoulder and then walked towards the door.
"Thank you, Second Young Master," Flora said to his retreating figure, watching the door slam shut. She raised her hand, gently touching the lips that he had just kissed, and her face involuntarily blushed again.
Why did Oliver kiss her? Could it be that he had feelings for her? Or was it purely to calm her down? In their usual interactions, she could sense that Oliver did indeed have feelings for her.
But she was Maxwell's woman now! How could Oliver make the same mistake he made a year ago and fall for someone who was with Maxwell?
Flora lowered her head and glanced at herself, wondering what exactly about her was so attractive. Not only did Oliver seem to have feelings for her, but Kevin also appeared fond of her, yet the devil Maxwell showed no interest in her at all!
