Chapter 150: Chapter 150
"Flora..." Two pairs of dissatisfied eyes were fixed on her face.
Flora White sighed inwardly, knowing she couldn't escape this. Reluctantly, she spoke up, "What he said is true. The legendary Mr. Maxwell is indeed his Big Brother, and also... the biological father of my unborn child."
"What did you say?" The disapproving looks turned to shock. Chloe Brook widened her mouth in astonishment and said displeasedly, "Didn't you claim earlier that the child belonged to the bandit who kidnapped you? Ha! Now you dare to deceive me!" Chloe gritted her teeth in frustration.
"My Big Brother is not a bandit!" Robin protested with a mouthful of food, finally satisfied that he had gathered enough items on his tray.
Flora chuckled nervously, trying to appease them, "I was just joking. I know your Big Brother is not a bandit." She had to restrain herself from complaining to him to avoid any trouble. But deep inside, she resented him fiercely. Wasn't he a demon? Even bandits might have more humanity and kindness than him!
"It seems that the baby in your belly has quite a background," Chloe sneered, glancing at Robin involuntarily. This angelic child must have a handsome brother, she thought.
Feeling attacked by both of them, Flora felt uneasy and looked around. Then a thought struck her, and she took Robin's hand. "Little Young Master, let me take you to wash your hands."
"But I just washed them at McDonald's. I don't want to!" Robin protested.
Flora ignored his resistance and pulled him away from his seat, whispering, "You just washed them, and now it's time to eat!"
"I don't want to!" Robin struggled and shook off her hand, turning to run back. After a few steps, he bumped into someone's legs and exclaimed, "Ouch!"
"Hey! Can't you watch where you're going, you naughty child?" The woman who was bumped scolded in a coquettish tone.
Flora quickly apologized to the woman, pulling Robin and saying, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry... It was an accident."
"Hmph!" The beautiful woman huffed. She scolded but didn't leave.
Flora looked up in confusion, but before she could see the woman's angry face clearly, she was stunned by the man beside her—Kevin?! It was him!
Kevin looked at her with surprise but quickly composed himself. His gaze shifted downward and landed on Robin, who was secretly smearing pastry on the woman. After studying him for a few seconds, Kevin extended his right hand and lifted Robin's chin, closely examining him. A mysterious expression appeared on his calm face.
The woman glanced at the crumbs on her skirt, let out a scream, and rushed to the restroom.
Robin raised his dirty little hands and looked up with a shocked face. After a while, he stammered, "Big Brother? Second Brother? No... that's not right..." He shook his head, puzzled. This person in front of him was neither his Big Brother nor his Second Brother, but why did they look so similar? It was strange!
Flora was sweating in fear and confusion. Her mind was in chaos. This was bad! Maxwell would be furious if he found out that she had brought Robin to see Kevin. He hated Kevin the most!
"Hi... Mr. Kevin... Long time no see," Flora awkwardly bit her tongue. In her mind, she kept lamenting. She discreetly glanced at Chloe and Linda, who were hiding in a corner. Damn it! Weren't they sure that Kevin had already left the hotel? God, she was being sabotaged by these two!
Kevin didn't pay attention to her. He looked down at Robin, who had a puzzled expression on his face, and smiled gently, "I'm not your Big Brother or your Second Brother, I'm Kevin. Nice to meet you, little boy."
"But why do you look so much like my Big Brother and Second Brother?" Robin asked, confused. He had grown up around Maxwell and Oliver, and he couldn't differentiate between them as Flora did.
"There's no reason. It's just a coincidence," Kevin chuckled. Then he turned to Flora. The gentle smile on his face turned into a sneer. Mockingly, he said, "Miss Flora, it seems like you're living a good life, having the time to wander around."
He had been worried about her being mistreated by Maxwell at the Smith Family Mansion. After all, Maxwell believed that the child was his, and given his hatred, how could he tolerate Flora living a good life?
Flora had been in an awkward situation since seeing him, and she didn't know what to do. God knew what kind of life she had lived at the Smith Family Mansion. It was horrible! She knew that Kevin cared about her. She also knew that he had been in a constant power struggle with Maxwell, which he had lost completely. He must have been extremely frustrated!
Understanding all of these, Flora White didn't care about his attitude towards her or what he said.
"She ran away on her own," Robin sneered. If it wasn't for him, Flora wouldn't have had the chance to go shopping. He was a hero and would claim this reward from her in the future!
His words made Flora even more embarrassed. She glanced at Kevin secretly with embarrassment and quickly lowered her gaze.
Kevin's heart skipped a beat. She ran away? Did Maxwell abuse her and imprison her? Did he even control her basic freedom? He stared at her uncomfortable face and spoke calmly, "Is that so? You ran away?"
"Uh... Mr. Kevin, thank you for your previous care. Your girlfriend is waiting for you outside." After speaking, Robin tried to escape.
Unfortunately, just as she turned around, her wrist was grabbed by him. Her body was forcefully turned back to its original position. Flora was stunned and looked up at Kevin, who had a fierce expression on his face. She felt a bit nervous as she didn't know what he intended to do.
Kevin stared at her, who was eager to escape, and spoke irritably, "She's not my girlfriend, don't falsely label her!" The attitude of the beautiful woman towards Robin had disgusted him, so he didn't want to hear Flora say those words.
Deep down, he didn't like hearing Flora pair him up with any woman. Why? Perhaps only he knew.
