Celestial Refining Divine Scripture Chapter 78

"Magic moon!"

Xu Yang’s spirit tightened; he no longer cared about refining the severed arm. With a thought, he put away the Celestial Refining Divine Tripod, his gaze fixed on the slowly condensing magic moon, while he sensed the changes in the world around him.

The Yin Qi thickened at a speed visible to the naked eye.

The moon was black, chillingly bright!

As soon as it appeared, the once misty world darkened even further.

A thin halo spread from the edge of the magic moon, piercing through the endless black fog.

The feeling of eerie coldness intensified, and the unseen erosion grew ever fiercer!

"The moon’s halo... It actually makes my spirit sluggish."

Xu Yang’s eyes flashed with shock.

He sprang up, grabbed the hound in one hand, scanned the clouds overhead, and raced swiftly in one direction.

Several dozen breaths later.

Xu Yang appeared beneath a thick cloud bank; though the moon’s halo still shone through, the sensation of sluggishness had greatly diminished.

"As expected, it’s the moon’s halo. Anyone illuminated by it suffers accelerated erosion; their spirit and thoughts become slow!"

This is the truly terrifying aspect of the rising magic moon.

One must know, his Spiritual Power is comparable to the Yin Realm.

Far stronger than Hong Yuan by countless times; beneath the Yang Realm, there shouldn’t be many whose Spiritual Power surpasses his.

Yet the magic moon had just appeared, and already he felt its effect—this was extraordinary!

"No rush. Let’s test how powerful the moon’s halo really is."

Xu Yang’s expression flickered, and then he stepped out of the cloud-shrouded region again.

He would need to stay here for a full month, and had to confirm everything.

Time slipped by quietly.

Xu Yang sat cross-legged on the ground, a thin layer of moon’s halo shrouding him.

An unseen erosion, as if chilling liquid clinging to every inch of his body, endlessly burrowing in.

Yet his spirit, once he was on guard, no longer felt so sluggish.

Several hours passed.

Everything remained within Xu Yang’s tolerable range.

Suddenly.

His mind jolted.

Wisps of condensed, tangible black vapor appeared on the edge of his spiritual barrier, about to invade.

"This is the solidified power of the magic moon."

Xu Yang clicked his tongue, hastily mobilizing his Spiritual Power for defense.

For a time, the magic moon’s power could not breach the barrier.

Xu Yang pondered a moment, and a wild idea came to him—could he absorb it to enhance his Spiritual Power?

Thinking this, he meditated deeply, and slowly lifted his blockade.

Whoosh!

A wisp of magic moon’s power invaded his consciousness.

Immediately, Xu Yang summoned all his Spiritual Power to envelop it.

Refining it with full force!

Ten breaths, thirty breaths, sixty breaths...

"Damn!"

"How is this possible?"

Xu Yang’s face filled with shock, disbelief.

He simply couldn’t refine it.

The magic moon’s power was not especially strong, but it was peculiarly unique; wrapped in his Spiritual Power, it remained unscathed.

As if they were entirely unrelated forces.

After long contemplation, Xu Yang could only attribute it to the unique origin of the magic moon.

No wonder Hong Yuan was so deeply fearful when the magic moon was mentioned!

It couldn’t be refined, only resisted!

As time passed and the erosion grew stronger, there was no way he could resist for long.

"But what about this?"

Xu Yang didn’t give up; his eyes flashed, and he quickly closed them, letting his consciousness slip into emptiness.

In the next moment, the void came into view.

A chain appeared out of thin air.

Instantly.

The magic moon’s power trembled violently, as if sensing an unspeakable terror.

Seeing this, Xu Yang’s face broke into delighted surprise: "So it works!"

He hurriedly controlled the chain to suppress the magic moon’s power.

Just one wisp was crushed by the chain in an instant, then, in a few short breaths, it disappeared without a trace.

Buzz!!

Xu Yang frowned slightly; his Spiritual Power hadn’t increased in the slightest. That shouldn’t be right.

No matter how minute, he should feel it.

"Wait..." Xu Yang fixed his gaze on the chain, a shocking guess rising in his mind. Uncertain, he quickly introduced another wisp of the magic moon’s power.

Soon, he let out a sigh of relief, and his joy intensified.

It wasn’t his Spiritual Power that improved, but rather the Spiritual Chain!

The chain manifested by the Heaven-locking Seal!

"The chain can seal the Demon Dragon Saber’s Dragon Spirit. Rooted in the Heaven-locking Seal and driven by my spirit and will, if it can absorb magic moon’s power to become denser and stronger..."

First, the Demon Dragon Saber’s unleashed ferocity would be even greater!

Second, here, he would no longer fear the strange erosion of the magic moon!

Yin Qi could be transformed into Essence Qi to replenish consumption.

"I can’t believe I forgot about this before. If I throw magic disciples and corpse puppets into the Celestial Refining Divine Tripod, can they also be transformed into Purest Essence Qi?"

If possible, as long as he doesn’t go wild here, the danger would decrease greatly.

So resolved.

Xu Yang eagerly stood up on the spot, mind working in two directions: one thought controlling the chain to absorb and suppress the magic moon’s power, the other seeking magic disciples and corpse puppets.

He didn’t search long before hearing a piercing scream.

Seeing an Earth Tier magic disciple, Xu Yang raised his brow slightly.

The magic disciple before him appeared completely insane, like a berserk beast.

Early Stage of Yin Realm, yet the demonic aura swirling around was thicker than that of the Middle Stage magic disciple from before.

Xu Yang glanced up at the magic moon, a calculating look in his eyes.

It seems with the magic moon’s appearance, these magic disciples go mad as well.

As he pondered, the magic disciple had already noticed Xu Yang, and charged at him with a roar.

Its pair of pitch-black eyes even reflected a black crescent moon, bone-chilling!

"Dragon and Serpent!"

Xu Yang banished distracting thoughts, drew the Demon Dragon Saber, and took a step forward.

The saber’s edge turned into a dragon, a giant serpent entwined!

Like a dragon and serpent twisting, tearing through the sky in a solitary flash.

Boom!

The magic disciple crashed hard, its body covered in cracks but still struggling.

Xu Yang stepped up, summoned the Celestial Refining Divine Tripod, and slammed it over the target.

Ten breaths later.

Inside the tripod, a mass of Purest Essence Qi gathered.

Seeing this, Xu Yang was overjoyed: "This magic ground is nothing less than a treasure land for me!"

No matter what cunning you have, I’ll see how you stand against me!

In that instant, his thoughts cleared, all hesitation vanished!

Xu Yang vaulted up, charging deeper into the domain.

The hunt begins!

Two days later.

Outside the magic hunting ground, Barbarian Race Martial Artists arrived one after another.

Some strode straight in, some examined the stone monuments here and there.

"Tsk, tsk, looks like the Magic Disciples ranked Gold and Black have been swapped out again, but no change among the Earth Tier ones!"

"What nonsense, those Earth Tier names all have strength at Yin Realm Perfection. Not something you kill so easily."

"Yin Realm Perfection—I’m still quite a ways off. If I could kill one of those, it would be massive glory!"

"Hey, look here."

"What is it?"

A group gathered over, all eyes fixed on one monument.

Only to see one name appear over a dozen times on the stone.

"Who is this Demon Dragon? Just by the name, you know it’s unusual. He’s slain so many Earth Tier magic disciples."

"Impressive, killed more than a dozen Earth Tier magic disciples in a row—haven’t seen anybody so fierce in a long time."

"Maybe someone who just came back from the fortress?"

The crowd stared at the monument’s battle record in shock.

Earth Tier—Yin Realm level—already far from weak.

Most who come here for trial are True Void Realm, Yin Realm!

Yang Realm is rare.

And anyone on the stone monument, there’s no way they just killed Early Stage magic disciples; at least most have slain Middle Stage, maybe even Late Stage ones to qualify.

This unknown powerhouse stirred up quite a storm.

"Helan Kui—hey, your whole team is here?"

"Where’s Hong Yuan?"

Someone turned and was surprised, offering a warm greeting.

Helan Kui, at the head, cast a cold glance at the stone monument and said icily, "Hong Yuan’s dead. Died in the hunting ground. Any of you seen him?"
