Aaron sat by the fireplace of their new apartment with their cat Lucy and their dog Coco both curled up at his feet, a glass of his favourite wine in his hand as rays from the fire cast a glowing glint on his wedding band, life was good, business was doing great, his marriage was pure bliss and he had twins on the way. He smiled brightly as he felt his wife’s arms wrap themselves around his neck from behind, her scent filling his nose. ‘’ Do you think your mother will accept us when our kids are born?’’. ‘’Well she’s a tough one but the answer is yes, she might never accept us but she will love our kids why do you care so much though?’’. ‘’ Because I know you care Aaron, you act like you don’t but I know you miss her, I see the look on your face every time she refuses to see you or pick your calls, giving her up must have been so hard for you’’ she says softly pecking his cheek. ‘’It is … I mean, it was but I have no regrets Paris, my mom as much as I love her can be really tough, even tougher to understand, she’s confused, angry and hurt but she is not a bad person Paris … I hope one day you both will get along as you both mean the world to me, thanks for noticing and understanding … I love you. ‘’ Right back at ya baby’’ Paris says with a smile kissing his forehead and rubbing his hands. Sighing he looked into the fire, accepting the truth of his situation but whatever happened he would always be fine, his family will be fine. He would make sure of that.
