Chapter 220: Chapter 220
"What?" Qin Han removed the cigarette from his mouth. "Didn’t Bo Xichen spend a hundred million?"
Qin Siling couldn’t help but speak. "Dad, can this be the same? The money Bo Xichen used to buy the painting came out of his own pocket and went into Gu Anxi’s. It was just like playing around for him."
Qin Han was stunned for a moment, then sighed. "Ask again if we can raise the price a little."
Qin Siling shook her head. "That person isn’t willing to increase the bid."
Qin Han asked again, "What about those socialites in Beicheng? Doesn’t anyone want it?"
At this question, Qin Siling said softly, "Probably because of the Bo Family, no one is willing to take it! Dad, we really need money now. It’s not a solution for this painting to be stuck in our hands. Why don’t we just sell it!"
Qin Han glanced at her, then took a deep drag from his cigarette.
Finally, he said, "Sell it then!" After saying this, he seemed a bit lost.
He probably felt nostalgic for when he first arrived in Beicheng. He and his group had been full of pride and elation as they stepped onto Beicheng’s soil, and he recalled the envious gazes from others when he won Luo Lin’s painting at the auction that night. All of that felt like a dream now.
Gu Anxi was lounging on the couch reading a comic when her phone rang.
She answered the call, glanced at Bo Xichen, and then whispered, "Then you go meet him. But stick to what I said, don’t raise the price."
The person on the other end was a young man who respectfully replied, "Understood, Director Gu."
After Gu Anxi hung up, she went back to her comic.
Bo Xichen was at his desk attending to business. He casually asked, "Whose call was that? It sounded like a young man."
"Your ears are sharp." Gu Anxi flipped through her comic, swinging her long legs. "Want me to explain?"
"No need." Dr. Bo said in a low voice, "I’m confident you don’t have the energy left to pursue anyone else."
Gu Anxi muttered "gentlemanly rascal" under her breath. Inspiration struck her, and she immediately grabbed a brush and started drawing on paper. Bo Xichen waited for a long time, but she didn’t say anything. He looked up, saw her scribbling away, and walked over. "What are you drawing?"
Gu Anxi quickly covered the paper. "Not showing you."
"Not showing me?" Professor Bo lowered his head, leaned close to her ear, and whispered, "Gu Anxi, is there anything I haven’t seen yet?"
Gu Anxi blushed. "That’s different." Read complete versıon only at 𝗇𝗈𝗏𝖾𝗅•𝖿𝗂𝗋𝖾•𝗇𝖾𝗍
He hummed. "So the little one has little secrets now."
Although he’d learned the results concerning that small bottle of Jing, he hadn’t asked her about it. Bo Xichen had other plans. Fengxi’s information indicated that Qingcheng had a large amount of Jing, which should be under Gu Anxi’s control. It was highly probable that only she knew how to purify it; others likely couldn’t. He felt a warm surge of pride in his heart; his little one was truly remarkable.
He leaned over and kissed her forehead. "You go on and play."
"Play?" Gu Anxi grumbled. "I’m doing serious business."
Bo Xichen chuckled softly and went back to his own affairs.
Gu Anxi received another call from the same young man.
After hanging up, Gu Anxi got up. "Uncle, I’m going out for a bit."
Bo Xichen looked up. "To meet a man?"
She walked over and leaned on his desk, facing him. "Yes! Are you angry?"
"If I were angry, would you not go?" He looked down again. "Drive carefully. Come back early. Your mother asked us over to her place for dinner."
Gu Anxi went "Oh?" "She misses me?"
Bo Xichen said solemnly, "It’s my mother who misses you."
