Chapter 6: Chapter 6
When I entered the house, I was still trying to recover from everything that happened this night. I sat down on my couch and exhaled tensed air. That man was surely sin personified.
This is what I have always wanted. A man like him with so much worth and finesse who could take care of all my needs and budgets without stress even if it means playing a little dirty while at it. But when I had those thoughts I had envisaged a pot-bellied sugar daddy with a few qualms and blemishes that would be the price I would have to pay to achieve a life of luxury.
Not this.
This was a simple temptation. And he says he needs a pet. Which literally meant a slut. He would use me until he eventually tires for me and decided to dump my ass. Seating in the same space with that man is simply suffocating and engorging. Not only was his aura sensually assaulting but he occupies multiple spaces without even meaning to.
My mind wandered to the way he had ravished me in the restaurant causing my cheeks to heat up. That was really slutty of me, allowing a man I just met in a few minutes to undulate me in such a fashion was utterly outrageous. I feel so ashamed of myself. What would Mandy say if I told her what happened?
I jerked away in fright as my phone started ringing close to me getting my getting instantly away from the lecherous thoughts I was having. I smiled as Mandy’s name flashed on the screen.
“Mandy, tell me you are coming to my house this night?”
“I'm sorry darling. I was very busy when you called initially. How was the outing? Hope you had fun?” she was sounding off. And she evaded my question.
“Yes, it was...fun,” I said the fun sharply as though I had to fling it off by chard tongue.
“Uhmm, you sound excited”
Do I?
“Mandy stop it already. Please come home I have a lot to share with you, please”
“I can't Val, I'm sorry. Something came up and now I have to spend the night here. Fredrick is very demanding” Great. But he is married!
I wanted to scream at her to leave the man and come home but I didn't want to sound like the self-righteous bitch. After all, I just acted out of place with a man I knew nothing about in a fucken restaurant. How am I even sure he isn't married?
“It's fine Mandy, we will see tomorrow then”
“Hey, c’mon don't sound like that. Okay, here is the deal. I will come home very early in the morning and then we would talk while going to school. Deal?”
“Fine. Just take care of yourself”
“Yea, mother Theresa” I snickered. That was what we called anyone who showed too much care. Especially when we think it's all camouflage.
“You know I mean it” I drawled lazily already feeling the cold hands of sleep trying to snatch me away.
“Yea. I have to go. Bye”
“Bye,” I hung up and replaced my phone close to me. I stretched out on the prickly couch feeling the leather peels sticking on my body due to its age.
Well, this night is going to be one fucken great night. I was feeling sleepy but my mind kept drifting to Mr. Summer's eyes. Since I couldn't surrender to sleep, curiosity overpowered me. I picked up my phone and did a quick search on him.
Cameron Sylvester.

The next morning, as usual, I was woken up by my annoying pig-headed alarm. I had often contemplated trashing it and other times thought of destroying it to bits but decided against it. Since it was one of the important things that have survived my time with me.
I repeated the same process every other day. Trudge grudgingly to the bathroom, have a long hot dip, come out, and go down for breakfast before coming up to prepare for school.
This morning, I went through my food counter for what I would be making for breakfast and settled for Potato gnocchi in bacon with spinach cream sauce. I made it as fast as I could and served it before the arrival of Mandy.
After eating, I quickly prepared for school. I was tying my hair with my red bandana when I heard the doorbell chime and shouted to the person to come in, being that the door was already unlocked.
I didn't hear footsteps come toward the bedroom because I was expecting it to be Mandy. I finished tying the bandana and checked it out from the back. Smooth. I walked out of the bedroom to the living room.
“Mandy?” I looked around the place. There was no sign of Mandy nor did I perceive her signature cologne that often signals her presence. I was about to turn back to the room to wear my clothes when I noticed a package lying close to the front door. What's that? I trailed to it and picked it up.
Wow. It had a pink ribbon tied around a boxy package with a flower attached to it. I smelled the flower. Nice. A daffodil.
Talking about daffodils, where did I hear that? I went to sit on the couch to unravel the package. I gently dropped the flower on the table and quickly removed the bound holding the gift.
Inside the brown papered package was a big teddy bear with the color of my eyes. On its body was written in big capital letters. ‘GOOD MORNING’
I was marveled and flummoxed. I smiled. I saw a little note inside the pack and picked it up to read.
‘For the fiery rose that woke up this morning. I hope you consider my proposition’
Without much ado, I already knew where the package came from. Cameron. What a way to wake in the morning indeed.
Fiery rose?
I stood to go inside but my thoughts were yanked to the door as it flung open and Mandy walked in already dressed for school. She was looking gaily, her face glimmering as she looked at me still bearing the package.
“I'm sorry I'm late Val, I kinda woke up late and had to rush home to prepare. What's that? Uuuu, that's cute” she rushed to my side and took the bear. “Who sent this? Val, you are looking fab”
I shrugged and started walking to the door of my bedroom. “it's from Cameron.”
“Cameron? Girl, who is Cameron?” she was behind me. I started wearing my short jean purple skirt and looked at her “the guy I went out with last night. He's a man, as a middle-aged man”
“Wow. And he's already showering you with gifts. That's really sexy. No man has ever showered me with a gift on a first date”
“Stop, Mandy. That's not the point. The point is I'm scared. That guy is super hot and his presence undoes me”
“Now I'm truly confused Val, you wanted a rich dude that would spend lavishly on you and in your words ‘you wouldn't mind if he could be as hot as hell so what's your problem now? since when does looking good become a crime?”
“That's it, Mandy. Not only is he cute, but he is also dominating. He literally makes every other man in a room seem vague”
She started laughing. Like my girl was fucken laughing in a very serious issue like this. “I'm serious Mandy. This is no fucken joke”
“Okay, I know, and I'm sorry for laughing but it's serious. Let's go, Val, you have no problem. I will kill to have a hot man like you described, want to spend on me. Not all this disgusting Papis I have to endure every other night ew!”
We left the house to school to repeat another phase of my life like I've been doing for the last two years. I can't wait to finish college and finally get a job. Oh, Lord, the thought of that fears me too. I hope if this works out that he sets me up for life, never to need work.
I honked my horn at Michael, our college playboy as he occupied my space in the school parking lot. He had his, but just to taunt me and get on my nerves, he would choose to park on mine. I knew his tricks.
“You have all the hot guys wanting your attention Val. I wish I were you”
“Stop it, Mandy. It's as annoying as piss. How is this even enticing?” I motioned to the asshole as he alights from his car and stood in front of it giving me the usual killer smirk that would have the other ladies drooling. But never me.
I was pissed now. I huffed and got off my car “Can you move that rickety trash off my parking space, Michelle?” He frowned immediately at my mispronunciation of his name.
Gotcha! I intentionally did that.
“It's fucken Michael Vally!” he threw his little spoilt brat tantrum. I rolled my eyes at him and motioned to his car “ Move it. Who cares if it's Obama?” he was appalled for a minute and finally kicked his tires in vexation. I maintained my tight countenance.
His creased face soon morphed into a mischievous smug look. “Fuck yourself, Valeria. My car stays here” he picked up his bag and started leaving.
“Michael. I'm going to fucken kill you!” I shouted at him. He smiled and did a little stupid wild dance before running off to class.
What a prick!
“ Can you imagine that?” I slouched back into the car to complain to Mandy but, she wasn't listening. She was on her phone typing furiously her face furrowed in uttermost concentration. “Mandy!”
She jerked up “ Yea, yea” she looked around her as if just realizing we were in school and needed to make it quick to class. “Why don't you park in my space huh? Everyone knows Michael is a jerk”
I reversed and went to park in hers and then we left for class.
The day was very bored for me. We spent it moving from one dumb class to the next and to top it off, I have to submit the record at the close of school to the chancellor’s secretary for approval. I hated seeing that woman's face, with her bitchy attitude.
“Vally,” I cringed inside. Lord, not today I beg of you, Donald. I slowly turned to face the bane of my life in school. “Hy Donald” I put on a cherry look.
“I just wanted to give you this. We did a mini-meeting this morning since you weren't informed, I decided to do the minute for you” my eyes widened. There was a meeting this morning?. That bastard! So he now does meetings behind my back. I will definitely have his hide for this.
“Thanks so much, Donald, this means a lot to me” I took the paper from him and waved it in appreciation. “I will go through it later after class.”
He nodded and just like that he turned and walked off. That was fast. Wo, I took a turn to the cafeteria. I was feeling famished and needed something to churn my hunger down if I intend to survive that rugby old wench.
“Hey, Vally?” I sat down and waved at Chloe. I never know why Chloe would often make it look like we were friends when it is obvious we hated each other. All the same, I played to her tune, “ Hy Chloe”
“Here you are!” An out of breath Mandy collided into me with her face not able to contain her joy “What is it?” I miffed out with the food in my mouth.
“A man is looking for you outside. I was told by Gregory while on my way here” I choked on my food. A man? God no.
