Chapter 25: Chapter 25

Victoria exhaled and rolled over to the other side of the bed. "I want to go to Calabar too" she said.

Harvey turned to watch her profile "I'm sending only two doctors, they don't need nurses. Maybe you should ask Felicity to give you her other ticket" He suggested.

Victoria hissed "I don't think so. Speaking of Felicity, you should get rid of her. She's rude and she picks on me every time. She called me a slüt the other day" Victoria pouted.

Harvey sat on the bed "Victoria you worry over too many petty things" Harvey said.

"Petty things, you think I'm petty? Ugh! Just because I want to go to Calabar too" Victoria glared at him.

Harvey rolled his eyes wondering how he put up with her, well any man would put up with Victoria. She was beautiful, sexy and a vixen in the sheets.

"I didn't say you were petty, I said you worry over..." Harvey was saying when Victoria cut him off.  "I heard you the first time." Victoria snapped. Harvey shook his head miserably.  "You should increase my salary" Victoria muttered changing the topic.

Harvey glared at her "This is the fifth time you've asked for an increase, I'm not going to do that anymore. If I increase your salary again you'll be earning almost the same as Felicity" Harvey said.

Victoria glared back at him "I don't care,  you should have thought of that before you started sleeping with me. I still have that sex tape, I wonder if you would like your wife to know what you do with your spare time" Victoria threatened, getting out of the bed. She picked up her panties and bra off the floor.

Harvey sighed and shook his head "And you're right Harvey, Calabar is too petty. Cancel the trip for everyone" Victoria said petulantly.

"Vikki, the tickets are non refundable and they have important tasks to carry out in Calabar. I can't cancel the trip" Harvey said.

Victoria turned to look at him, there was a sour look on her face. "That's fine, I'll just send your wife the sex tape. And then your marriage will be over, she'll hate you for cheating on her,  I'll also make sure the tape gets to your children. After all I have nothing to lose, I can always get another job. I have my ways, you on the other hand will have a soiled reputation" Victoria finished theatrically.

"Fine, I'll cancel the trip" Harvey said with resignation. "Good boy" Victoria patted his head and walked away.

Her next stop was the hospital, she was done rooting for Darrell.  He didn't want her, fine.  She'll just have to teach him a lesson he'll never forget. She took out her phone from her bag and dialled Mr Amity.

'Hello, nurse Vikki" Valentino answered on the first ring.

"Mr Amity, could we meet up privately again . There is something I'd like to tell you this evening" Victoria said.

"I can't make it this evening, how about tomorrow afternoon?" Valentino asked. "Oh that's fine, thank you" Victoria replied and ended the call.

She knew Halal's secret now, time to tell the whole world. She would just have to spice up the little details she'd found.

"Oh... Okay. Any reasons?" Darrell asked over the phone. Halal watched his expression change as he spoke.

"Oh...sure no problem, have you told Felicity?" he asked before nodding his head thoughtfully. "Alright thanks" Darrell said and ended the call.

"What's up?" Halal asked curiously. Darrell shook his head "Doctor Harvey is really strange you know. He just cancelled our trip to Calabar for the most ridiculous reason" Darrell said.

"Why...?" Halal stood up and walked over to him.  Darrell chuckled "He said Calabar is really dangerous by this time of the year. That's just stupid, Felicity and I are adults. We can take care of ourselves" Darrell said.

Halal smiled, "He said that, well what do we know? I haven't been to Calabar before. We'll just have to go some other time" Halal agreed.

"He did say we could take some time off work though, guess we'll have to make new plans" Darrell said.

"I want to stay in bed with you all day and do nothing. My fingers hurt from all that typing and my boss just sent me another contract to translate.  Apparently he's signing on a new model" Halal sighed exhausted.

"I could help" Darrell offered. "You're a darling, I'll read and translate, you'll type" Halal decided. "Okay, cool" Darrell sat beside her and picked up her laptop.

"By the way, I didn't know you and Victoria were on good terms already" Halal said looking concerned.

Darrell threw her a confused expression "What are you talking about?" He asked. Halal rolled her eyes "Victoria was in the house yesterday when I got back, you gave her my hospital file to... " Halal was saying when Darrell interrupted.

"What hospital file?!" he asked alarmed. "You know, some large brown file with my name written on it. She dropped it on the bed and left. She was also wearing your shirt" Halal said amused but Darrell wasn't amused.

"I didn't give Victoria anything and I didn't ask her to come here. Where is the file you're talking about?" Darrell asked.

"I kept it with the books in your wardrobe. Wait a minute, if you didn't ask her to come here with that file, how did she get the file and your keys?" Halal asked.

Darrell frowned "She was snooping as usual, thank God you came when you did" Darrell hissed.

"I can't believe she was here, I don't know how she got the keys to my apartment" Darrell said furiously.

Halal rubbed his shoulders soothingly. "you're so tensed, I hate it when you get angry" Halal pecked his cheek. Darrell sighed before taking his phone out of his pocket to call Victoria.

He dialed her number twice but she didn't answer so he texted her instead. 'You and I need to talk Victoria, it's important that you understand the concept of privacy and boundaries' he texted.

He was so furious, despite the fact that he was trying hard not to show it.  Imagine what would have happened if Halal had checked the contents of the file. He wondered if Victoria had checked the contents too, he hoped not. For her sake, for both of all of them actually. Victoria had a big mouth, she couldn't keep secrets.

"Hiiii, I bought you lunch" Victoria peeked into Felicity's office with a smile. Felicity glared at her "I know you have something to do with Harvey cancelling our trip Victoria. I don't know the leash you have on him but one day it'll be cut off" Felicity said angrily.

Victoria walked into the office with her lips in a little pout. "I'm sorry, it's just that I did it for your own good" Victoria said going to sit beside Felicity.

Felicity threw her a look of disgust " You were just jealous because you weren't allowed to come with us" Felicity accused.

Victoria rolled her eyes "I honestly did it for your own good. I heard Darrell was taking that witch with him and I got worried. I didn't want her to hurt you over there in Calabar" Victoria said.

Felicity hissed. "You're ridiculous, why would Halal hurt me?" Felicity asked.

Victoria grinned "You don't know? Oh my....my...my.....Halal and Darrell have a list of people they suspect for killing her three babies. You're on the list, I was worried they were going to torture you for answers in Calabar" Victoria said mischievously.

Felicity narrowed her eyes at Victoria before bursting into fits of laughter. "You're delusional, you should have gone into drama instead. Take your lunch and get out of my office script writer" Felicity said.

Victoria hissed "Alright doubting Thomas, don't say I didn't warn you. Anyway you're not the only one on the list.  I'm going to tell everyone, the pharmacy attendant is next. I'll save doctor Harvey for later" Victoria faked a smile before walking out of Felicity's office.

Darrell didn't want her, fine.  She'll ruin his career here,  by the time she was done with him, he'll be so sorry for rejecting her for that bïtch.

Mr Amity was very easy to spot anywhere, he was handsome, light skinned and he drew attention by doing just nothing. Victoria noticed a few ladies staring at him as she walked over to his table. So this fine man was married to that bîtch yet she wasn't satisfied. 'Maybe I should claim him for myself' Victoria thought.

She flashed him a smile and he returned a polite smile.  "Good afternoon Mr Amity, thank you for making out time to see me" Victoria smiled.

She wondered if he liked the view of her cleavages, she'd purposely worn a plum colored dress with a plunging neckline. "It's fine, would you like something to drink?" Valentino asked with a small smile playing on his lips.

Victoria nodded and picked up the menu on her table. "You look lovely" Valentino complimented. Victoria smiled sweetly "Thank you Mr Amity" she giggled.

Valentino lowered his eyes 'What exactly did he say that was so amusing?' he wondered before raising his head to signal the waiter.

The waiter came almost immediately to take their order.  "I'll have just Irish coffee" he said to the waiter who nodded and turned to Victoria. "I don't know what I want yet, I'm on a diet. My ass doesn't fit into anything anymore" she bit her lips teasingly.

Valentino wondered if she had a loose nut somewhere in her head.  He hated bimbos, this was the last time he'd meet with her. "What would you like ma'am?" the waiter asked. Victoria looked up at the waiter "Ma'am,  do I look old to you? It's Miss not ma'am" Victoria corrected.

"My apologies miss, have you decided on what you would like to order?" The waiter asked.

"I'll have some Oreos ice cream and some black forest cake" Victoria smiled. "Alright miss" the waiter hurried away.

Victoria turned her attention to Valentino once more.  He was handsome and rich, the ultimate package. "Have you ever been abroad?" Victoria asked.

"I schooled in Canada, that's not important right now. Victoria you sounded urgent when you called, what's wrong?" Valentino asked curiously.

Victoria lowered her eyes.  "You're such a nice man Mr Amity, when I saw it,  I knew I had to tell you" Victoria began dramatically.

"What's that?" Valentino asked. Victoria sniffled "I'm sorry, I'm still emotional. I'm not supposed to tell you but you're a good man" Victoria continued.

Valentino resisted the urge to snap at her.  "It's Doctor Darrell and your wife" Victoria said. The name clicked immediately in Valentino's head, "Darrell?" he repeated.

Victoria nodded "Your wife's gynaecologist, they are having an affair. She has moved in with him, I saw her at his house yesterday when I went to drop some files" Victoria said.

"What?" wasn't Halal in Calabar with her boss? Of course she'd lied. Halal was so different these days, she was like another person entirely.

He frowned, 'So she has moved in with the doctor' he wondered if it was the same Darrell she'd dated years ago.  It couldn't be a coincidence, she changed when she stated consulting the new gynaecologist. It had to be the ex boyfriend, so that's why she wanted a divorce.

"That's not all sir,  I saw something at his apartment" Victoria said. "What?" Valentino asked. "I saw a list, Darrell and your wife believe that you're working with some people at our hospital. The list contains the names of people that are suspected to be responsible for the death of her children" Victoria said.

Valentino looked confused "What are you talking about?" he didn't understand a thing she was saying.

Victoria cleared her throat "Darrell and your wife believe that the children, your children didn't just die. She believes they were killed, she and Darrell have a list of suspects.  I saw your name on the list, I don't believe that. Doctor Darrell is a liar and now your wife is on his side" Victoria said.

Valentino stared at her blankly for a while, so that's why she moved out. "That's preposterous, why would I kill my own children? Can you give me the address of this Doctor?" Valentino asked. "Of course" Victoria smiled to herself.

Darrell would be in super trouble by the time she was done spreading the gospel.

Victoria received another text from Darrell when she stepped out of the restaurant. She smiled wickedly, he'd ignored her in the past. It was her turn to ignore him now.

Her plan was going just fine, tomorrow she would tell Doctor Harvey. She hoped Darrell would be humiliated before he was dismissed. 'Serves him right for rejecting me' she deleted his text before walking to the road to get a cab.

Felicity met Victoria immediately she got to the hospital. "What are you doing here?" Felicity asked. "I'm on the night shift, I have things to do tomorrow" Victoria replied.

Apparently the midwife would be working late tonight, she wanted to spread more of the gospel before morning. "Alright, I'm going home now" Felicity said and signed out of the register.

Victoria faked a smile and turned away from Felicity. Walking over to the reception she pulled Ezinne to a private corner. "When Madam Loveth gets here,  let me know" Victoria said.  "Why?" Ezinne asked curiously.

"You haven't heard?" Victoria asked grinning. Oh this was just too much fun, by tomorrow morning everyone that adored Darrell would hate him and want him gone.

Victoria checked the time again wondering when the midwife would finish up with what she was doing. It was past eleven already, she yawned feeling sleepy.

She got out of her chair and decided to go upstairs to check if Doctor Harvey was around. Doctor Harvey's office was on the top floor, she hated taking the stairs but it wasn't like she had any other choice.

She pulled the charger off her phone and walked out of her station. Doctor Harvey was not around when she got to the top floor and his office was locked. She groaned and leaned against the wall. She was checking her phone for messages when she saw a figure in the dark,  she recognized the person immediately.

"Victoria" the voice didn't sound as  friendly as usual this time.

Victoria smiled nervously "What are you doing here, isn't it late?" she asked.

"I'm here because word has gotten to me that you've been snooping. I thought I'd come pay you a visit. Don't you know it's terrible to spread rumours" the voice grew terse.

"I don't know what you're talking about, look I should get going " Victoria turned to go, she felt goose bumps rise on her skin.

She quickly swiped over her phone screen and clicked on her dial pad.  She had Darrell on speed dial, he was the only person she had on speed dial. The only person she could contact Immediately in this situation. She was sure something was not right, she could feel it.

"Alright Victoria take care" Victoria nodded and walked away.

"Victoria wait, one more question" Victoria halted and turned. "If you fall from here, do you think you'll survive?"

Victoria screamed in fright right before she was pushed down. "I didn't think so either" the voice chuckled.
