Chapter 19: Chapter 19
Darrell was still upset when he got out of his car that he failed to notice there was someone else seated in front of his house.
The figure only got clearer when he neared his front door. He was surprised to see Victoria sitting on the pavement, waiting.
"Victoria, what the heck, what are you doing here?" Darrell looked was very much surprised. He was surprised, he thought she'd be home by now nursing her wounds.
Victoria stood up and walked up to him. "Felicity dropped me off at home, I decided to take a cab and come back to you. I was scared she'd come over to my house to attack me" Victoria said. Then she broke into what he termed as pretentious tears.
"Victoria, go home, seriously. That's just ridiculous, Halal doesn't know your house. She wouldn't come there to assault you" Darrell said.
"You didn't see what she did to me, you didn't see what she did to me. She's mad, she tried to kill me! I'm really scared Darrell, I can't sleep alone tonight" Victoria sobbed moving closer to Darrell.
Darrell rolled his eyes "You called her a childless bitch" Darrell stated.
Victoria gasped in disbelief "I didn't, I swear on my life. I didn't call her a childless bitch, I only went into the restroom to fix my make up. She came onto me and attacked me" Victoria sobbed.
"I'm really not in a good mood Victoria, I think you should go home. I'll get another cab for you, Halal won't come after you" Darrell tried to assure her but she wouldn't listen.
"You're just going to kick me out like that after what I've been through. Where is your sympathy?" Victoria asked outraged.
Darrell stared at her in disbelief, Victoria was bruised up, her cheek swollen and her nose still bleeding yet she was still trying hard to get him. The girl didn't know when to give up, he was tired of her already.
"Fine, come in. Let me see to your injury, you can sleep in the guest room when I'm done" Darrell said. Victoria smiled gratefully before taking his arm.
"Why did you take Halal to the party, you could have asked me instead" Victoria said pouting as he pressed the ice pack to her face.
Darrell shook his head at her pettiness. "You're still a child Victoria, you're very immature, irresponsible and petty. I don't want to be with that kind of person, give up already Victoria. I'm never going to date you, save your pride and dignity. Move on, there are other guys out there" Darrell advised.
Victoria refused to accept that "So you don't find me attractive, you felt nothing when you kissed me?" she asked.
Darrell didn't bother to correct her that it was she who had kissed him and not the other way round. "I felt nothing victoria, you're not my type" Darrell said getting up from the bed in the guest room.
Victoria glared at him "What's your type then, skinny, crazy, married women?" She asked angrily.
"Victoria just drop this argument and go to bed, tomorrow I'll drop you off at home. And we can forget this ever happened, as for the restroom drama at the party, it's best if you don't mention it to anyone" Darrell said turning to leave.
Victoria groaned "Have you slept with her, Is that why you're so committed to her?" Victoria asked upset.
Darrell sighed and turned to look at her "I've never slept with Halal, go to bed Victoria. You look terrible, you need rest" Darrell said and walked out of the room.
Victoria sighed and wondered if her plan to get Valentino Amity home had worked. She'd texted him a lot of information on instagram, hopefully he'd come back and his stupid, batshit crazy wife would leave her Darrell alone.
Felicity burst out laughing when she saw Victoria's face in the morning, she'd come in to Victoria's house to check on Victoria and to inform her that she didn't have to have to come to work for the next fifteen days because they'd given her temporary leave for her supposed illness.
"Action lady, shey your body will relax now. My man, my man, finally you've been beaten because of your man" Felicity said amused.
Victoria glared at her "Did you come here to mock me?" She hissed loudly.
Felicity looked at her busted lips and laughed again. "Seriously, she finished work on your face. I almost don't recognize you, you're like a whole new person" Felicity laughed.
Victoria glared harder, why had the stupid woman come anyway?
Felicity tried to control herself but she couldn't "Oh lord, I still can't imagine how the mouse brought down the elephant. It must be the same way David brought down Goliath" Felicity laughed harder till her stomach hurt.
Victoria stood up very upset now "Okay that's enough Felicity, leave my house. Get up and get lost" Victoria said angrily.
Felicity stood up, a serious look on her face. "You don't have any right to talk to me that way, whether or not you're sleeping with the owner of the hospital you slut. Remember you're beneath me in ranks, I came to tell you that your sugar daddy said you could take some days off work to look after yourself" Felicity said before picking up her bag.
It was common knowledge that Victoria had only been employed at the hospital because she was Doctor Harvey's thing on the side. She glared at Felicity who only straightened her blouse and walked out of the house.
"Can you imagine that biťch, coming over here to mock me at my own house. Who the hell does she think she is?" Victoria yelled kicking her soft cushion angrily.
"It's all that stupid Halal's fault, I hope her husband gives her what she deserves. A good beating" Victoria hissed before sitting down grumpily on the chair.
Daria was surprised when Darrell showed up early in the morning at her house. It was Saturday and she expected him to be jogging about the island or at the gym not looking like a depressed husband standing by her front door.
"Darrell, good morning. What are you doing here?" she asked curiously as she let him in.
Darrell sighed before turning to Daria "Can we talk privately?" he asked. Daria nodded "Well the kids are with my sister in law and Femi isn't around" she said.
Darrell nodded before sitting on a chair. "You wanted to know why Halal and I didn't end up together? okay, I'll tell you" Darrell said.
Daria bit her lips in anticipation "I've always wanted to know, it's not my business but I do want to know" She said.
"There's also something else you should know about Halal but first you have to promise not to tell her" Darrell said dropping a brown paper file on the coffee table.
Daria's eyes widened, what could be so important?
