Chapter 71: Chapter 71
Nobleman Adolphus parked his car by the roadside and looked through the ladies standing outside the pubs and chatting away. A few drunk wolves were singing in a corner, and some were dragging low minded girls away to a dark corner. The place smelt of alcohol, dirt, filth and low ambitions of life.
“Lowlifes,” he muttered and scoffed. He exhaled deeply as he peered through his window. Finally, a beautiful woman walked out of the pub wearing only shorts and a see-through flimsy robe. She sighted his car, and smiled as she approached it. She opened the passenger seat and sat down.
“You are late,” he nagged and she rolled her heavily made up eyes. Her hair had tiny golden rings in it and her fingers were black.
“Busy I was,” she replied and bent over to place a kiss on his cheek. He raised his hand between them and pushed her away.
“Don't,” he warned darkly and she scoffed and sat still.
“Now why did you call me?” she asked.
“I have an assignment for you. Come to this location by 11pm tonight. A certain man would be lured out there to meet you. You are to make him notice you, and make him go down with you there. But while it's happening, scream and try to push him off,” he ordered and gave her a small card. The lady looked at it and raised a brow.
“You want to sabotage someone's name?”
“No. Just personal business.”
“How much are we talking about?”
“I'll pay you ten Remusian Silver bricks if you do it properly.”
“That is a lot for something so small. What exactly would you gain from this, Nobleman? I want a bigger share if you gain way more than you are paying me.”
Adolphus gave a short dry laughter.
“And what if I fail? What if I get caught? Are you willing to go down with me?” he questioned with dark eyes and the lady gulped. She exhaled and looked at the address on the card again.
“Fine. I'll take your payment. But I better not be exposed by you.”
“Do your work well and go your way. Stop being greedy.”
She rolled her eyes dramatically again and opened the door.
“Bye,” she said and left. Nobleman Adolphus smirked evilly as he started the car and drove off. Since his brother would not help him, he would go the extra mile to get what he wanted. This was a goal he had waited decades to reach, and he wasn't going to drop down soon.

Avril exhaled and hugged the bowl to herself. It was like she was determined to keep it despite being caught.
“I don't really appreciate my food stolen, human,” Dakar said coldly and she pouted while staring at her feet. He took a step forward and she took a step backwards. She dug the spoon into the mixture and scooped straight into her mouth.
“Ugh...too cold,” she exclaimed as she chewed and stamped her feet. Dakar couldn't help it. He looked at her and laughed. She laughed too and walked to him.
“I'm sorry I stole your snacks. But you weren't eating them and someone's gotta do that,” she joked as she looked up at him with the bowl in her hand. He took the spoon, scooped a little and brought it to her mouth.
“Next time, don't enter my kitchen,” he warned strictly and she frowned.
“Why?” she asked and peered him in the eye. Something about those eyes made him freeze.
“Because your smell would linger there too,” he answered and moved away from her. Avril watched him walk away darkly. Then she ran after him, dropped the bowl on the dining table and sprinted to his front. He stopped abruptly and stared at her...she stared at him. And as if they both planned it accurately, they enveloped in each other's arms and sealed their bodies with a kiss.
Dakar lifted her up from the floor by her waist and turned around slowly. Avril's arms had his neck caged in as they wrapped around him and trusted him fully to be able to carry her body. Her hand moved up and her fingers found their way into his hair. She raked them through his locs, loosening the messy bun he had made.
“Dakar,” she called when their lips parted a little for air before they sealed them again. Dakar walked her to the dining table and sat her on it. He looked her in the eye and Avril thought that was the most intense look she had ever received from him. His jaw was clenched tight, and his muscles flicked in them. His veins had popped out and there was something about his green eyes that seemed dark, cold, anxious and distant.
“Dakar, what's going on with you? Tell me what's going on with you,” she demanded immediately, her heart ricocheting around her body. He grabbed her face in his palms and kissed her again. This time a little too hard. It got faster, and harder that Avril totally lost her breath and gasped to take in air. She pushed him away and jumped down from the table, breathing fast and holding her chest. Dakar ran fingers through his hair, turned around to not face her and shut his eyes with his hands still in his hair. Something had happened. Something had sparked when they kissed. It created a huge hole in his heart and that hole was beginning to suck him through. It was like a fire portal, consuming whatever it touched and threatening to burn him too. His eyes were burning hot, and his skin too. What was happening?
He turned around to look at Avril but saw her suddenly sprawled on the floor. The fire hole in his heart blazed hotter.
