Chapter 23: Chapter 23

**Nancy's POV**

"How do you know that I'm smiling a lot? Are you somewhere here?" I ask him.

"I am always near to you Selena. You just never got to see me," he says as someone honks the horn of a car.

I look around and watch the car.

The window of the car opens and the man inside is none other than Xander himself. I stand in awe while I see him.

"You want me to come over there?" he asks.

I am just lot in his image in front of me that it takes me some seconds to decipher what he is telling.

"No... Please, get seated inside. I will come to you," I say and walk to his car.

I don't want people to create another scene after they see someone close to me and specially when it is a guy.

Also, he is sick and I don't want to make him take all the difficult decision for me or I would say Selena.

I rush to the car and open the passengers seat door behind and get a seat in there. He closes the window.

As soon as I close the door, he leans in to check my lips.

"That's a good evening kiss," he says and I turn hot on my cheeks. Why is he so cheesy now?

"How was your day? Did you work really hard?" he asks me.

I nod my head.

"Work is never easy," I say.

"Why don't you take off a day from the work? You see it's fine even if you don't work. I can feed you well Selena," he says which makes me to turn kind of feminist.

"No! I am fine with working. There is never an east meat for some people. So, I guess I just need to work harder and reach my goals," I say.

He smiles hearing it.

"I like people with goals. Especially girls! They sound sexy," he says as he holds my hands that's resting on the seat between us.

"Come closer," he says.

"It's okay. I'm fine," I answer but he is always stubborn about his decisions. So, I had to follow him this time too.

And to my amazement, my heart is so much habituated to following his decision. They are automatically always positive to his decisions.

I push myself close to him and he smiles and snakes his hand around my shoulders and pulls my head on his chest.

"Get a good rest, my love. Trust me you won't find a place as comfortable as my chest to sleep on and as warm as my heart to comfort you," he says.

Honestly, he is right. I can never find a place like his heart which could bring out so much of excitement on me and anxiety at the same time. This place is my best place to rest.

It's noisy. I can hear his heart beat elevated and beating so hard but its also so much serene in there.

Its beautiful being right against his chest. He smells good even when he is in medication. I am glad that I get to engulf that smell of him.

He holds my shoulders with his hands and press it on my shoulder with care and I love it so much.

"Did you had lunch?" he asks me.

"Yea and did you?" I ask.

"I was waiting for you to come back home so I could eat," he says and I turn my head to him.

"Why? You're a patient and you need to follow your regime and diet. Can you please not do that?" I say with my heart filled with concern and care.

This feels like we have written back to our high school.

I help him get out of the car and as soon as I enter the house, there are all kinds of delicacies in the dining room. I could smell their beautiful aroma.

"I feel like I am hungry again," I say as I lead him to the dining hall.

We seat on the seat.

"These food seem like they are prepared by some professionals," I say.

"I hired the nutritionist. I need them to regulate on my health," he says and motions me to have the food.

We have a quite delightful lunch at evening and I feel like I won't be eating anything for dinner. My stomach is full and it feels like I would explode at any time.

"Want to have some fresh air?" he asks me and I nod yes.

"Mr. Bradley?" he instructs and Mr. Bradley helps him to the elevator and I follow him.

"To the top floor," he says ans the elevator stops at the top floor.

"Miss Williams! On your own now," Mr. Bradley says and leave us alone in the verandah of top floor.

I help him stand up from his wheel chair and guide him to the verandah.

But as I step on the verandah, I get shock with the lights lightening like beautiful stars right beside me.

I walk ahead.

The more steps I add on it, the more I get the insights of the lights.

"What is going on?" I ask him.

We reach in the middle of the verandah which is decorated with beautiful rose petals and beautiful lavender.

"You love lavender, don't you?" he asks.

"I do? But what is all this?" I ask him.

He asks me to sit on the swing that is in the middle.

"Get a seat," he says and makes me sit on the swing and he sits right beside me.

"I missed you. I really missed you my love," he says and suddenly the fire crackers blast on the sky ans they look extremely beautiful.

The fire cracker writes, ' I love you, my love ' on the sky and I get overwhelmed with joy.

I look at his face and I find that he is just looking at my face so eagerly.

"Will you...marry me?" he asks and all of my joy gets down to the bottom level.
