Chapter 9: Chapter 9

Samantha's POV

While munching some delicious pancakes, I silently watch the boys who were busy practicing the choreography for their title track.

The passion that they have for their craft is truly admirable.

My eyes every followed every movement that they make, so swiftly yet precise.

A lot of people don't know that behind those three or four minutes of performances are more than a month long preparation for their idols.

These idols have to eat less than what I do and practices more than eight hours a day but people just go and throw negative thoughts about them.

Their parents must have been so proud as their children are giving all they have to pursue their dreams and make a lot of people happy. What most people don't know is that these kids sacrifices all the time that they should be spending with their family just so they show a flawless and perfect performance. They want to give the best that they can to give back to those people that loves and supports them.

I can still remember how every time I call from overseas, I'd always ask if Jake was home. Jake's mom would never tell but I knew from her voice how much she misses him.

We knew how much my brother loves what he's doing and we don't have the heart to take away something that is precious to him. Besides, Jake would always try to go home whenever he has time.

And I know how much he treats the boys as his family.

When we were younger, we would always copy the steps of the famous songs that are out. It is one of the things that we have in common, we both love dancing but unlike him, I can't hit a single note. I can’t sing.

I watched as they all stopped to take a break. Josh and Rome went out the practice more while the others sat at the floor drinking water.

"Hey!!"

My head snapped on Jake's direction when I heard his voice.

Did he just call me?

This kid.

I can't believe this. We may not be in the best terms but he can't disrespect me nonetheless.

I gritted my teeth as I stood up. This kid needs some serious scolding.

"Yah!!!" I pointed as I walked towards him. "Don't call me that like that. I'm still older than you, you know." I told him, my face not hiding the frown. I heard him chuckle.

He put his arms on my shoulder once I reached the spot beside him.

My eyebrows furrowed.

"Haiden hyung!" He called. My eyes followed his line of eyesight.

Haiden, who is checking his phone looked at us questioningly.

"Can you play the second song?" He asked politely.

Haiden, who's as clueless as I am, just followed and played the song.

My face snapped at my brother's direction. He smiled at me and put down his arms around my shoulders then shrugged. A few seconds later, the music "Dangerous" started.

"I'm going to bet all that I have that you know how to dance this song" He told me. My face immediately lit up when I realized what he wants to do. He wants us to dance together, like how we use to.

He is already dancing when I turn to face the mirror.

I laughed as he was already doing the break dance at the beginning

When the music reached Rome's part I automatically dance along. I danced with all that I can making sure that I am in sync with his movements. I danced with him in all seriousness, like how we used to.

I would notice him looking at me in the mirror smiling, I can't help but smile as well. I am so happy right now, my heart can burst.

When the music ended, I was panting, trying to catch my breath.

I t has been months since I last dance one full song.

I faced him and he lift his right hand asking for a high-five which I did.

I don't know what actually happened but then we started laughing together. We were laughing like a maniac for a whole minute when someone cleared their throat behind us.

Right, I forgot, we were still with the boys. I was momentarily blinded by my happiness that I forgot we were still with them. I wonder what they're thinking. We must have looked weird.

I slowly turned around and saw the five boys gaping at us. I did not even notice Josh and Rome getting back. My throat went dry. I need to drink some water.

Vash put down his phone. He must have recorded us.

"Ahm, what? have you never seen a girl dance along your song?" I asked them innocently. I can't stand the silence that is casing the surroundings. Everyone seems so awkward.

No one answered. They keep on looking at me then Jake trying to process what just happened.

I looked at Josh but he just shrugged and then slowly made his way on the corner and sat down.

"I knew it." My attention was caught by Jason.

"What?" I asked him.

He gave me a look as if he's scrutinizing me. I chuckled. This boy is so adorable.

"Are you really Jake's stalker?" I giggled when Haiden hit him in the arm as if ashamed of what Jason just said.

"Are you his ex-girlfriend?" Vash questioned.

"Hmmmm...." I thought of what I should answer. I want to tell them that Jake is my actually my brother but I'm not sure he wants that. I don't know why he isn't telling the guys but I want it to come from him.

I guess he's not yet ready. I don't want to lie to the boys but I think it is not my place to tell.

"I am more than that." I told them. Well. That isn't a lie.

The boys looked more confused. I snorted. They really look adorable.

"You dance better than Josh actually." I chuckled upon hearing Yohan. I heard Josh snickering from the side.

"I noticed." I playfully responded.

"Of course not. I am a good dancer!" he exclaimed then started doing his famous traffic dance.

I laughed so hard, I felt myself went down on the floor.

Jason and Vash laughing with me.

Everyone laughed along except for Josh who stopped dancing and went to arm-locked Jason's neck. I was still laughing so hard when my eyes met Josh's.

He is smiling at me but I notice a glint of sadness in his eyes.

Or I must have imagined it.

I know from the articles and the videos how Josh is always happy and laughing. In fact, among the members, he is known to be the loudest, well, except for Jason and Vash I guess.

I notice how he is quiet these days even if he's with the members. I wonder if something's up with him. I know it's not my place. I haven't known the boys for so long but I'm worried about him. I worry for all of the boys as they are starting to get closer to me.

I gave him a warm smile. I will definitely ask him one of these days.

The music once again started and this time, "Run" played. Hell, this is my favorite.

I started doing their pose for intro step in perfection and I heard them exclaimed in amazement. Vash whistled.

Jason immediately run towards me and dance along. The guys were all clapping and howling. I'm sure I heard Haiden shrieked.

Everything went a mess when Haiden run and danced along.

He is so playful doing weird steps. Rome and Vash joined and all hell break loose.

Vash even tried to pull Yohan but the other playfully hit Vash while still laughing so hard. Even Josh and my brother eventually joined.

These guys definitely know how to party hard.
