Chapter 9: Chapter 9

"Did he hurt you?" She asked and I debated on whether to respond to her or not but then I just couldn't stay away from the asshole.

"No, he didn't" I replied with cringed brows but immediately turned them into a smile so she wouldn't be worried.

"I'll help you with the door" she offered and I watched how she miraculously fixed the door back and I wondered why I couldn't do it right.

After she fixed the door and entered the room, I made sure to lock it behind before I started to pour my mind out.

"Why is he always like that to me?" I asked and Ariel looked at me for some seconds before shrugging.

"I have no idea either," she said but underneath those eyes I could tell she was lying and didn't want to say anything because earlier on she had said something like she doesn't want to talk In order to not get herself into trouble.

"By the way, what was it about today?" She asked and I heaved a deep breath because I knew it would be a long explanation.

"It was about Asher" I replied and her brows furrowed in confusion.

"What exactly about Asher caused all of these" she said pointing to the hole on the wall that I hadn't noticed. I guess it must have been when he punched his hands hard behind me.

I could see some blood stains on the white wall and my heart suddenly fell. Was he really injured?

"Hello...?" Ariel waved her hands in front of me to bring me out of my thoughts and I snapped out of it immediately.

"You won't get mad?" I asked her as she suddenly went towards the jar of cookies on the little table beside my bed and dug her canines into it.

"I'm not promising, spill it" she said with a blank face and I sighed.

"Asher came back to me..."

"What?!" She yelled like a mad dog.

"Let me finish, will you?" I shunned her back and she settled on the bed, munching even harder and louder on the cookies.

"Asher came back to me, he apologized and said he regretted his actions. Of course I forgave him and we kissed" I said and could immediately sense the unhappy look of pity on Ariel's face.

"Don't tell me you seriously fell for those lies Nora" She groaned while massaging her temples.

"They're the truth!" I shunned her, already getting pissed off and she waved her hands in the air in a way to tell me to drop the topic.

"So why's he mad?" She asked and I knew she was referring to Alaric.

"Because I kissed Asher and he claimed he could perceive Asher's smell all over me from afar and it was disgusting",

"Ariel, can you perceive it..." I trailed on my words when I suddenly caught Ariel trying to hold back a laugh.

"What's funny?" I asked, getting pissed at her.

We were seriously having a real and intense conversation but all she could think of was to laugh at this moment.

"You know what, nevermind!" I added and stood up from where she was, I wanted to change my outfit because I wasn't really comfortable in the one I wore to class.

"Come on Nora, you'll figure it out soon, hopefully, but in the meantime just try to not do anything stupid" she said but I pretended not to hear her as I didn't respond to her but she only rolled her eyes at me without saying anymore words.

The sun went down and it was dusk already. Ariel had gone back to her room because she couldn't stay here for long and I was the only one left in the huge room.

Sometimes I wished I had a partner that would share the same room with me, at least, that way I won't be this lonely.

I couldn't think of anything else to do because I was bored so I brought out my phone to go through my social accounts since that's the only thing that could keep my head away from negative and depressing thoughts.

I wasn't really a social person because I barely had followers on any of my accounts,I was only on social media to observe the lifestyle of others.

I opened my Instagram and scrolled through my news feed finding something to cheer me up when I suddenly stumbled upon my sister's account.

I didn't want to stalk her but I just wanted to see if she was also one of those Instagram celebrities so there would be more depressing problems on my table for me to cry about.

I was about to click on her page when a message suddenly entered my phone and it was from Asher. I felt excited on seeing his message because he would never text me even though we were in a relationship.

I was the one always texting the sweet good morning and good night's messages but he never replied to one.

"Hey Lenora, let's meet at the back of the pack house, I want to talk to you" the message read and I suddenly felt happiness in me as my wolf kept on rejoicing.

I immediately slipped out of my pyjamas as I wore a sexy see through nightgown and walked outside my room with my phone in my hands.

Luckily, the lights were still on and it was very easy for me to see clearly. I shortly arrived at the back of the school building but didn't meet anyone there.

I sent dozens of text messages but got no reply as I circled around the huge building till my legs suddenly felt really weak and I couldn't walk anymore.

After what felt like hours he suddenly replied to my text and I could see the smile cornering on my lips.

"I'm right behind you" his text read and I turned to see him, ever charming and handsome standing elegantly behind me.

"Hey!" I greeted him as I waved my hands and he smiled in return as he walked closer to me.

I could clearly see his face shining bright under the moonlight that I just wanted to caress it and feel it once again.

"Sorry I kept you waiting" he apologized,

I had thought of telling him I wasn't okay with that attitude and asked him the reasons why he was late but I decided to let it slide.

"It's fine" I replied with a smile until a strong wave blew a really horrible smell towards me and I could immediately smell Tala all over him, it was really strong that it made my nose hurt.

I could feel my wolf suffocating and wanting fresh air to breathe in, but I couldn't do much other than stand and witness the horrible stench that came along with an ache in my chest.

I didn't want to jump into conclusions as I was trying to take everything step by step with him in order not to lose him.

"Anything wrong?" He asked after noticing the expression on my face but I immediately shoved it off and told him it was nothing.

"Okay, so about why I came to see you" he said and a smile appeared on my face as I pushed my body closer to him and hugged him tight but I felt his muscles tensed. He wasn't comfortable with it.

"I'm sorry, I thought otherwise" I apologized before embarrassingly pulling away from the tight hug.

I had thought we were going to have something going on between us that was why he called me here but I guess I was wrong after all.

"No no, don't say it that way, of course something is going to happen but not here, it's a nightmare here" he said and lifted my chin so I could look him in his eyes.

"That's why we need to get out of here so we could be free and do whatever we want together" he added and I felt hopeful but everything vanished once I remembered the devil's son would never release us from his prison.

"You know that isn't possible" I sighed but he placed his in index finger on my lips and made a shushing sound that made in between my legs tingle in excitement.

"Don't say that baby" he whispered into my ear and I could feel his hot breath against it that I wanted nothing more than to wrap my legs around his waist while he would devour me.

"We can definitely get out of here but that is when I would really need you, you and your efforts" he said and brushed through my lips with his finger before dropping them when he noticed the look on my face.

I was scared I might be of no help to him because I wasn't even among the top one hundred strong female wolves so how could I possibly help.

"How can I possibly help, there's nothing much I can do" I said as the tone of my voice came out low and I bowed my head in shame.

"Oh Lenora, there's a lot you can do and that's only if you'll cooperate with me" he said and I looked up to him thinking he must have been out of his mind when he said there was a lot I could do.

"What exactly can I do?" I finally asked and he straightened his back as he took two places back from me.

"You realized he has been pardoning you a lot didn't you?" He asked and I nodded my head.

"He is mostly around you and nicer to you than to anyone else" he added.

I could agree to the fact that he was somehow around me and sticking his nose into my business but I can never agree to the fact that he was nice to me, not even a little bit.

"I don't think so," I responded.

"I think so!" He answered immediately as he looked at me straight into my eyes.

"So what are you trying to say?" I asked as I sighed really loud.

"Nothing much Lenora, I just need you to tease him a little bit, put him off the edge and stress him, by doing that you would be distracting him and I will be able to carry out of all the other things" he said and I suddenly felt a huge wave of fear traveling in me.

"That's too much Asher, I'm scared of him" I honestly replied.

"You don't have to be scared of him, I promise he won't lay a finger on you and even if he tries to do that I'll show him I am still the Alpha not him" Asher said and for some reason, my whole body was suddenly calm even though I wasn't completely at rest.

"Do this for us so we could finally be free and live together, alone and away from external distractions" he added and I smiled at him as I nodded my head in approval.

"I'll do it" I said and watched how his face suddenly bloomed and it made me smile.

"Thank you Lenora" he said before leaning in for a kiss and my body immediately submitted into him but I could still perceive the smell I hated so much around him that I had to make it a quick kiss and end it on time.

"What should I do to provoke him?" I asked in an attempt to divert the topic and maybe I wouldn't get to worry about it.

"Let's see, Is your grandma still alive?" He asked and I nodded.

"How about paying her a visit tomorrow" he said and I suddenly became worried. What if he hurts my grandmother that can barely remember anything?

"You'll be fine" he said in an attempt to comfort me and leaned in for another kiss but I had dodged it and he seemed to have noticed something was up with me.

"You're worried about Alaric?" He asked and I shook my head, I wasn't a bit concerned about him.

"Then what's bothering your pretty self?" He said but I wasn't a bit flattered at this point as long as I could still perceive her smell all over him.

"Were you with Tala earlier on?" I asked and his face fell.
