Chapter 73: Chapter 73

ALARIC'S POV

I didn't expect Camila to come here or how she found out about Lenora's pregnancy but whatever she came for wouldn't be pure as I don't trust her a bit.

I had known she would say some crazy things to Lenora. I wasn't disappointed when Lenora came to me with a broken heart crying in my chest. I had no words to say to her as Camila was right.  I couldn't mark her while she was pregnant.

But I had wanted Lenora to know about this thing personally from me and not someone she definitely doesn't like. Even though I had explained things to Lenora, I knew there would still be some doubts in her mind.

"Come out now, baby boy" A text popped up on my phone. I didn't need to think too much before realising who it was.

I would have simply ignored the text but with the damage she caused to Lenora, I might as well teach her a lesson and warn her to never come close to either me or Lenoea or even this pack.

I checked to see if Lenora was asleep and she truly was, I watched how she slept unbothered like an angel even though she was still in her party dress.

I wanted to undress and change her but I didn't want to disturb her sleep so I only stood up to find Camila.

I didn't need to search for her for long, she was standing right in front of the step waiting for me.

She made sure to adjust her body in a seductive manner so as to show off her almost half naked cloth but it had no effect on me. Her body didn't entice me nor did I find her attractive. Lenora was the only one I was able to be attracted to.

"Why are you still here?" I growled at her while she rolled her eyes backwards.

"Don't talk to me that way honey bear, you should appreciate the efforts I put into having you touch me one more time." She slowly walked up to me as she caressed my face with her obnoxiously long fingers.

Her hands trailed down my chest but when I realized she was going to far and was about to grab my dick,  I had held her hands tight to the point that I wasn't bothered about her bones cracking but being the crazy girl she was, rather than screaming in pain she moaned really loud until I had to let go or her arms.

I questioned my taste as I didn't see a reason why I would even allow her to touch me, yes I've had different women touching me in the past but she was just so disgusting and I couldn't bear to watch her face.

"Get out, leave here!" I growled at her.

"Not until you please my body like you used to, don't tell me you'd sacrifice the fun we used to have because of this young pussy here?!" She shrieked.

"I'm warning you, get out!" I warned her.  She was about to say something else but by the sound of my growl, she was silent before storming away from my presence while scoffing in annoyance.

I didn't need to tell her that I would hate to see her face in this pack tomorrow, she should be wise enough to know she would die if she stays any longer here.

After the conversation with Camila, I finally returned to the room and laid beside Lenora. Knowing the fact that she was carrying my child in me made me excited as I placed my hand on her tummy and kissed her forehead.

***

I woke up yet again to my phone buzzing but at least this time it was from Josh.  Even though I didn't have much time to sleep at night, it was already morning and I couldn't sleep back.

"Yes Josh?" I responded.

"There's a problem sir" he panicked and I've never heard him panicking or talking this way since I got to know him. I instantly stood up from the bed as the sleep vanished from my eyes.

"What happened?" I inquired.

"I got a call from the mayor that something bad happened but he didn't tell me what exactly happened, he wanted us to come see it ourselves but by the tone of his voice,  I could tell that he was petrified" Josh hastily replied.

"I'll be with you shortly!" I replied and ended the call.

Without wasting much time, I immediately took a quick bath and wore something simple like a sweatpants and sweatshirt.

I swiftly place a kiss on Lenora's forehead before walking out of the room. I noticed she was about to open her eyes so I immediately rushed out. I wouldn't want her to meet me here. I know she would want to follow me but I can't take her along. This seemed to be serious and dangerous.

"There's another problem, your highness," Josh sighed as my brows furrowed. What the hell was happening?

"What is it?" I asked.

"The gatekeepers were attacked, all seven of them died, some symbols were engraved on their body" Josh said as I signalled him to lead me to where their body was.

After walking down to the basement, a foul smell hit me. I walked closer to the bodies, there was a particular symbol engraved in them.  An old wheel with the yin-yang symbol in the center. Just the same symbol that I tattooed on my body hundreds of years back while I was still a teenager.

I don't expose that side of my body where the tattoo was and the person that committed this crime definitely used to be really close to me.

"Take me to the mayor!" I instructed Josh as we both walked towards the car.

"You can't follow us Jenny, stay here and watch over the pack house. I'm counting on you" I ordered Jenny before she entered the car.

I needed someone to keep an eye on any suspicious activity while I checked out what was wrong. Especially with the fact that the person who did all of these was either in the Palace right now or had been in the Palace.

Remembering I left without saying anything to Lenora, I brought out my phone to text her so she wouldn't be worried.

"Where are you?" I texted. She could obviously be in the room but I remembered her being almost awake when I left so she could have left the room by now too.

"On my way out with Jenny to get an ice cream," she texted back immediately and I don't know why I felt a wave of relief when she replied.

"Great, I have somewhere to go to"  I texted back,  ``It'd be better if she were to go out of the palace for now. Incase the enemy was still there even though I doubt.

"Where?"

"Work"

"I'll come along, " she replied. I knew she would say something like this but I couldn't even think of letting her follow me in this current situation.  Especially when I have no idea what I might meet over there.

"No, things might get rough so I'll go alone " I replied but got no response from her after waiting for some while.  She was definitely mad at me but she needed to understand me. Hopefully she doesn't take it the wrong way.

Josh started the car while my mind kept on thinking of the possible scenery I could meet over there. What bothered me more was the symbol on their forehead. How?

We got to the mayor's office so he would take us to the scene of the atrocity but on getting there, I smelt something foul and knew things weren't okay.

"Damn it!" Josh gasped at the sight before us.  The mayor was hanging from the ceiling with blood dripping down his body. On his forehead was the same sign I saw with the guards.

On the side of his office were 6 other humans with the same sign on their forehead. 7 humans were killed, seven wolves were killed and on his table was a note.

"Don't leave your loved ones unwatched!" I read the deadly note out as it was written with the blood of the victims.

"Lenora!" I panicked as my eyes flew wide open. I shouldn't be this scared of something like this, I've faced worse but this was different. The symbols, the number 7, everything was so familiar and deadly.

I instantly brought out my phone from my pocket to dial Lenora's number, I needed to know where they were and if she was doing okay.

She picked the call on the fourth ring as I heaved a sigh of relief.

"Lenora,  where are you?" I asked while massaging my temples.

"I'm on my way back to the house," she responded.

"Great, who's with you?" I asked.

"None of your bus...." her voice was cut off. The call had ended without her finishing her sentence.

I tried to call back but it was no longer going through as I suddenly felt a sharp sting in my chest.

"Lenora!"
