Chapter 70: Chapter 70

It's been 2 weeks since Adolph left the Palace and it has also been 2 weeks since I declared my love for Alaric. Everything has been working just fine for us ever since and I sincerely hope that it'll last forever.

I do not wish to encounter any more problems, I've suffered enough since I was born and I could say I needed to feel nothing but joy henceforth.

Tala and Clara on the other hand have been suffering in the same cell for two weeks, they've been eating fine as I promised but their food has always been laced with wolfsbane.

I made sure to put a trusted person who would be in charge of that, I didn't want it to be a situation whereby they get to be pitied.

At first they were reluctant to eat their food and that went on for only three or four days as their body cried for food. They had no choice but to eat what would slowly kill them eventually.

I was also out of my heating stage and Alaric was finally ready to mark me. His father had suggested marking me in their headquarters but Alaric had refused and insisted on marking me in this pack. Adolph had no choice but to agree but due to his ego and anger, he vowed not to show up for the ceremony which would take place in the next two days.

"Darling" Alaric sneaked up behind me as he pressed my butt against his dick which was already hard again.

He's never tired of me and is always getting hard around me, I wouldn't say I was any different from him.

"Why are you so happy?" I teased while he placed kisses on my neck. At this point we didn't care if we were in the presence of a lot of workers who were decorating the Palace for the big ceremony tomorrow.

"I'm always happy around you, your existence alone makes my whole world" he responded and I found myself blushing.

Turning to face him, I stood on my toe to match his height as I placed a swift yet soft kiss on his lips but when I was about to pull away from the kiss. He had grabbed me even tighter, making it hard for me to leave until I had to yank some strands of his hair.

"Fuck, Lenora! " he winced in pain while I smiled.

"Good for you " I chuckled.

"You're literally ripping me of my rights to be with you. It's not my fault that you're so intoxicating and I can't bear to be away from you" he pouted while my laughter only got louder.

Compared to the time I first saw him, he had really changed and I'm wondering why I would even call him a beast for a second. He's literally the sweetest creature to ever exist. All he needed was true love and companionship.

"Watch where you're going, else I'd feed your eyeballs to the rats in your home " Alaric threatened a worker who had mistakenly bumped into me as the worker scurried away in fear. Perhaps I had spoken too soon about him being the sweetest creature.

With a mischievous grin on his face, he tried to make up for his irrational action but I wasn't even mad at him anymore. I can't be mad at him.

He tried his best to be sweet around me and it will take time to warm up to commoners and I wouldn't rush him. Even if he doesn't want to warm up to them, it's totally fine. He will be the future king and still needs to be feared.

"Are you mad at me?" He asked with his brows furrowed in concern.

"Not at all" I responded

"Sure?"

"Yeah " I answered while rolling my eyes but then I suddenly felt dizzy as my head throbbed. He seemed to have noticed something was up with me.

"Are you okay?" He asked while touching my head to check my temperature.

"I'm absolutely fine," I replied with a smile. It could be a little migraine and I wouldn't want him to worry himself because of something that little.

"Okay dear, perhaps you should rest. I'll take care of the rest" he offered but I was still able to handle these things. It could just be a mere headache and I'll be fine afterwards. I need to make this ceremony perfect. Tonight there would be a pre party ball before the actual party in the next two days since the full moon would only be out by then.

"I said I'm fine, Alaric!" I protested

"Just leave it, I'm here, I'll take care of it" He insisted and he was getting on my nerves. I wasn't even feeling any pain or discomfort anymore.

"Stop being so overprotective!" I scolded but my vision suddenly became blurry, everything was in twos and the throbbing of my head returned as I suddenly slumped and everything went blank.

My eyes fluttered open at the voice of a woman and a man arguing. It took a while before I recognised the voice and realised they belonged to Diane and Alaric. She seemed to be scolding Alaric over an issue.

"Can you just tell me what in the world happened to her and stop lecturing me on how to treat my wife!" Alaric yelled in frustration.

"I am just telling you to be more careful around her...hey you're awake!" She squeaked when she saw me staring at her. Her voice was quick to change from the deadly threatening voice she was giving to Alaric and the daisy voice she used to greet me.

"You're here already, welcome " I bowed to her in acknowledgement of her presence.

"Don't stress yourself with those formal stuff, I was already within the premises when I heard you slumped " she replied. I tried to remember what had happened before I fell to the ground but I couldn't remember so I eventually gave up.

"Will you tell me what happened to her now? Please?" Alaric begged as a satisfied grin appeared on Diane's face. Their relationship seemed to have grown within the last couple of days and I couldn't be more happier.

"Well don't be so desperate. I wanted her to be awake " Diane pouted and turned to look at me with a smile on her face.

"How do you feel now?" She asked.

"Better than before, thank you" I replied with a smile while Alaric on the other hand had a frown on his face. He wasn't interested in whatever we were talking about as he was eager to know what had happened to me.

He must have probably been thinking it was another enemy game, to be honest I was starting to think like that but at the same time I tried my best to shove the thought away. No good comes from being paranoid.

"Can you just spill it already " Alaric scoffed and I tried to contain my laughter. The look on his face was hilarious.

"Yeah sure, I just want to let both of you know that I'm about to be a grandmother!" Diane squeaked in excitement as my face became frozen along with my emotions.

I turned to look at Alaric and he had the same expression on his face before his expression slowly changed to Joy as I could swear I saw tears building up in his eyes.

"Fuck it!" Alaric sobbed in Joy as he approached me and pulled me closer to him in a hug.

"Fuck!" He yelled even louder this time as he buried his head in my shoulders.

"Be careful with that hug, she's really a fragile figure now " Diane chuckled but her voice cracked mid sentence as she wiped the tears off her face.

I only stood frozen as different emotions were running through my mind and I didn't know how to react to this. I wasn't ready to be a mother just yet, I was inexperienced and young.

I was happy but then there was just this part of me that thought I would fuck things up. Perhaps it was the mummy issues I had.

"I should let you both be for now, just know I'm your mother and I promise to be with you all through this journey and more to come." Diane said and placed a kiss on my forehead before walking out of the room.

Alaric's eyes didn't seem to leave my stomach as he stared at them with astonishment.

"So small and flat yet a living being is in there" he chuckled like a child and I couldn't help but laugh too. I didn't need to be scared, I have the best partner and I'm sure I'll do just fine with our baby.

"You think you can go out?" He asked as his eyes lit up.

"Yeah?" I answered but in a question-like manner as I wanted to know the reason for the question.

"I want to show you something, come with me!" He said and lifted me off the bed in a bridal style like I was a kid.

"Fuck I can fucking walk Alaric " I protested.

"I'm not taking any chances, the floor could be slippery" he answered but what made it funny was the fact that he was actually serious with that statement.

I felt so embarrassed as he carried me past the workers and servants as they all stared at me. Josh sighted us from afar and Alaric had given him a signal to start the car.

Jenny was also beside Josh, I was sure she was supposed to follow him but she seemed to be bittered at the sight of Alaric carrying me as she got lost in her thoughts. Josh had to tap her to remind her of what they were supposed to do before she followed him out of the room.

I guessed where we must be heading to must be far because we had to take the car. Josh insisted on driving but Alaric wanted just us in the car so he and Jenny had to take a second car.

"Where are we going?" I asked with curious eyes.

"Somewhere I have been nurturing for a long time now" he answered and gave me a wink before increasing the speed of the car while I took in the amazing view on the way.

The road, the streams, him. They were all the perfect view for me. Alaric had placed a hand on my thighs and It made me feel good for some reason.

After some hours, we finally drove into a beautiful place in the Countryside. I have never been here and it was absolutely gorgeous.

The ground looked like it was tiled with flowers all over the acres of land but they were actually real flowers of different colours.

I felt like a fairytale princess as I came down from the car to gawk at the beauty of the place.

"How did you find this place?" I asked with a giggled as I ran my hands through the flowers.

"I made this place for a special moment like this" he said and on turning back to look at him, I met him on one knee as he flashed his teeth at me with a genuine smile.

I couldn't stop smiling as this was literally the sweetest thing I have ever encountered.

"I decided to be a gentleman and do things the human style" he nervously giggled but it made it all perfect.

"Lenora, for hundreds of years, I have been nothing but miserable. Filled with hatred and pride, I thought that was the way the world worked and perhaps that was how I would get to live the rest of my life but everything changed the moment I laid my eyes on you."

"I felt something strange, something I have never felt in my life. At that moment I knew you were the one, my other part, my life and my soul."

"I know I was a jerk at first but I was trying my best to understand the feeling called love, the feeling whereby I think of you more than I breathe. The feeling where seeing you hurting shattered me"
