Chapter 53: Chapter 53

The loud bell rang signifying that it was time for every wolf to pack their shits out of the school compound. I carried my backpack as I walked out of the library which I ended up falling asleep In.

I went out of the school compound in hopes of seeing Alaric's car already waiting for me but minutes went by and I saw nothing.

I had already made up my mind to leave if he didn't pick me up in an hour. I sat beside a flower that had a little shade to protect my skin from the sun with my arms crossed waiting for him to show up until I heard a voice calling my name from the school's entrance.

"Little one" The Janitor yelled on top of his voice as he walked up to me with my phone In his hands as I looked at him dumbstruck.

"How did you know it was mine?" I asked but rather than responding he turned on the phone and I slapped my head at how foolish I was. My picture was obviously being used as my lock screen.

"And I recognised you immediately because you requested my phone earlier on. Every kid in this school has an expensive phone so I guessed something must have happened to yours within school hours " He said with a small laugh as I returned the smile.

"I'm so grateful sir" I appreciated as I bowed to him but he bowed in return and walked away.

The phone was broken badly but it could still be touched a little. I was thankful for that as I wouldn't need to lose all of my old files on my phone when getting a new one.

After waiting for an hour without Alaric anywhere nearby, I decided to walk and maybe I would take a cab with the little money I have on me after getting halfway through the walk so I started my journey.

"Miss Lenora!" I heard Josh's voice almost immediately as I started to walk as he drove closer to where I was.

"The Prince had requested for me to pick you up from school today and I'm sorry for being late. '' He announced and I wasn't bothered about him coming late but the fact that Alaric couldn't pick me up from school even after promising a burger on our way home. Could the rumors about someone coming to school be true?

"It's nothing" I replied to Josh as I entered the backseat of the car and shortly after, he started the car.

My mind wasn't settled as I was still thinking about what could be going on at this moment and the reason why it seems like I'm the only one left out if everything as I know nothing.

When the burden in my chest grew above my limits, I decided to talk to Josh about it afterwards, he's the closest to Alaric and would definitely know what is up since he's the first to know all.

"Josh?" I called his name as he looked at me through the rear mirror.

"Yes, miss?"

"Why could Alaric not make it today?" I asked as he shifted his gaze back to the road.

"He had some urgent work to attend to" he bluntly replied but his response wasn't helping me a bit, it was only making things worse for me as I was curious to know the main reason for him not coming and perhaps it'll relate to what has been going on in the school since morning.

"What work?" I asked as Josh looked at my face again but this time he immediately shifted it back to the road.

"Urgent work " He replied but with the tone he used, it was obvious to know he didn't want me to ask anymore questions about Alaric's whereabouts so I decided to just hit the nail on the head rather than beating around the bush.

"Okay let's forget about that, Is anyone visiting the pack house today or tomorrow?" I asked and noticed how his face seemed like they were getting tired of me and my questions.

"I'm sorry but I don't have much information to provide to you, you might want to ask the Prince if you want more useful information" he replied while I scoffed.

There was no way to make him say anything that was going on, funny of me to think he was already warming up to me whereas he still won't talk to me about things that are important like this? Or was I just overthinking and maybe it's actually nothing.

We arrived at the pack house as I impatiently opened the car door and rushed into the house to search for Alaric but he didn't seem to be around as the house seemed different. It was more shiner and laced with even more golds and diamonds than the usual.

My suspicions were cleared as I realised someone of a great status might be visiting but I really do hope it's not Adolph, the most cruel being that has ever stepped on earth.

I decided to ease my tense mind as I walked into my room to change into a more comfortable cloth before heading towards the kitchen for some snacks.

I was not surprised to see Jenny standing in the middle of the kitchen as she was always in this room most of her time. She seemed to be really happy as her cheeks flushed in excitement and I could spot the obvious glow.

When her eyes met mine, her smile was even broader but she said nothing. I was going to ask her why she was so happy but then I realised it might only make me a freak as everyone really deserves to be happy most times of their lives no matter who they are. But then again, it seemed like she was up to no good.

"Hey" I greeted as I took out some cookies from the fridge and heated them in the microwave before walking out. I could hear her muttering some words under her breath but I couldn't lay a finger at the exact words she was saying so I gave up and walked back to my room in hopes of getting to see Alaric staying on my bed but I was more disappointed when I met my room the way I left it.

ALARIC'S POV

I couldn't help but gawk at how beautiful she was all through the ride that I didn't care if we got the car in an accident because there was no way I would be injured and I definitely won't let the same for her.

"I don't think I want to die now " She finally said something after a long while of silence between us and listening to her voice alone boosted every fibre in me as I giggled.

"You're just so beautiful to resist, I'm sorry "I honestly responded and drove more safely as she flushed. During the past few days I have realized she loves to be complimented and hell I would do it for her in her sleep because she's just so flawlessly beautiful always.

We got to her school and I tried to be a true gentleman as I tried to help her untuck her seatbelt but the moment I got close to her body, my whole body went weak and this time it wasn't like the others I felt but rather this one made me need her more than I ever have.

My face was really close to her and her lips were tempting to kiss but I had shoved that thought from my head as I placed a kiss on her smooth forehead.

I could feel her squirm under my touch and it made me excited to know she's wanting me just like I want her. It only takes a few more days before her body accepts me and she goes into heat which I sincerely can't wait for.

"Alaric I..." her hoarse voice escaped her mouth after some pretty intense moments with us.

"I should let you go to class, I'll personally pick you up after school " I immediately announced as she slowly nodded her head in response while I immediately untucked her seatbelt and she walked out of the car.

I can't wait to pick her up from school soon, some minutes away from her feels like torture and hours away from her is unbearable and one of the reasons I love to spend more time in her room whenever she was away. Her smell soothes me like a mother's love to a baby.

"Hamburger this afternoon sure sounds nice " I said but doubted if she would have heard me. I remembered the last time we both ate burgers and how much I enjoyed watching her take bites off the delicious meal.

As I drove away from the school, a call came into my phone as the called ID was rather strange and wasn't from America here.

I would have ignored the call if it wasn't coming from London, our headquarters, where I grew up and where my father lives.

Without another thought, I swiped through the screen and picked the call.

"This is from the headquarters, London. This message is to inform you that his Highness, King Adolph, would be visiting your pack today. You are required to pick him up from London" The Royal servant announced with his deep and thick British accent before hanging up.

Different thoughts ran through my mind as I was thinking of the reason why Adolph would want to come to this pack. He never came for peace and never will so what could be his motive this time.

I didn't think I had done anything wrong to deserve a punishment from him except if he had managed to find out about what had happened with the Red moon pack but still that wasn't enough for him to travel across continents. The most he could do was to order me to go to London.

It made me even more bothered as I couldn't place a finger on his exact reason for visiting me out of the blue.

While being lost in my thoughts and driving at a really high speed I was finally able to reach the pack house.

I didn't bother about packing the car well as I left it the way it was and rushed into the house calling Josh's name at the top of my lungs and he was quick to immediately respond with Jenny following behind.

Something suspicious seemed to be going on between those two but I brushed it off. I would be thinking about that once I find a way to deal with Adolph visiting.

"Adolph is coming today, I have no reason why but I want you to keep an eye all around especially with Lenora. Shouldn't a scratch be found in her body, understood?" I demanded as they both nodded in unison.

I had no idea why Jenny had to follow Josh here because she was practically useless to me except for the food she cooks. Those are divine.

"I'll need to pick Adolph from London while you watch over the pack house and notify me of any suspicious activities that might occur while I'm gone. Also once it's 3pm you should pick Lenora from school and no one should mention anything to her until I'm back" I ordered and Josh slightly nodded while Jenny repeatedly nodded her head and I feared for it falling off.

Without any more words, I rushed to my Jet and waited for the pilot to arrive and the moment he came he started the flight and for the first time in a while my heart beat faster than I have ever experienced.

I'm just so confused about why Adolph was going to visit but I do hope it's not because of Lenora.
