Chapter 46: Chapter 46

LENORA'S POV

I stood frozen for some moment as I stared at her face while hating her even more for being my sister.

One could think that sisters are meant to be closest to each other but our relationship was clearly the opposite of what anyone would think and there was nothing I could do to help it as I also hated her equally.  The difference is that she causes me a lot of problems while I just stay there and do nothing, being the weak girl I used to be but not anymore.

I was going to walk away from where I was since she hadn't noticed me yet but it was already too late. Her eyes caught mine and her face turned sour from the hatred that was probably flowing through her veins.

"You bastard!" She cursed as she pointed her finger at me. I was trying to stop myself from not breaking the bones in those fingers and I was putting a lot of work into my patience as I was slowly losing it.

I decided to ignore her and just walk past her, but as I was about to leave her side she had pulled me back by my hair causing me to flinch hard.

The pull was so strong that I ended up on the floor with my head hitting the hard tiles really bad. I winced from the pain it caused as I remained on the ground.

"You think you could go around sleeping with the prince and telling him to lock my mate in the dungeon?"

"Do you even consider the fact that we used to be sisters, why the hell would you even do that to me?" She spat as she went further to step on my stomach badly as I screamed in pain.

Was she really saying these things from her mouth, she was blaming me for Asher's predicaments? Even though she and Asher had planned to harm me in every way possible.

"Stand up and face me you stupid fool!" She yelled again as she dragged me by my arm until I was finally on my two feet and facing the only person I have ever wished death on.

"Answer me now bastard! You slept with the prince so he would lock Asher up right? You better admit you did it because you're a shameless whore" she yelled into my ear again.

"Well you should be glad you're still standing on your two feet you ungrateful bitch. The same thing that happened to Asher will happen to you soon if you don't shut the fuck up right now!" I yelled back at her and she didn't seem to expect it with the shocked expression on her face before they slowly turned bitter and before I could process anything, I felt a hard sting on my cheek.

It took me a while to process the fact that she had just slapped me on my cheek. I tried to retaliate by hitting her back but she was too fast to dodge my blows and too strong to hit me back harder until my nose started bleeding out blood.

"I'm just getting started with you and if you don't shut that mouth of yours then I'll beat you to pulp. " she threatened with a smirk on her face while I stood frozen and embarrassed.

I had thought I came back to the pack house stronger than ever but here I am, not even able to successfully throw a punch at her and now I have rewarded myself with a bloody nose and throbbing head.

I decided to sulk up my feelings and just leave her side once and for all as I walked as fast as I ever have to my room.

"One more thing you whore, the Prince will be mine soon" she yelled at the top of her lungs so I would be able to hear but I wish I hadn't heard that as I only became disgusted and angrier.

I wanted to go back to her and attack her but then I knew she was stronger and I would end up badly if I went back to her so I ran as fast as I could to my room.

On getting there, I entered the room and locked the door behind as I crashed on the floor pouring my eyes out.

Sometimes, with all that has been happening to me since I was young I just wish I hadn't been born.

I thought everything would end once I grew up but I was clearly wrong. It's all becoming worse and it's making me think I will never have a happy ending.

She even threatened to take Alaric away from me but then I know that plan won't be successful because the prince also hates her.

After crying my eyes out on the floor,I heard a knock on the door and immediately wiped my tears away and washed off the bloody nose in order to look at least sane.

I had picked up the smell and it was Ariel's scent. Perhaps she was here to say goodbye.

After cleaning myself up I opened the door for her to come in but on sighting me the smile on her face dropped as it was immediately replaced with concern.

"What happened to you? You were all cheerful earlier on" she asked but I had to fake a smile to her so she wouldn't bother much about me.

"It's nothing" I replied with a smile as I placed my hands on her shoulders to reassure her but she didn't seem to be buying it.

"Don't tell me it's nothing Lenora, your face is swollen and you definitely don't look good. Your clothes are dirty and torn, they're scratches on your skin. What happened to you Lenora" she asked and sounded like what a mum would say but unfortunately I never felt that from my mum.

"Nothing is wrong so stop worrying now Ariel. I'm fine and you're just too caring" I said in a funny tone as I dragged her by her hand to the bed.

She still had the worried expression on her face until her eyes slowly fell on something on the bed and her face lit up.

"This dress is so hot, Nora!" She squeaked while I became confused until my eyes also fell on the object and I suddenly remembered Alaric's text.

"Oh shit! What's the time?" I panicked as I searched the room for my phone. It was just 7:15 so I barely had up to 50 minutes to dress up for tonight.

"What's wrong?" Ariel asked with a puzzled face.

"Alaric had sent this to me for tonight's date which is by 8pm but I'm so late already and I haven't fixed anything " I panicked as Ariel tried to calm me by telling me to take in deep breaths, even though she was trying hard to hold back her laughter.

"Why are you still standing, get your ass into the shower!" She yelled as I immediately rushed into the bathroom and heated the water but was too impatient to wait so I ended up bathing with a slightly cold water.

I didn't waste any more time in the bathroom as I rushed out to get dressed and luckily, Ariel had volunteered to help me out with my hair and make up.

I felt relaxed because she was not only a professional but was also fast with these things.

"What would I do without you Ariel?" I cooed as I stared at my face in the mirror.

"Absolutely nothing" she replied with a scoff like it was an obvious answer.

While she was still fixing me, my mind drifted to a question I wanted to ask her back In the ball room before she left with her mate.

"Ariel?" I called out her name.

"Yeah, what?" She replied like I was a disturbing pest and I scoffed.

"Where will you stay after leaving the pack house?" I asked as I looked at her face for any foreign emotion.

"I'll stay with my mate, we'll be renting an apartment together and I'll have to support myself with some minor jobs till I'm finally through with school and qualified enough for a stable job." She replied so smoothly and I realized they must have planned it for a long time. I wish I had her life.

"That's great,  do text me your address immediately" I requested as she nodded her head in response.

"Done!" She said after a short while as I looked into the mirror and was truly stunned at the image before me. I looked like a fucking princess in this make up.

I stood up from the chair to check out my dress in the mirror and I must say today is part of those rare days where I admire myself. The outfit was a spicy wine straight gown with a satin material.

It looked perfect on every curve that I wish I could wear it everyday so as to admire my body.

"You look hot, I bet he would drool immediately he sights you" Ariel teased while I slapped her hands in return.

I took my phone from the dressing table and was stunned to find out it was already 8pm.

"Fuck it's 8, I'm late!" I panicked as I wore my black heels and carried the small bag that came along with the dress while I rushed out of the room in hopes of not coming across Tala or any other wolf.

I don't think I want to hear another insult about me sleeping with Alaric to get things but I don't think that would stop anytime soon until I'm finally free from him or mated to him. Any of those two options.

I greeted Ariel goodbye before storming down the hallway to his room. Luckily I met no one while walking, well the wolves I met seemed to be minding their business.

My phone started to buzz and there were messages from Alaric asking about my whereabouts until the last one read that he was waiting by his car.

I immediately rushed downstairs but at the same time tried my best to not sweat so my make-up wouldn't be ruined.

I got to where his car was parked and saw both him and Josh standing outside the car but there was an obvious space between them as they exchanged no word to each other.

"Hey" I greeted.

"You're late" he responded without returning my greetings and on checking the time, it was just 8:10pm.

"I'm just 10 minutes late" I said in order to justify myself.

"We could have been halfway through the journey now" he replied while still facing the other side. He hadn't even looked at my face since I showed up.

"Let's go Josh " he commanded as Josh got into the driver's seat and ready to drive before he finally turned to face me but on seeing me, he immediately froze as his eyes scanned my body from head to toes,  making me a bit nervous.

He didn't stop gawking at my body as I started to see the obvious lust In his eyes and for some reason I was turned on.

"I think we should get going. '' I coughed before he came back to earth and nodded in approval. He went ahead to open the car door for me and entered the car through the other door but said nothing to me.

The moment the car started moving, he cleared his throat a couple of times.

"You're beautiful " he complimented and cleared his throat afterwards while looking straight.

"Thank you" I responded, but he still didn't look at me. The ride turned out to be a little bit longer than I had expected and also filled with an awkward silence but I had caught Alaric taking glances at me and would immediately look elsewhere if he noticed I stared back.

I just want to get to the venue and step out of this car already as I was also feeling something I can't explain.
