Chapter 23: Chapter 23

"And you think he would fulfill his part of the promise to you?" He asked, feeling irritated.

"I guess so, he left you alone immediately so I guess he would never lay a finger on you" I said and bit my lips when I realized I sounded like I was defending Alaric.

"Of course!" He scoffed before angrily storming out of the room and I sighed. I hated this type of relationship between us and I just want things to be right, I wish things were to be right.

I was sincerely tired of the constant back and forth that always happened between us, there was never a day with a fight and what bothers me most was knowing full well that he had headed towards Tala's room.

I tried to pretend it didn't bother me as I continued to eat my pancakes but it wasn't helping and I was still very much bothered about the fact that he was with Tala.

Without thinking twice, I stormed out of my room and headed for Tala's room since it was closer to mine.

On reaching there, I flung the door open but she wasn't there and I sighted her annoying minion before scoffing and walking away. I could hear her yelling at me and throwing some hurtful words but I didn't have time for her yet.

I climbed the staircase as I approached Asher's room. I could smell his presence there but it was mixed with another annoying stench. The smell of Tala had polluted the air making every veins in me throb in anger.

I reached for the door knob and yanked it open to meet Tala seated on Asher's laps as she continued to grind him while biting his lips off with his hands on her ass.

I was damn sure they noticed my presence but continued anyway. My wolf was telling me to just quit and return to my room but the adrenaline flowing in my veins wouldn't just let me give up.

"Bitch!" I yelled as I reached for Tala and yanked her hair really hard as I pulled her off of Asher who was now staring at me with wild eyes like I had just grown an extra head.

"Just leave my mate alone and go find someone else you whore!" I yelled at her not even considering the fact that she was still my older sister but right now I just hated her so bad and wished she would just die in my hands.

"Fucking bastard!" She roared and before I could process anything, I was now on the floor with her fist connecting to my face multiple times. Everything soon started to get blurred up as I lost my energy.

I looked at Asher through the corner of my bruised eyes but he wasn't even making any attempt to help me until I finally heard different voices around. It was then I realised different people had started to surround us.

I tried to take back control but my fist wouldn't cooperate with me as I was suddenly super weak.

"Get the fuck off her!" I heard Ariel's voice roaring in anger as I suddenly felt Tala's weight on me gone. Ariel had swung her to the wall and away from me as she started pounding her fists in Tala's face.

"Enough!" Asher finally spoke up as he stood up from his bed. I was kind of excited he would come for me but instead he walked up to Tala whose face was still getting pounded by Ariel's fists.

"Let go of her!" He ordered as he pushed Ariel from Tala's body but ended up getting punched by her. He only glared at her but didn't do anything back.

"Enough of the three of you, enough!" He sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

"She attacked me first!" Tala whimpered as she forced some crocodile tears down her eyes, making the whole crowd pity her while cursing me and calling me all sorts of names. This has to end now!

With every might in me, I stood up from the ground and leaped towards Asher who was beside Tala with my eyes throwing daggers at her.

"This has to end right now Asher, you have to mark me right now!" I yelled with my shaky voice, I wasn't balanced yet and my head was still hurting badly.

"The fuck are you doing Lenora, let's get out of here!" Ariel yelled and I could tell she was really pissed off because of the accent she used. Whenever she was really mad and wanted to say anything she prefers to use a very old British accent even though she doesn't notice.

"Please Ariel, just this once!" I pleaded with her but I didn't think she wanted a plea as she stormed away from me and shoved everyone that came her way. She had even smashed someone's phone, he happened to be recording but he wasn't the only one recording.

"Asher, mark me now and make me yours, show them I'm not the whore and that bitch over there is!" I cried out with a shaky voice.

"Lenora, we talked about this already, didn't we?" He sighed but I didn't let him finish as I cut him off.

"But then I can't tolerate all of these insults anymore Asher, Mark me now, I'm tired of waiting" I yelled as I sniffed the catarrh off my nose.

"You're just being obnoxious right now Lenora, we talked about this already and why do you have to bring it back up. If you're trying to make a fucking point then just know its not working and you're doing great at humiliating yourself"

"Fucking go back to your room!" He yelled and I felt my cheeks burning with the amount of salty tears running through them like a tap.

I could hear some noises as students were scurrying away in fear but my body paid no attention to it until I felt a strong hand pulling me away from Asher's room.

It made me flinch but I came back to my senses when I realized it was Alaric. I felt a little bit relieved but it soon turned to fear when I realizedI was In a deep trouble. How the hell did he find out I was here? Not only was I heart-broken but now I was scared.

He stopped on his tracks when we got to the door and turned to look at Asher, "your days are numbered, bastard!" He threatened before finally pulling me away from the room.

"Why the hell do you have to go there to bruise and humiliate yourself Lenora!" He scolded me immediately when we entered his room and he locked the door shut behind me.

"How did you find me?" I asked in confusion even though I later realised this wouldn't have been the best time to ask that question.

"Answer me Lenora, I'm talking to you and I demand answers not some silly questions else you'll be punished!" He growled and I could have sworn I heard his voice vibrating in me as I suddenly became really scared.

His eyes changed from emerald to a very bright golden colour that added to the aura in the room and it was even more intimidating as I bared my neck in submission for some reasons I have no idea of.

"Now answer me, why the hell would you humiliate yourself that bad?" He roared and I found myself crying again. The thoughts of how Asher had humiliated me in public caused shivers in my spine that I broke down without realising.

"I thought he loved me, he said he loved me" I cried as I suddenly felt a soft hand caressing my cheeks. I raised my head to see Alaric staring at me with his now emerald eyes that were so soft that I didn't think anyone but my grandma had looked at me with those types of eyes.

"You should have known earlier he doesn't love you Lenora, he's only using you to get to me and I promise you that the day you'll finally realise everything I wouldn't think twice before beheading that bastard for causing so much pain to you" he cooed into my ear and brought my body closer to him with his hands softly on my head as he brought it to his rigid chest.

I didn't know what to think of the words he had just said to me because they were definitely threatening but a part of me liked the way he cooed those words into my ear and the way his thumb carefully caresses my back almost making me drift out of my thoughts.

We remained like that for some while, that I finally forgot about most of the things that happened today but not how Asher chose Tala over me. At least I was able to forget about the other irrelevant stuff while I was still wrapped in his arms. His smell was so soothing and comfortable that I didn't want to break away until he finally pulled away.

"You didn't take a shower then, did you?" He asked as he pulled me away from him and I shocked my head.

"Ugh, you stink even more Lenora. You're using my bathroom so help yourself in the shower" he said and I almost protested but at the moment I really didn't have the strength for a fight so I obeyed as i walked into his bathroom.

I had no clothes in his room but a part of me was telling me that he would definitely fix something for me to wear and just as I had assumed I met some new clothes on his bed on coming out of his bathroom with his towel wrapped around my body.

They were pretty short and would definitely reveal my butt If I had to bend down. My eyes slowly drifted to him as his eyes scanned my exposed legs.

He was seated on the sofa in his room with his laptop on his lap but he seemed to be distracted with something else that wasn't his laptop.

It was me! He was gawking at my body with his eyes clearly filled with lust and fuck it those eyes instantly turned me on but I had to look away.

"You should put on your clothes now" he said after clearing his throat.

I grabbed the clothes and headed back into the bathroom to change into them when a thought flashed through my mind. It was Ariel, I must have definitely put her in trouble because fighting in the school was prohibited with serious consequences.

I immediately wore the clothes and headed out to ask Alaric about what he would do to Ariel but on coming out he wasn't on his laptop anymore but was now dressed In a really fine suit that made him look super hot.

It seemed like he was preparing to leave for somewhere as he was constantly checking the mirror and adjusting his suit.

"Prince Alaric" I called his name and it felt weird coming from my mouth.

"Yes?" He cocked a brow at me In surprise.

"What will you do to Ariel?" I asked as he looked at me in confusion.

"She's none of my business dear, the school mistress will take care of that" he said but I didn't feel a bit relieved.

"Please pardon her, she was only trying to help me!" I pleaded.

"Why should I do that?" He inquired as he knotted his tie and I watched how messed up it was, he clearly didn't know how to knot a tie.

"Let me help?" I asked and reached closer for him as I knotted the tie perfectly for him. I had naturally learned the skill.

"Looks good " he complemented with an adoring smile on his face that made me uncomfortable and I immediately took some steps backwards.

"About Ariel" I immediately said before we would drift away from the topic.

"Can you please spare her like you are sparing me?" I asked and watched the way a smug smile appeared on his face before he leaned closer to me and whispered into my ear.

"Just because you're here doesn't mean you also won't be punished" he pulled away with a smirk on his face leaving me dumbfounded.
