Chapter 20: Chapter 20
LENORA'S POV
The noises, they were getting too loud as they kept on bothering my ear. I tried to open my eyes but it was like my whole body was too weak for that but the noises were getting awkwardly too loud that I used every last fibre in me to open my eyes.
The image in front of me wasn't any satisfying as my weak eyes immediately widened in awe as I spotted Asher being constantly pounded by a beast. I couldn't see the beast's face as his back was turned to me and unrecognizable but I could tell it wasn't just a wolf but a lycan due to the way he shifted
"Alaric!" I gasped when I saw a hint of his glowing golden eyes and my body immediately shook. He had found us! I was partially expecting him to find us but not so soon, and I was sure he wouldn't waste anymore time but to kill us all.
I knew I had constantly disobeyed his rules and he pardoned me but today I didn't think he would, since I ran away with the one person HD hated the most. I tried to cower away in fear but I couldn't leave Asher like that in pain as it also made me feel pains in my body.
I wanted to stand up to meet him but my hands and legs wouldn't move. I don't know why it was like this because I have never felt this way before.
"Please!" I begged as I crawled nearer to where they were but I doubt he had heard me as my voice was really low. I didn't give up on saving Asher as the sight of him bleeding under the moonlight made me shed tears.
"Please!" I begged again but I was somewhat too far from them and he couldn't hear me with my low voice. I looked down at myself and realised I was just in my underwear even though I can't remember pulling it off but the question of who pulled it off wasn't my concern as I wanted to save Asher.
I could be okay for Asher to see me this way but definitely not Alaric, so I stretched to where my dress was and wrapped it around me.
I finally managed to crawl to where he was as I stretched my hands to hold his legs.
"Please stop!" I yelled with all of my last energy and he seemed to have heard me as his hands froze in the air while I heaved a sigh of relief but my tension immediately built up in seconds when his eyes fell on me and it was like they were killing me without him touching me.
"Shit!" I muttered to myself as his golden eyes threw daggers at me and I tried to use every bit of energy in me to run away from him but I couldn't stand myself up as I found myself slowly crawling backwards. I wanted nothing more than to be far away from this ferocious beast in front of me.
Asher and I had both gone against his rules and Asher was now serving his own punishment that I feared it would be my turn if I didn't leave here on time but me crawling away wasn't helping a bit as he stood up from Asher to meet me.
The more he took those steps, the more my heart raced faster than ever and I wished the ground would just open up to swallow me away from my misery. I knew I would die if that happened but right now I don't mind as long as I don't end up dying in his hands.
"You're coming with me!" He growled as he held my hands tightly from the floor and I whimpered in pain as he kept on dragging me along with him.
My eyes spotted Asher lying drained on the floor and if I don't help him out then he might eventually pass out on the floor right there with no one to care after him and heaven knows what type of creatures are in this forest, he really isn't safe to lay there in his pool of blood.
I tried to release my hands from Alaric's string grip but he wasn't going to let me as he continued to drag me.
"Please let me go!" I pleaded as my eyes were still on the bleeding Asher.
"Why should I let you go Lenora, you disobeyed my rules and betrayed me despite the amount of times you promised to never disobey me!" He roared and my body shook as tears started to roll freely down my eyes.
"I'm sorry but right now please let me go!" I begged as I continued to cry.
"You seriously have no idea of how dangerous that is or you chose to be ignorant?" He asked but my body still couldn't process the question. All I wanted was to wrap my arms around Asher's body and try everything in my power to heal him.
"You disobeyed me Lenora, right now you have no right to talk but to obey me!" He coldly said as his jaws clenched.
"I promise I will never disobey you my prince, but right now, pardon me to disobey you and help him, he's my mate Lord and I don't think I would live without him" I begged and the expression on his face fell from being ruthless to being warm as his eyes changed into it's normal emerald colour but there weren't just as they used to be as I could see evident sadness in them.
"You're promising to do whatever I tell you to do if I let you meet him?" He asked in a much calmer tone as his body suddenly started to shift into the body I recognized and his face was no longer in a beast form but it's usual form.
"Yes, I promise" I said without thinking it through but what could possibly be there to think through, I was going to risk my life to save my mate's life because either way if Asher died then I would slowly lose myself and die too.
"You'll do anything I tell you to do henceforth?" He asked and I nodded my head in approval as I sniffed the goo off my nose.
"I need to hear you say it, Lenora!" He requested with his gruff voice.
"Yes, I'll do whatever you want me to do henceforth" I said but started to doubt my words, there was no way I could trust him to abide by every of his single rules yet I did it because of the feelings I have for Asher.
"Okay!", He sighed as he brought his head down to look at his feet.
"I hope you realize he isn't what he seems to be sooner before you make any more mistakes, you should beware of him because he's a bad person disguising himself to your face" he said and heaved a heavy breath before releasing his grip on my hands and I immediately ran to where Asher was laid in his pool of blood, still unconscious and I wondered if Alaric had given him that last blow then he might have just died.
There was absolutely nothing to be cautious about when it comes to Asher because he was just a normal wolf while Alaric was the all time ruthless beast.
"Asher!" I called his name as my tears fell on his face that was already disorganized with the amount of punches Alaric had given him.
"I'm sorry Asher" I pleaded as I brought his hands to my face and kissed it. His hands seemed to have flinched by my touch or perhaps they just moved and I seemed to have thought of that myself.
I turned my back holding to see Alaric and perhaps he would help me out with lifting Asher but he wasn't there anymore, he was gone and it was just the both of us left in the forest.
I would have been able to carry him If I was stronger than I was right now, it was even hard for me to carry myself up and talk more of carrying an extra weight.
I brought my phone out of the small purse that was attached to my dress as I tried to call Ariel's number but then I realized she would only be mad at me and definitely won't help me since it involved her brother and by now the whole pack would have known we ran away.
I wouldn't want to drag her into my own mess and implicate her so I was just going to have to do this on my own even though there was no way to carry him back to the pack house.
Thanks to all of the classes on herbs I attended, I was able to search for nearby healing plants as I squeezed their juices into his wounds in order to heal him up on time.
It seemed to have been working because in no time, his eyes fluttered open as they came to meet me on him with a smile on my face as I was healing his wounds but rather than him being happy I immediately sensed a scornful look on his face as he shoved me away from his body but I let it slide, perhaps I was sitting in where was hurting.
"You're awake Asher!" I announced with enthusiasm as I stared into his eyes, it was now morning and the rays of the sun were shining on his face but he didn't look like he was happy to see me, not even a bit.
"What's up with you?" I asked as my brows furrowed in confusion while I kept on staring at him.
Without answering me or looking at me anymore, he stood up on his feet and reached for his bag.
"Fuck it!" He yelled as he threw the gun into the thick bushes and I flinched in fear. He was definitely angry and I barely saw this part of him when we were dating but now it seemed he was different. Or perhaps I was just the one thinking like that.
"Asher calm down" I tried to calm him down but the moment his eyes fell on mine, my body froze.
"Don't fucking tell me to calm down you bitch, everything is happening because of you and if you just hadn't existed then this son of a bitch wouldn't be lurking around my territory claiming it is his."
"I don't fucking care if he is just a lycan or a shitty lycan prince but just so you know, all of these is happening because of you Lenora!" He growled with anger.
"Don't say that to me, I had actually risked my life to save yours just now and I had followed everything you said even though it led me into trouble just so I can be with you or don't you want that anymore?" I asked as tears flowed down my eyes.
"I don't want to be with you Lenora and I will never want to!" He growled with his deep voice.
He was starting to walk closer to me while I kept on walking backwards until I felt my back on a tree. I swallowed the heavy lump on my throat because I had no idea what he would do to me once he got close to me.
His body was now close to mine that was pinned on the tree and I closed my eyes in fear of what he would do.
"Piece of shit!" He cussed at me before walking past me and he was gone, leaving me behind in the woods all alone despite the fact that I had risked my life to save him and even made a promise to the beast that I would do as he wishes but now I'm regretting why I made that decision.
"Asher!" I called out his name hoping he would stop on his tracks but the moment I turned my back, there was no sight of him anywhere near. He must have used his speed to run off.
He left me alone in the wilderness when I couldn't bring myself to do the same to him.
