Chapter 43: Chapter 43

Janani was in the kitchen, preparing a sweet dish, when she felt a pair of arms snaking around her bare waist.

She shuddered when she felt his touch.

"Good morning wifey" he whispered huskily in her ears.

"Good morning hubby" she greeted him back.

"Why are you up so early?" Armaan asked

"It's my pehli resoi (an Indian ritual), Armaan. I have to prepare something sweet" Janani said

"You gotta be kidding me. You are the first person who cooked in this kitchen. And that happened a few months ago. What is with this pehli resoi now" Armaan asked in disbelief

"Back then, I was an employee here. Now I am your wife. Haqq banta hei mera (It's my right to do this" Janani said

"Fine fine. But don't leave the bed without a good morning kiss, Janani. Never!" Armaan said and turned her around before smashing his lips against hers. Their lips moulded in sync.

"Let's go on a honeymoon immediately" Armaan whispered making Janani blush more.

"What does this blush mean, Janani? That you are ready for the honeymoon or that you are still shy for it?" Armaan asked and Janani quickly hugged him making him chuckle

"Where are we going for honeymoon?" Janani asked shyly

"Let's Google and see what are the best options for honeymoon. We will go to the place you choose" Armaan said making Janani happy.

"Get a room guys" Aadesh said, as he walked into the kitchen. Janani sprang away from Armaan, feeling embarrassed at being caught like that.

Armaan glared at his younger brother.

"Aren't you happy ruining my wedding night, that you have to come and disturb my kitchen romance too?" Armaan asked, and Janani gasped hearing how openly and shamelessly her husband is talking.

"Don't embarass poor bhabhi more, Armaan. She is already red. Anymore redded, Advi would think that she is a tomato" Aadesh said.

"Both of you, get out of my kitchen" Janani snapped furiously.

"Why should I? He is the one making problems. Ask him to go" Armaan said sulkily

"What did I do? You were the one who talk shamelessly. She is embarrassed because of your talks. You should be the one to go" Aadesh argued with his elder brother.

"Enough. Get out" Janani chased them out of the kitchen and sighed in relief.

"Momma. Ava no school today?" Little Ava asked. She was missing going to school and playing with her friends. It has been a week since she went to school

"Ava wants to go to school?" Janani asked, playfully flicking Ava's nose

"Yes. Ava wants to play with friends" Ava said with a cute pout.

"Then, Ava can go to school from tomorrow. Momma will also come" Janani said, with a cheeful smile, making Armaan frown.

"What do you mean by you will also be going? We just got married yesterday." Armaan said

"I know. But Ava wants to go to school" Janani said

"Ava can go, ofcourse. But you can't go, Janani" Armaan said, making Janani frown.

"You don't expect me to be a housewife, do you Armaan. If you think so, let me be clear, for one and for all. I trained as a nursery school teacher. I love my job. And I won't give it up. Not even for you" Janani said and Armaan gaped at her in disbelief

"When did I ask you to give up your job?" Armaan asked

"Well, you were refusing to let me go" Janani said

"For this week. Because we are a newly married couple. We should spend quality time together. I didn't take a week off from office for nothing" Armaan said

"You took a week off?" Janani asked in surprise

"Ofcourse I did. You didn't think I would run back to office as soon as we get married, did you?" Armaan asked, looking at her as though she had gone crazy.

"Uh, well, I didn't think you would be able to stay away from work for that long" Janani admitted.

Armaan picked up Advi from the floor and sat next to Janani.

"I was a workaholic. I ate, drank and breathed work all these years. It all changed when you came into my life, Janani. Now, you and the kids are my world. My priority." Armaan said and dropped an affectionate kiss on Janani's cheeks

"Dada momma kissie" Advi clapped his hands and placed a kiss on his mother's cheeks, making Armaan laugh and Ava giggle.

"Okay young man! It's time for your nap. Come on" Armaan said and picked up a protesting Advi and walked towards the kids' room.

Janani took hold of Ava's hand and walked behind Armaan.

Armaan laid both the kids on the bed, he laid beside Ava. Janani laid beside Advi, and gently patted him to sleep, while Armaan did the same with Ava.

Soon, both the kids were cuddling and sleeping.

"Great. Hopefully, they will sleep for the next couple of hours" Armaan whispered and gently pulled up Janani from the bed and hurried her to their bedroom.

Janani flushed when she realised what his intention where.

"Armaan, it is day time" she hissed shyly

"So what? Is there a time limit in romancing my wife?" Armaan asked, as he kicked the bedroom door shut and pushed Janani against it.

"You are shameless, Armaan Verma" Janani whispered

"And you love with shameless Verma" Armaan said smugly before crashing his lips against hers.

Before he could deepen the kiss, Janani's phone rang

"Ignore it" Armaan said groaning, before kissing her again.

The phone rang a couple of times, and Janani gently pushed him

"It must be important. Why else would they call multiple times" Janani said and took her phone.

She saw it was a call from Ananya. She immediately picked it up, worrying something might have gone wrong at the pre kindergarten.

"Ananya, is everything alright?" Janani asked anxiously

"Janani, I am hyperventilating. I have no one to confide in other than you. I know you are on a leave for one week. But can you please come over." Ananya's hyperventilating voice made Janani panic.

"What's it? What's the matter? Tell me now" Janani demanded impatiently.

She then heard a shrill cry from the other side of the phone.

"Oh Janani, I need to go now. Please come soon" Ananya said and hung up the call.
