Chapter 41: Chapter 41

A week passed by in a jiffy and Janani was back in her hometown

The prewedding rituals starts the next day and Armaan wanted to take her out for dinner tonight

Their first official date.

Janani had never known happiness like this before.

Yes ,she had a very loving childhood with adoring parents

But what she found with Armaan and kids is bliss. Pure bliss.

She looked into the mirror and adjusted her saree once more.

Armaan loves to see her in saree.

'It's more accessible for me' he had said cheekily squeezing her exposed waist.

Janani blushed remembering the feel of his hands on her.

Damn!! He literally sets her on fire with a single glance.

"Janani" her mother came in looking somewhat anxious

"Maa! Is Armaan here already??" Janani asked excitedly.

"Its not Armaan. Vikram is here. His parents too. Vikram said he wanted to talk to you" her mother said anxiously

Janani stifled a groan. What does he want now. Haven't they already talked out everything.

"Fine. Let's get this over with" Janani said.

"He is waiting in the backyard" her mother said

Janani came out of her bedroom to see Vikram's mother looking at her coldly

She was not at all happy with Janani marrying someone other than Vikram and she made no effort to hide her dislike.

"Hello aunty. How are you??" Janani asked politely

"Oh we are very happy. Infact we got a proposal for Vikram. The girl is also a doctor. Isn't that perfect" the woman said with a smirk.

Janani inwardly rolled her eyes. What did this woman think?? That she would get jealous of this new girl.

"Oh that's great news aunty." Janani said

"Momma. Is dada coming today??" Ava came running towards her.

"Yes sweetie. Your dada will be here soon" Janani said kissing the little girl on top of her head

She looked upto see Vikram's mother looking at them in disdain.

"I will just go see what Vikram want to talk about"  With that Janani walked out onto the backyard

Janani braced herself as soon as Vikram came into her vision

"Vikram. Maa said you wanted to talk to me" Janani said politely

"It's not late yet Janani. Call off the wedding" Vikram said without wasting time with pleasantries.

Janani gaped at him

Nerve of the man!!

"And why would I do that??" Janani snapped

"Because you are making a mistake. You are doing this because you wanted to punish me. I admit I made a mistake. But I love you. You love me. We should get married" Vikram said

Janani rolled her eyes.

"I don't love you Vikram. I think I never did" Janani said and Vikram started pacing back and forth

"That's not true. We had something special Janani. Remember we used to sit and talk for hours near the lake?? Remember how worried you were for me when I had that accident. Remember when -"

"She also remembers how you cheated on her when you met the easier twin" came the voice from behind startling them both

"Armaan" Janani smiled as Armaan walked towards her

Armaan wrapped his arms around Janani's waist and glared at the man

Vikram's face turned red in embarassment.

"Cat caught your tongue Thakur??" Armaan asked

"Everything alright??" The two older ladies came out

Vikram's mother still had a haughty look on her face. She couldn't accept the fact that Janani chose a man with two kids over her son.

"Yes Maa. Everything alright" Janani said

"You must be Armaan Verma. I am the Thakurian of this town" the woman introduced herself and Armaan looked at her in amusement

"Thakurian! Does people still use their noble titles in this twenty first century??" Armaan asked and the woman flushed

"I have seen some photos of you in internet. My niece showed me. You are quiet famous. And have you seen the photos Sharadha. He has a different woman with him on his arms in each photo. What do they call such people. Yes playboys." Thakurian said with her nose in the air.

Armaan tensed and Janani fumed

"You are right aunty. Atleast he has been open about his nature. And he has always been loyal. Unlike some people here" Janani said shooting a look at Vikram.

"What is that supposed to mean??" Thakurian asked

"Mom. Let's go." Vikram urged his mother.

"No! I want to know what she is talking about"

"Thakurian. She was talking about what a cheating lying bastard your son is" Armaan said and the older ladies gasped at his crude language

"How dare you talk about my son like that. Someone as immoral as you!!" Thakurian raged

"Maybe its high time you understood the morality of your own son aunty" Aditya piped in from behind.

"Mom! Please let's go" Vikram begged

"No no Dr Thakur. I have been waiting for this honor since I found you and Saanvi in your city apartment. I kept quiet because that's what Janani di wanted. Not anymore" Aditya said smirking gleefully

The older ladies gasped

"Vikram and Saanvi! What are you talking about Adi" Janani's mom asked

"Aunt. The reason why Vikram and Janani di broke up was because Vikram, as he claimed then ,fell in love with Saanvi." Adi said

Sharadha stared at Vikram in shock

"That's a lie" Thakurian protested

"We don't particularly care what you believe." Armaan said offhandedly.

"Janani! Is it true??" Her mother asked and she sighed

"I didn't want you to know Maa. But I couldn't simply watch on when Armaan was being insulted" Janani said

"Why didn't you tell us earlier" Sharadha asked

"I didn't want to ruin your friendship with his family" Janani admitted.

"You should have told us Janani. No friendship is more important to us than you"

"Vikram! I think its time you took the Thakurian home" Armaan said.

The older woman raised her chin defiantly and walked out without sparing them another glance and Vikram followed her out.

"I never liked him" Adi admitted.

"Too late to voice out your opinion Adi" Janani said, rolling her eyes.

"Well! We are getting late for our date Ms Trivedi." Armaan said

"What are you waiting for Mr Verma??"
