Chapter 64: Chapter 64

Exposed

Natasha.

As soon as the doctor dismissed me, I walked out of the ward and saw Dante talking to the doctor.

I felt a little bit weak and drained of energy. According to the doctor, I lost a lot of blood.

I thought about what happened and wondered how differently things might have turned out if I didn't have resistance to silver.

Would Bastien have killed me just like that?? I tried not to think about what Dante's response was when Bastien confronted him about me.

It was my fault anyway for letting Bastien break away and I'm satisfied that I was also the one to fix it.

"Where is Bastien?" I asked, and Dante glanced up at me, but he didn't show any reaction and he turned around to leave.

I glanced at Nathan and he shrugged.

"He has been locked back up," Nathan replied and we both walked after Dante.

We soon got to the mansion and I walked into the building, closing the door.

"About the lady that we tracked, she's going to another of Zon's club this night," Nathan said, facing Dante.

Which lady? I was curious, but it was none of my business.

"Alright, we'll go there," Dante said and he faced Natasha, without a trace of emotion in his eyes.

"I'll just go now," Nathan said and he walked away quickly.

"How did the dagger not kill you?" Dante asked and he continued walking. The question caught me by surprise and I froze for a while before following him as he walked in the direction of our rooms.

"I'm impervious to silver, I think," I replied.

The first time I knew about this was in highschool when my palm was cut by a silver penknife and it healed up as fast as any normal injury.

At first, I thought that it wasn't a big deal until I accidentally ran into a silver knife and nothing serious happened to me. I lost a lot of blood, but the injury healed up.

"So what can kill you?" Dante asked. I didn't see that coming.

I tried to think about it. Silver was the kryptonite for Werewolves so if it couldn't affect me, the only options available are total damage.

"I don't know exactly, but definitely ripping out my heart or head," I replied and then I remembered the incident at the wooden stake. Fire would also destroy my body.

"I guess burning me too," I added

We finally got to my room and I thought he would walk past it and go to his own room, but h stopped too.

He faced me with a cold glare, "next time, when I say don't go out, then don't go out," his voice was thick and authoritative.

Leaving the room kinda made catching Bastien easier so I don't get the attitude he was giving. I sighed on the inside and I simply nodded.

"I'll try my best," I muttered.

I watched as Dante grabbed the doorknob of my room to open the door. No, he can't. I haven't come back here since I left through the trap door so the bed is still shifted and the trapdoor is open.

Before I could stop him, he pushed the door open and he seemed so surprised.

"What I'd happening here?" He asked and he let go of the doorknob, slowly walking into the room.

I followed him and just as I expected, the bed was shifted aside and the trap door was open.

He turned around to stare at me inquiringly before facing forward again and slowly walking towards the trap door.

Standing over the trapdoor, he looked down into the dark stairs, briefly glanced at me and looked at the stairs again.

Judging by his reaction so far, he had absolutely no idea that this place existed. And he's the Alpha of the pack.

He slowly climbed the stairs and I walked over to the trap door, looking at him as he climbed down to the foot of the stairs.

The walls were still parted and he disappeared from my viewing range as he walked into the dungeon.

He soon climbed back up and I moved back a bit he got to the top.

"Is this how you were able to access Bastien?" He asked and his eyes carried a bit of anger, frustration and curiosity.

I didn't know what to say so I only nodded slowly.

He scoffed and rested his right palm on his waist.

"You are really impossible," he said and the anger in his eyes slowly disappeared.

"Well, don't just stand there, cover it back up!" He said on top of his voice and I flinched a bit.

God! He was so scary.

"I will," I smiled widely and he rolled his eyes in irritation before walking towards the door.

He stopped as he got to the door and he turned around to face me.

"Don't you go near Bastien ever," he said, pointing at the open trapdoor and I nodded in affirmation before he walked out of the room and closed the door.

I climbed into the dark stairs and stopped at the foot of the stairs. I sighed and placed my hand on the brick, taking it away quickly as the walls closed back up.

I climbed back up the stairs and I bent down to close the trap door.

I was feeling really tired and I needed a rest. I stood up with a grunt and I sighed, already feeling tired for when I would push back the bed.

I smiled lightly and I bent down, pushing the bed back to the original position. I stood up straight, breathing out deeply and I looked at the wall clock.

It was evening already and it would soon get dark outside. I looked at the books that were still on my bed and smiled.

I didn't think that he would actually bring them for me. I had a feeling his cold attitude towards me wasn't really what he felt and he was just acting up.

How about I read one of these books till I fall asleep.
