Chapter 147: Chapter 147

Failed Them

Nathan.

I grunted as I tried to get up on my feet, but my left leg gave way and I fell on my butt. Just as I tried to stand up again, I heard another explosion and I fell.

I cried in pain, gritting my teeth as I watched my blood flow out of my injured leg.

The leg was badly hurt by the explosion and I knew there was no way I could stand up on my own.

I have to get help. I reached into my pocket to get my phone, but it wasn't in my pocket. I checked my other pocket and it wasn't there either.

Shit! I must have dropped it somewhere else. I didn't hear any other explosion, but the intruders were still in the pack and they could do anything.

I gritted my teeth, as I tried to crawl back to the clinic and find a way to contact anyone.

"Nathan!" I heard Kara exclaim and I looked up to see her run towards me. She gaped in shock and covered her mouth with her palms.

"Kara, what are you doing here? Who let you in?" I asked weakly and coughed. The injury seemed to have been infected with the silver and it was slowly poisoning me.

"I tricked the guards into thinking Dante approved when I called him," Kara replied and she bent down, taking a look at my leg.

"You talked to Dante?" I asked.

"Yes, and he's on his way," she replied. So he finally decided to pay attention to his calls and the pack he left defenseless for God knows what.

He took everyone who could organise people and handle this situation well. He knew I wasn't around too, I wouldn't even be here if not for Natasha's distress call.

I was in pain, helpless and angry.

"Fine. You have to go now before it gets more dangerous," I said and Kara stood up straight.

"No, I have to find Natasha. Where is the clinic?" She asked with her heel clicking against the tarred road.

"Kar...a," my voice broke as I tried to call her back while she walked hastily in the direction of the clinic.

I crawled, pushing myself on the ground so I could stop her.

I wanted to stand up, but I was afraid, if I tried to, my leg could completely break into two and nothing would heal it then.

I continued crawling as Kara walked right into a place that could be dangerous.

The clinic couldn't be evacuated since the roads were blocked with rubbles and Kara began to run faster having seen the building of the clinic.

"No, Kara, stop!" I shouted with all the energy in me and I began to feel dizzy.

My eyelids became heavy and my vision was blurry..

I fought the dizziness, but I lost and the last thing I saw before my eyes closed was an explosion in the clinic.

"Kara," I muttered softly before going unconscious.

***

Dante.

I dialed Kara's number and she picked the call immediately.

"Hello, Kara, what is it?" I asked.

"Bombs," she replied. What? What bombs? Where?

"Kara, what are you saying?"

"In your estate. Explosions everywhere," she replied and I gasped in shock.

Nico was facing me with shock on his face so he must have heard with his wolf hearing.

Explosion! Immediately I remembered Natasha's warning this morning. Maybe that was why she called me several times.

But she didn't pick her calls again so I worried something had happened to her.

"Alright. You can go, I'll be there now," I said and I ended the call.

I glanced at the bartender on the floor and looked at Nico.

"We have to go," I ran out immediately and jumped to the other side of the counter. I ran through the crowd, not minding anyone on my way.

"Hey watch it!"

I continued running and climbed into my car quickly.

"The pack is under attack!" I yelled and I started the car as Nico slammed the door shut.

I drove at maximum speed back to the pack and after ten minutes, I got to the pack.

I gaped in shock to see all the guards at the gate lying dead in a pool of their blood.

I gulped painfully and continued driving into estate. I looked up and saw all the smoke rising into the hair across the pack.

No, no, no. This can't be happening.

I felt an ache in my chest as I felt several emotions all at once.

I was scared, angry and disappointed in myself for failing my pack.

I was close to the first clinic and I could see the smoke rising in the air.

All the sick and helpless people there. I gulped and tears stung the corners of my eyes.

I brought the car to a screeching stop as I got close to a part of the road destroyed and filled with rubbles. A bomb had exploded here.

I climbed down from the car quickly and I continued running across the road. I stopped as I saw someone lying in the middle of the road.

It was Nathan.

I gasped and I ran to him, bending down. His leg was badly damaged, and he looked pale, but he was breathing.

I held back the tears in my eyes, surpressing the pain I felt. He tried telling me. They all did.

I stood up quickly, "get him away and help everyone that's injured!"

I instructed and looked around.

Natasha.

Is she okay?

Where is she?

I looked in the direction of the pack mansion and I glanced at Nathan's body one more time before running to the mansion.

I failed them. I failed all of them.Reflections

Natasha.

My eyes shot open and I gasped, jerking up from my bed.

I looked around and realized I was in my room. How did I get here? My eyes were heavy and my head was throbbing with a migraine.

It was much worse than an hangover.

I remembered seeing another vision and I was unable to move so I called Dante, but he didn't pick up.

I called Nathan, and I..............and I..............

Shit! I wasn't able to relay the message completely to him.

I climbed down from my bed immediately and put on a slippers.

As I walked past the mirror, I stopped walking all of a sudden and I walked back a bit to look at myself in the mirror.

My eyes were dark, my face was pale and sharply contrasting my voluptuous dark red lips.

My hair was longer too and black than usual.

What the hell?!

Don't tell me this isn't all real! Don't tell me this is a fucking dream!!

No, I have to wake up, I have to warn them!

I hit the mirror in anger and the glass cracked, splitting mirror in 6, neat and accurate parts.

But that wasn't the most shocking thing. Give me six different faces on each part of the mirror.

Well four, if I'm considering the fact that two of them are replicas of me.

It was me, Vampire me, Witch me, Dante, Bastien, and a guy I have never seen in my life.

What the fuck?!

Why am I seeing these people as my reflection?!

I hit the mirror again, shattering the glass into tiny bits.

I closed my eyes and the vision of the Vampires climbing out of the car into the pack flashed through my head again.

It was darkeness all over again for a while before hearing voices in the distance again.

They all started as inaudible mumbles before gradually getting clearer.

"We are here."

I kept on listening, having a bad feeling about whatever this was.

"The bombs are set in place," the same voice said and I gasped.

Bombs?! Where?!

"Good. I want to hear the pack go boom," a different male voice said this time, and my eyes opened immediately.

I panted and moved away from the dressing table.

This was going to happen. I'm sure of it.

I have to wake up! I need to get the hell up and do something about this.

There has to be a way I can wake up, a gate, a door, a portal or something.

I ran out of the room quickly and closed the door. All of a sudden, I heard a loud deafening sound and I almost fell to the ground from the shock.

I covered my ears as I heard another loud blasting, followed by the cries of pain and agony, screams for help, and helpless struggles.

My mind was unstable and I could pick up every sound. I could feel the emotions behind every sound too.

Pain, anger, desperation, agony.

Every single emotion of everyone out there filled my head and I held on to my head, groaning in pain.

Tears trickled down my face as my breathing tensed. I looked up as the entrance door flung open and I saw the bottom of a long purple robe.

I slowly raised my head so I could see the face of the man. He was a man in his late fifties and I have never seen him in my life.

He smiled as he looked at me and walked closer to me. I felt almost paralyzed by the negative emotions filling my mind.

He bent down a bit till our faces were equal and he used his hand to lift up my jaw.

He leaned closer to me, till his face was beside my face and his mouth close to my hear.

"We finally meet, Tribrid."

*

I gasped as I jerked up from my bed. I looked around and saw that I was in my room.

I'm awake for real this time.

I stopped moving as I began to hear screams and noises. Oh no, don't tell me the attack had already happened.

I could smell the smoke and stench of blood in the air. I climbed down from my bed immediately when the door opened.

It was Dante.

"Oh, you're okay," he said in relief, but seeing him only made me mad.

"Were you able to capture the Vampires I tracked for you?" I asked, crossing my hands over my chest.

He didn't reply so I guess he was unsuccessful.

"I know you said something about pack members being abducted, but I don't believe you. It was definitely something personal," I stated and walked past him.

Just as I placed my hand on the doorknob, I felt an oddly familiar presence in the building.

It was that same toxic and dominant presence..

"He's here," I took my hand off the doorknob immediately and turned around to face Dante.

"What? Who is here?" Dante asked, looking curious.

"We have to hide," I said quickly and walked to my bed, bending and pushing it aside a bit.

"Natasha, talk to me, who's here?" Dante asked, pulling me up.

"I don't know, but he's dangerous and we have to hide. Don't ignore my warning for a second time," I said and I bent down again.

I opened the trap door and I climbed in.

Dante sighed in hesitation before climbing in too. As he walked down, I reached for the edge of the bed and pulled it back over the Trap door.

Almost immediately, someone kicked the door of my room open and I heard footsteps.

"Silly of you to believe that you could possibly hide from me," I heard the same voice of the man in my visions.

"You can't hide from the Apex predator especially when your heartbeat betrays you," the man added and I sighed on the inside.

"Dante Paulo Steele, it's time you pay for what you've caused my family."

Well, I was sure it would be another one of the many people Dante had offended.

"Silas."
