Rose Hastington

As I arrived at my office, I walked to the small pantry first to make a coffee because I don't know why I felt so sleepy when I already sleep quite long. I need coffee to wake me up.

After making my coffee, I walked inside my office and started to do my job. Settling and work everything in place. I work and work and work until my stomach growled loudly.

I looked at my watch, it's already 2 p.m and I haven't eat yet. Oh! I miss eating pasta at the restaurant beside my office. Let's just go there! I walked out from my office room and walked towards the lift. I waited for it to come by looking at the ground tapping my feet. I heard a 'Ding' and I looked up.

My eyes met his, he gave me a smile and I can't help but plastered a smile on my face. He changed a lot, he got more skinny but his muscle was getting bigger since the last time I saw him.

"Hey." He walked out from the lift.

"Hey, how are you Max?" I asked, there’s a little bit of awkwardness but not that awkward. It’s quite difficult to explain the feelings.

"I'm good, you?" He hugged me and I hugged him briefly. We both felt that electrifying feelings but I bet we both choose to not talk about it.

"Yeah I'm good, you're looking for Luke? He's in his office." I said pointing at Luke's office.

"Yeah, I have some business with him. You're going out?" I suddenly remembered the photos that I saw on his desk but I don’t ask him. It will be so awkward and just weird after agreeing to be friends and I don't want to ruin by asking it. It's like digging to the past.

"Yeah, going to have lunch.”

"Oh okay. Maybe I'll see you around?" Max said but still his eyes locked to mine.

"Yeah, I'll see you around.” I smiled, I don't know what's wrong with him but there's just something new with his vibes.

"Bye." He smiled and I walked into the lift. He walked to Luke's office as the lift doors close. I smiled widely, going down to the lobby and walked to the restaurant. I ordered carbonara as soon as I got into he restaurant. I really need to eat because I’m damn hungry.

Suddenly my phone rang and it's Luke.

"Where are you?"

"Restaurant beside the office, the pasta restaurant.” I said.

"Okay.”

"Why are you asking?"

"I need to discuss something with you.”

"Come here then." I said and he ended the call. I waited for him to come, since I’m bored.. I decided to check my social media accounts. I rarely open it.

"Sis." I looked up to see Luke came along with Max.

"Hey." I smiled to Max and he smiled back.

"Let's discuss this." Luke said as he put a file in front of me. Max sat across me while Luke sat beside me.

"What?" I looked at the file and saw a new contract.

"Discuss it then.” I said and he started to tell me about the new contract that he's been working on with Max and Alex but Alex can't come because he's in Germany. He asked me about my opinion about the contract and asked me if I want to help them managing it since they have no one to trust beside me.

"I think I can do it." I said and looked at them both.

"Great then." Max said and I nodded. At the same time, my food has arrived and I looked at my brother and him awkwardly.

"I think you both should eat cause it's awkward for me to eat alone.” I said.

"Yeah I'll just order the same as yours." Luke said and we called the waitress. She walked to us and brought the menu with her. She gave it to Max and Luke.

"One carbonara again." I said to her and I saw her batting her eyelashes to Max.

"One bacon burger." Max said and looked at her for a moment and he landed his eyes on me. He gave me his best smile.

"You can go." Max said to the waitress.

"When is this project will start?" I asked.

"It's already settle but we haven't got someone to manage it for us." Max answered and I looked at him for a moment nodding

"You already have the people?”

"Stupid head.. yes.. it's already settle down." Luke said rolling his eyes and I smacked his arm.

"You move here for good?" Max asked.

"Yeah.. Missing the New York vibes." I nodded and started eating my pasta.

"Brighton is quite nice to live but still New York is still the best.”

"Brighton is quiet and if you're a writer you'll love living there because of the situation and the people are just nice." I said to Max.

"Brighton is full of beautiful girls" Luke said and he wiggled his eyebrows.

"London has more." I turned to him. I felt my body burning because Max kept looking at me with his.. argh I hate to say this.. loving eyes!

"You guys have to try living in Brighton for awhile, it heals you. The beach, the people and yeah.. if you're sick working go there." I suggested to them both and Luke shook his head.

"No thanks.. I love New York." Luke said when suddenly his phone rang. He sighed as he saw the caller ID. He stood up and walked away. Okay.. this will be awkward.

"Sorry if we gave you a sudden big project when you just got home." He apologized and I looked at him disbelief.

"This? You know I always work helping dad and Luke, it's fine." I smiled and chuckled lightly.

"I'll make sure that I'll help you, it's an international project. Taking the things from China and even take some parts from Rusia." He looked into my eyes and I nodded weakly.

"It's fine, I can manage it. Don't worry about it.” Suddenly there's an awkward silence between us.

"I miss you." He suddenly said that out of the blue out and that made me look at him disbelief.

"It's not- uhm- I mean- I'm-" He suttered.

"It's fine, it's good to have a talk with you again Max. I really mean it." I nodded and smiled to him.

"I'm sorry about that.. I'll-"

"Do you still love eating dark chocolate?" I cut him to prevent the awkwardness between us and he suddenly raised his eyebrows.

"Dark chocolate?"

"Oh.. yeah, still eating that." He nodded and I opened my bag taking out a bar of dark chocolatez

"I hope you'll like it." I pushed it towards him and he gave me a really big smile.

"Thankyou Rose.”

"You're welcome Max.. good to see you again by the way.”
