Chapter 6: Chapter 6

He flicked the lights on and lay his backpack near a laundry basket next to his queen-sized bed. Rohit’s room was small, but it was all he needed to get by. However, now that he had someone else living there, it might prove to be difficult to share it all the time, but he was optimistic that as long as Ingrid lay low, there wouldn’t be any problems.

That, of course, would be somewhat truthful if she weren’t a vampire.

Rohit was now housing an entity of the night, and there was no turning back.

“So this is a human man’s room…” The young woman admired what little amount of accessories Rohit possessed. “Fascinating.”

A dresser, bed, and two computer desks made up the room’s furniture. There were other miscellaneous objects present, such as a display case filled with trinkets and collectables the young man took an interest in, dusty martial arts trophies that stood atop his dresser, and a laptop and computer for each desk, but with one leather office chair. A narrow mirror with wipe streaks from improper cleaning hung on the wall beside the display case, and on the wall opposite of that was where the bed lay. A thick, weathered blanket, sporting old cartoon characters, was hastily tossed to one side of the mattress, as the images crinkled over one another’s fading outline and colors. A square window hung above that, obscured by thin, spring-themed curtains, and a small closet door was slightly ajar in the adjacent corner in front of where Rohit slept.

“You think so?” Rohit acknowledged Ingrid’s comment. “I think it’s a mess…” He looked down at some discarded receipts, empty water bottles, filled water bottles and fruit drinks, and plastic bags with more bags in them.

The young man’s room was definitely nothing to look twice at.

These loose debris were in the corners of the room to give the impression that there was plenty of space at the center, as that had nothing blocking the path, but it was just an illusion.

To Rohit, the room was an organized mess that could easily be cleaned if five to ten minutes was taken out of the day. Whatever lethargy the young man exhibited in his domain, certainly didn’t emulate his actions outside of it.

Ingrid shook her head and looked up at Rohit. “I think it’s great…” She smiled, and then lowered her eyes to the tan carpet, which had stains from some kind of black boot polish that couldn’t simply be shampooed out, so it just remained there. “It’s normal…” she whispered nostalgically under her breath.

The young man heard this, and wanted to ask what she meant, but soon realized that his mom was going to be back soon, so he informed his new roommate that he was going to have to shower fast. “I, uh…” He scanned Ingrid’s tattered clothes, which gave off a subtle metallic scent now that it was dryer. “I-I suppose you should come with me…” Rohit stuttered, as his face turned rosy against his mocha skin, and Ingrid started blushing from the implication he made too. “But we’re gonna have to change here, so we have less to carry to and from the bathroom…”

While they stood silently pondering over the suggestion, Rohit finally acted, and unzipped his coat and removed his socks. He tossed them both into the laundry basket before taking his shirt off. He glanced to the towel rack behind him, which was actually a keyboard stand he recycled to hold his towels. Now that he gave away the old instrument to a friend, that’s all he used it for now. He handed the spare towel to Ingrid. “I’m gonna turn around so you could undress as well…” he continued, as he followed through with what he said. “You could just mix your clothes with mine in the basket, and we’ll figure it out later.”

At this point, the young man removed his shirt, exposing a toned back with muscle creases, which Ingrid marveled at, as her eyes widened, and her jaw dropped.

She quickly turned around, feeling her heart pound in her chest from excitement. The pressure built up so much inside her that it caused her nose to leak blood, to which she used the soft towel to wipe it away. “I-I guess it can’t be helped…” Ingrid finally conceded, as she started unbuttoning her blouse and then removing her boots and stockings.

Rohit continued to stand with his back turned towards Ingrid until she was done undressing. His towel wrapped around his waist, which he kept his hand on in case it slipped down, but it was unlikely, because the folds were tightly held together. The shy young man didn’t want to take the risk though, since he’s never done anything like this with a woman before. Rohit was as pure as they get, since he was focused on his career and life goals.

Women weren’t people he needed during his hustle, but they were definitely people he wanted in the long-term when it came to romance. In his mind, however, he felt it would be irresponsible to court one when he already had so much going on. Yet with Ingrid showing up out of nowhere, it drastically changed his outlook, though he didn’t intend on anything else besides helping her. The vampire heiress wasn’t just any normal woman Rohit ever met in his life—that was already made clear from the past few hours—so it was going to be the start of an interesting partnership.

“O-Okay…” Ingrid shyly squeaked. “Y-You can turn around now…”

Rohit took a deep breath and looked over to see the towel wrapped around the vampire’s slender figure and medium bust. He gulped and felt his mouth water from seeing this beautiful sight to behold.

It was immaculate.

Ingrid’s light skin contrasted with the azure color of the cloth, but it matched her eyes, which were cast to the side to avoid directly meeting Rohit’s cinnamon stare. She also glanced through the laundry basket, especially when her undergarments mixed in with his The young woman’s cheeks were redder than before, as she decided to finally look at her companion in front of her. Rohit’s cut body made her legs tremble, as another trickle of blood seeped from her nostril.

“Whoa, are you okay?” he urgently asked, snapping out of his bewitchment.

Ingrid came to as well, after placing a hand over her mouth and another in front of her, before stumbling back into the wall. “I’m fine! I’m fine,” she insisted, before wiping her nose. “We should get in the shower before your mom returns…”

Rohit didn’t utter another word and nodded, before leading the way to the bathroom adjacent to his room.
