I decide to meet Lucas at the given location. I wanted nothing more than you to expose Sophia and tell Noah the truth but at this point, Noah won’t believe me.

It’s sad to say, but Noah will take Sophia’s words over mine. I feel so.

Lucas has given me the location of a coffee shop. I don’t see him at the given location though. I look around and can not find him.

I’ll be late. Wait for me there.

I read on my phone screen. I found a booth in the corner and sat back admiring the calmness of the place. It wasn’t chaotic, but instead peaceful.

I waited there for a long time, minutes turned into hours and time was passing by. The sun was setting and I was about to leave when a tall and sturdy man dressed in formal attire approached me.

“ Hello. “ Said, Lucas.

I stared at him with anger.

“ Do you know what time it is? “ I ask annoyed.

“ You don’t have a watch? “ He asks back smugly.

Is he for real?

“ It’s 6:30 Miss. No watch. “ He informs with a smug look.

“ Look Lucas, please don’t waste my time. If you have something important to say- “

“ Oh, that I do. “ He says cutting me in between.

“ Say what you have seen till now. I’ll tell you the rest. I hold the answers to that puzzled face. “ He says mysteriously.

“ Sophia had recently broken up with Noah. I thought she dumped Noah and thus wouldn’t want her back. Noah is controlling. She said she couldn’t deal with him anymore. “ I start, saying what I’ve seen and understood till now.

“ She dumped Noah because he has issues. Funny! “ Lucas chuckles sarcastically in a dark voice.

“ He does. He often gets angry at me for no reason and he shouts at me every single time. Just because I make a few mistakes in the office he belittles me. “ I explain. No doubt Noah has some issues.

Lucas rolls his eyes at that.

“ Continue. “ He says, ignoring my previous comment.

“ Anyway, Sophia has returned. She came crying back to Noah saying Andrew left her and that she was heartbroken. She is now working under Noah. “ I inform.

“ That’s all I know. “ I end my side of the story here.

“ Oh wait, there is more. She was pouring this in Noah’s coffee. “ I speak, extending the empty bottle.

He reads it and then puts it in his pocket. He then gets up from his chair and strides towards his car

“ Why are you leaving. You didn’t tell me anything. “ I complain.

“ I never promised to. “ He replied arrogantly.

“ You did. “ I whine.

“ I did? Well, I guess I lied. “He says in a sing-song-like voice. Mocking me in a way.

He opens the door and gets in. Before he can close it, I put my hand in.

“ This isn’t fair. “

“ You wanna know what’s going on? “ He asks.

I nod.

“ Then get in. “ He commands.

I hesitate for a second and then get in.

“ Sophia is nothing but a low-class slut. She has dated many rich men, young or old she doesn’t care. I was one of her targets, but I’m not dumb. I slept with her, used her, and then left her. She deserved it. But I guess that didn’t settle quite well with her. “ He says chuckling to himself.

This man right here disgusts me!

“ If you use someone for their body and then get rid of them the next day, they won’t act nice. No one deserves that Lucas. “ I say.

“ A gold-digging whore does. Besides what did she expect, a fucking marriage? She wanted to take my money. And hey, I did pay her for that one night. “ He comments.

“ As I said, she didn’t like being dumped like that. To take her pity revenge she targetted Noah. Noah was always calm and collected. He had never dated before so he had no experience. But Sophia was like this destructive piece that was bound to ruin Noah. They were always on and off and when Noah wasn’t with Sophia he hooked up with other girls. He started having anger issues. I had enough, I confronted Noah, I tried to show the reality of that bitch but she broke our friendship. She manipulated my brother against me. “ He says, with a vengeful tone.

“ You’re his brother? “ I ask.

“ No, we’re like brothers but there is no blood relationship. He and I have been pretty close. “ He says.

“ I thought Sophia was going to stick with him for his money. But no! That bitch went crazy. She is messing with Noah’s head. She is driving him crazy just for the sake of revenge. “

“ But I will not let her mess with me like that. I’ll show that bitch her place and you can help me with that. “ He says, pointing his index finger at me.

“ Me? “ I ask confused.

“ Nothing is more important to him than his business. Not even Sophia and she knows it too. But he stood up for you and went against Nate. The one he has signed many deals with. That means something, Emma. If you and I become friends we can get rid of that bitch. I can get my friend back and you can be with Noah. “ He completes.

That…is a tough decision and can I really trust him?

“ I can’t. I’m sorry. “ I say, about to leave.

He grabs my arm roughly and pulls me back in the seat.

“ You don’t have a choice. You either do my work or… “ He growls, in a threatening manner.

“ Or what? You’ll hit me? “ I ask, infuriated with everyone threatening and blackmailing me these days.

“ No, but I’ll do something worse. Say cheese. “ He says, taking out his phone.

All of a sudden he grabs me and takes me in his lap. Before I can struggle he takes a picture of us and then lets me go.

“ What was that? “ I scream at him.

“ I wonder how Noah will react? Seeing the picture of his girlfriend so close to his enemy. “ Lucas says in an amused tone.

“ How dare you touch me like that? “ I question, still bothered by the fact he shoved me in his lap as if I am some plastic doll.

“ Oh please, you’re not my type. “ He mutters with arrogance.

“ Coming here was a mistake. “ I exclaim.

“ And now you have to pay the price. Do what I say or the picture goes to Noah. And we both know he isn’t a kind man, you know what he will do to you once he sees these. “ Lucas warns.

Noah will roast me alive!

“ Fi..Fine. “ I agree with him.

He then unlocks the car.

“ Remember if you go against me, or try to double-cross me. I will ruin you and Noah won’t be able to help you from my claws. Besides don’t you have a brother to look after? “ He says before I can leave. He chuckles in a dark manner, with an underlying threat.

I should have never come here.

I get a bus and reach the office soon. I slyly sneak in, hoping Noah doesn’t notice.

“ Where were you? “ A voice booms from behind.

“  I was…uh..”

“ I sent her outside, to do something for me. “ Says the last person I would expect help from. It’s Sophia. But why is she covering up for me?

“ Okay. Emma just tells me if you go somewhere. I was a little worried. “ He says, coming closer and then kissing me lightly. He backs off when Sophia coughs, to of course bring attention towards her.

Noah then goes back while Sophia grabs my hand and drags me away.

“ Listen here you sneaky thing, I know where you went and whom you met. “ She states.

“ He is not the nice guy here, so think twice before falling for his fake story. You don’t know these men as I do. Listen to me and you will go unharmed. “ She threatens or more like advices.

“ I don’t know what you are talking about. “ I try playing innocent.

“ You will once I tell Noah that you met Lucas. I’m warning you again Emma, he is not the nice guy here. We need to get rid of him together or he will get rid of the both of us. You’re new. You don’t know what’s going on but I do. “

“ You need to help me. Lucas tried to bring me down but we can both bring him down. We can expose him once again in front of Noah. “ she further says.

“ No, I don’t even trust you. “

“ You have to, he has bad intentions. I’ll tell you everything. Why he is doing this. But for that, I need to know you’re in my side? “

“ Fine. But why is Lucas so against you? “ I ask? Lucas after all blackmailed me in the car. He isn’t the nice guy and maybe he is just blaming Sophia for something she never did. So I won’t do Lucas’s dirty work.
