The entire ballroom was decorated in a beautiful manner. There were crystal chandeliers in the entire room that were spreading lights all over the room.

People of upper class were all gathered in the hall on the occasion of the birthday of none other than the first son of Shengs. Everyone were wearing expensive gowns and suits and were given personal invitation for the party.

Each and every person in the room were judging each other on the basis of their attire as well as money. It was hard to believe that these people did not scheme against each other even when they did not talk to each other.

The Sheng family's members were present in the hall but it seemed like they did not even know each other. Everyone acted and showed off about themselves and their money.

"Where is my Xiao Li?", asked the old Master Sheng as he looked at old madam. "I called young miss a while ago, she said she already landed but she had some work", informed Jordan, old Master Sheng's assistant.

Just as everyone were talking a black limousine stopped in front of the hotel and two beautiful slender long legs stepped out. Every photographer waited for the owner of those long legs to step out so they could capture the beauty.

A chauffeur came out and helped her get out of the limousine. Lily stepped out of the limousine blinding every photographer in the line.

She was wearing emerald green off shoulder lacy gown that matched perfectly with her eye color. The gown had a side slit on the right side that stopped on her thigh. She paired the gown with matching heels, emerald chain bracelet and emerald earrings.

Her hairs were outwardly curled and let down at the back. Her face had very light makeup that included emerald smoky eyes, light powder and nude pink lipstick.

She looked like a beauty never seen before. Though she looked simple everyday, she looked extremely beautiful today. As she walked inside every photographer stared at her instead of clicking her picture.

As Lily entered the hall and the entire hall went silent and every eye was stuck to her. She looked around and found her grandparents in the centre of the hall. She ignored every person and walked to them.

"Grandfather, grandmother", she called out making them turn to her.

"You look so beautiful, Xiao Li", complimented the old madam to which Lily gave a small smile of acknowledgement.

Everyone in the hall looked at how Lily interacted with her grandparents and thought she was a good child. The image of the rebellious Lily in everyone's eyes were changing as they looked at her.

Kaylyn looked around and found every eyes was centred to a person who was none other than her own daughter. She did not let go of the chance and went towards Lily who was sitting on her table with the Elder Shengs and sipping her wine.

"Lily, my daughter", Kaylyn called out to which Lily gave a bored look. Lily did not bother to even give a look of acknowledgement to the lady. Kaylyn did not mind and decided to use this against Lily.

"Daughter, you shouldn't act like this. I'm your mother. How much do you want me to apologise to you? I only want good for you", Kaylyn said as she faked tears gathering everyone's attention.

Lily did not bother to even look at the woman and silently sipped her wine. "You are being so arrogant now. I gave birth to you and raised you. How can you be so unfilial", Kaylyn ranted when she got no response from Lily.

Kaylyn thought Lily would be bursting by now but Lily looked as calm as ever.

The Elder Shengs looked at Lily's calm demeanor and were both impressed by her.

"Whatever I and your father did was all just good for you. We only want better for you", Kaylyn said looking like a mother who was being insulted by her daughter by not getting any attention. People around them started looking at them and talked about them.

Lily looked around and kept her wine glass down on the table. Kaylyn thought now Lily would get angry and make a fool of herself in front of so many people.

"Oh really? You want good for me?", Lily asked in a calm tone. "Of course. Every parent want good for their child. You're our only daughter, Lily", Kaylyn said with a smile.

As everyone were busy looking at the mother daughter pair, the air in the hall turned extremely cold when a certain someone entered the hall.

Wearing a grey three piece suit and a black overcoat over his shoulder, he looked handsome as ever. As he walked inside, the domineering aura around him made everyone turn and have a look of him.

Accompanying him was an extremely beautiful Angel and a feminine but cute looking Sanna and two handsome young men namely, Ali and Rahim.

Angel looked around and saw Lily sitting on the chair while her mother was standing in front of her. A deep frown formed on her face when she saw how the lady tried to degrade her lil sissy. She went forward to teach a good lesson to the woman but Lily was enough to put shame on the lady.

"If you think so good about me then why did you call me that night and threaten me to give up on the dream of becoming the CEO of Sheng Corporation? If you say I'm lying, I have the recordings of those calls. Should I play them, 'mom'?"

Hearing this, Kaylyn shut her mouth and glared at Lily. Lily was supposed to be the one to get embarrassed not her getting slandered by Lily and being embarrassed in front of everyone.

She felt so much anger rise in her for Lily that she wanted to strangle Lily at that moment.

Angel laughed when she saw Kaylyn go away with an annoyed face while Lily calmly sipped her wine like nothing actually happened.

Lily looked at Angel and stood up to hug her and smiled brightly. Lily looked at Sanna who was standing next to Angel and hugged her then kissed her forehead. "How are you, kiddo?", Lily asked while she patted Sanna's head.

"Wow, you look so beautiful. I'm all good. Thank you", Sanna said with a bright smile. Lily smiled and thanked her. Sanna and Angel sat on the same table where Lily was sitting along with the Elder Shengs.

Ali and Rahim too came there and sat with them.

"We'll be back", said the old master and the both the elders walked away to talk to some guests leaving the group of young people on the table.

Sam came towards Lily and sat next to her on the chair named for him. Lily looked at Sam through her lashes and chuckled when he glared at her.

"What are you laughing for, Ms. Sheng?", Sam asked in an irritated tone. "Nothing, Mr. Andres. Seems you don't like me", she said and laughed to which Sam rolled his eyes. "I don't like any woman", he said in a cold tone.

"Why? You are interested in men or what?", Lily asked in a sarcastic tone to which everyone on the table laughed. Sam glared at everyone and gave a death glare to Lily who was smiling innocently while she looked at him.

"You know you shouldn't get so angry. Chill, Mr. Andres", Lily said and picked a fried shrimp from the dish kept on the table with her chopsticks then brought it upto his lips. Sam kept glaring at her but she did not mind at all and kept smiling.

Lily reached out and patted his cheek like he was a kid while everyone controlled their laughter. Sam grabbed Lily's hand and pushed it away angrily making her chuckle lightly.

A few tables away, a girl kept shooting glares at Lily while she gritted her teeth. It was Sheng Ling.
