Chapter 80: Chapter 80

Chapter Eighty

Jasper's POV

There was no point in being rich. What was the point of it when you could not get the one main information that you needed the most.

I called all the people who I had connections with, to gather any information on Daniel. Any specific information that could help me get the right location of where he had kidnapped Ava, but there was none. Daniel was not officially from the US and he was not here for a long time, therefore, there was not much information on it.

Time was running out and I still did not have much information on it. It had already turned to night and I was beginning to realise that if push came to shove, I had to choose between Ava and the deal. A deal that would decide the future of my company. And a person who would decide my future.

My phone buzzed in my pocket and my heart hammered inside my chest. I was dreading to see who it was from. Even though I had been expecting a call from him.

I pulled out a phone out of my pocket and saw that it was actually a message along with a video. In a hurry, I opened the video. My hands squeezed the phone in my as I watched the video go on.

It was Ava. She was tied to a chair, her mouth was gagged with tight cloth and she had a gush of wound on her forehead that had a little blood trickling down. That bastard hit her. In that video, Ava was crying and her tear stricken face looked swollen. She shook her face over and over again while trying to say something to the screen. I was contemplating my life right now. Thinking about going to jail.

My hands began shaking from all the rage I was containing myself in.

I backed off from the video and saw the text written under it.

"Your six hours are about to be over. Better hurry. If you did not make the decision till then. Then I will." It read.

Now, this was it. I got into my car and drove to Charlotte's home. I texted to see her and she replied back with an okay.

Earlier, I had held the information of Charlotte being involved with it myself. I did not say anything about it to the police. Hoping that she realised her mistake but this was too much. This was the breaking point. If she did not have any respect for me or for our friendship then why should I?

She had this coming.

I reached her house. I strode to her door and as I was about to ring the doorbell, the door opened. Charlotte stared at me before she stepped back and let me into her house.

"Tell me the location or else I will report you to the police." I threatened her. She walked into her living room and without looking back she asked me.

"Did you decide to marry me?" She asked. This time I snapped. I walked over to her and spun her around. I grabbed her both arms and got on her face. My glare turned icy cold.

"I'm not going to marry you. I will never marry you. And to even think that you could take Ava's place ... you are pathetic." I shoved her back.

"What's so wrong in marrying me Jasper? Tell me?" She asked while rubbing her arms.

"Even if we did marry each other, I won't ever love you. You would bind yourself in a loveless marriage that would drive you insane. You would die without a loving person at your side. Trust me." I told her. Then I realised that I was wasting my time.

I did not have time for this.

"Where is Ava? Tell me. Or I swear to god Charlotte, you will be in jail for the rest of your life. So tell me." I ordered her. She did not say anything.

"Fine." I said and took out my phone to call the cops.

"Wait." She said,

"Listen to me. He is not going to hurt Ava. Earlier when I told you he would harm her, I was lying. Just to put you on edge. He just wants you to persuade into leaving the deal. So, just do as he says." She told me. My anger flared.

"He doesn't want to hurt Ava? Then, what is this?" I shouted, shoving my phone on her face. Showing her the video that Daniel sent me. She watched the whole video with her eyes wide and mouth hung open. It was like she could not believe what she was seeing.

"Is this what you call, 'not hurting her'." I asked her.

"But he told me that he would not hurt her." She mumbled to herself.

"Oh, of course. He would tell you that. Why did you believe that he would not hurt Ava? Why do you believe anything that he tells you?" I questioned her.

"Because he said so." She told me. Her expression still looked like she could not believe what she saw.

"And you believed him?" I asked her, for the first time in my life, thinking that she was an idiot. My mind reeled back to the same question that was brewing in my mind.

"Why is he even helping you?" I asked her. She looked away, her jaw clenched as anger took over her features. She was feeling stupid for trusting him, I could tell. It was not in her nature to be fooled. Especially not that easily. Her ego just got bruised.

"I heard Daniel and Ava's conversation in the pantry. I got to know that he also liked her. So, I talked to him later. He presented me with a deal. He told me that he would take Ava away from you for some time." She said, I gritted my teeth.

"Kidnap her." I corrected her. She gave me a side glare but then guilt took over that look and she looked away.

"He told me that he would make a deal with you. That he will ask you Ava in exchange for the deal. While holding Ava as leverage." She explained.

"Are you kidding me? You let her get kidnapped?" I snapped.

"Because I thought he would not hurt her!" She snapped back.

"He told me that he will ask you to marry me, so that you could not have her. Even after you chose her." She said,

"He knew that you would choose Ava above all. So, he decided to include me in this. He told me that once you choose Ava and let that damn deal go, he will ask you to marry me. As an additional condition. So, even if you did end up saving her, you'll still lose both." She explained it to me. She took a deep sigh.

"But now I know that I was wrong." She said,

I crossed my arms and glared down at her.

"Where is she? Tell me the location." I asked her, cutting to the point. I had too little time in my hands. I did not want to waste it.

"He did not tell me the location." She said and I took a step towards her. I was going to call out on her bluff. She held her hands up to stop me.

"However, I tracked his phone's location. And had one of my men follow Daniel. In case something goes wrong." She told me. Not such an idiot after all.

"Tell him to give the location." I said. She reluctantly pulled out her phone and made some calls. Finally, a message popped into her phone and she showed me the address.

"Here's the address. He is still in there but he won't be for long. Your time is running out, so you better hurry." She told me. Like I needed instruction from her. I pulled out my phone and called the police to tell them the location. Eventually, I got to work.
