Chapter 50: Chapter 50
(Vivienne)
After a heated argument with Victor, I retired to my room. I felt bad because I didn't see anything bad with whatever happened earlier. Everything was not in my control just like he happened to be there I also was there
I wanted to feel bad and hate Victor for how he spoke to me but when I recalled what he did for the pregnant lady, I smiled warmly. I wanted to know how he showed up just in time to help out.
I thought he was at the office but he came to save us. Not just lady who was in danger but saved me as well
I saw how he hurt himself just to get the elevator to open. Despite the high reputation he held, Victor helped us get out when no one could
I tossed and turned to my sides as I hugged the soft pillows close to my chest and smiled. He was selfless, what he did at the mall proved that despite how cold he proved to be.
Deep down he had a soft heart. I wanted to know if he was a doctor and if yes then why wasn't he working in the hospital. He was so skilled and qualified to be a doctor so why
All sorts of questions ran through my head causing me to feel restless. I glanced at my phone to see the time and it was still not after midnight.
The thought of it made me groan as I shoved the phone back under the pillow and hugged the one in my arms.
Unlike more nights I felt strange. I was so curious that I couldn't get any shut eyes even when the lights were off
"I'm thirsty" I mumbled, feeling the dryness on my throat which made me feel uncomfortable hence I slowly but carefully dragged my body into a sitting position. Buried my face in my palms and leaned on my folded knees for a while.
The night was so quiet that I didn't want to stay away.
The window was open, which was what I liked. I preferred having an open window to feel the fresh breeze of the morning and night. I smiled faintly and shook my head since my hair was untied and decided to turn the lamp on the nightstand on.
I did and looked around for a bottle of water Julia kept for me in case I woke up in the middle of the night feeling thirsty
"Oh no"I mumbled when I left the empty bottle on the floor and saw that I finished the water Julia hot for me. I sighed heavily recalling how I switched to taking more water before I could go to bed
"I guess it's the kitchen then," I said feeling a bit frustrated as I dragged my body from the bed until my feet touched the cold floor.
I regretted not wearing any socks to keep warm however I searched around for my slippers and once I found them I exhaled in relief
I quickly put on a long robe to hide my body since I was wearing shorts with a small crop top shirt and left the room.
I slowly closed the door and prepared to tiptoe away because my room was close to Victor.
If he heard noises then the chances of him coming out all wounded like an animal were there
Thinking about that I rolled my eyes with irritation and scanned the dim-lit passageway before I made a run for it. I didn't even get far when I heard the shattering of a bottle.
